RES: Keeps on Moving

I could have sworn I used that title about 5 years ago or so but I guess not...I checked

So once again I find myself in the midst of a move to another state...hopefully by the end of this challenge my house in FL will be sold (as in closed on) the closing date on our house in FL is the 27th, my last day at my job is the 1st, Pride is the 2nd, and I will be in Atlanta on the 3rd. 

Having to change a few things since most of my house is now packed up in preparation of the move, about half way through the challenge the U-Packs will be picked up on the 18th and after that I will be staying with my mother in law...so cardio is on hold until after I get settled in GA.

 

The Plan...

Control - Comfort eating and drinking have been an issue with everything going on, need to get this under control. Might be tough after the 18th but I'll figure it out.

Update - Post in thread three times a week.

Track - Sleep (at least 7 hours a night) Food (eat when hungry, stop when full, track to be mindful)

Extra - Rides, 5k's, events, and any other random stuff goes here

Not Done - ❄️

 

Hopefully everything goes as planned and my next challenge will be to set up my new house  🤞🏼🤞🏼 there is a 5K in Piedmont Park on 11/20 that I really want to register for!

I understand it gets cold there in winter months, I'm not sure how I'm going to handle that 😢

 

Found a trailer for the bikes we're going to pick up this weekend, then my bike can get out of storage and hopefully hers will be out of the shop!

I can't imagine it gets terrible cold in Georgia, though? Unless I am very wrong? I'm optimistic for you.

Cold is relative.  He moved there from the mountains on the Utah/Idaho border and describes Atlanta winters as "somewhat less intolerable"

I can't imagine it gets terrible cold in Georgia, though? Unless I am very wrong? I'm optimistic for you.

I don't imagine it does, but my RA makes me sensitive to the cold...I love the heat, it doesn't bother me....unless the AC is out

I lived in SLC for four years...that's a low threshold  granted, was 30 years ago and the memory fades a bit (thankfully)

I'm already preparing for this stage. I used the Labor Day sales to buy disposable plates and stuff. Microwaveable meals are being stockpiled. I'm just wondering what I'll sleep on. I have an air mattress, but it's a double, and I don't wanna lug it around the world. Maybe I'll practice floor sleeping.

I have an air mattress but will be staying at my MIL's after next weekend when they pick up the pods

Did pretty well with keeping things under control until we went to a friends 50th anniversary party. Drank more than I should have, probably ate more than I needed to but I was hungry. 

Posting was done at pre MiLB job numbers

Sleep went well, doing better at making sure I'm getting to bed on time, my sleep tracking app sometimes needs to be told I'm not staying awake until 1am.

Extra stuff was also done today  

 

Going to spend some time this week making sure everything is packed up and ready to go, as well as finalizing a lot of last minute items.

You can get a self-inflating mattress pad that is lightweight and quite comfortable. I got this one. I slept on it on a very hard floor at the monastery, and it was comfy. I used my comfy old sleeping bag on top.

 

You can get ones that are smaller and lighter, but you will pay more.

I'm struggling to find the energy to finish everything up here at the house...probably because I'm dreading the two weeks at my MIL's...I know it won't be as bad as I fear but I just don't want to be there

Can you bring a bunch of DVDs and podcasts along with you? That would let you say "there is this great show I've been wanting to watch, I think you might enjoy it..." and direct the activities to things you can tolerate.

Everything is packed...they spend most of their time watching tv and playing Facebook games...it will be fine, I'll just lock myself in the room and work late

They went good, crop is packed and the interviews were virtual

I know I'm late with this update but it's been a heck of a week and I've been staying at the MIL's since Saturday...

I heard from the Payroll/Accounts Payable Accountant position, this is a hybrid position for a global company, depending on where we find a house in the Atlanta area I may only have to go into the office on occasion. I did want the job I interviewed for Monday, mostly for the "coolness" factor (it was for the Globetrotters) but I believe this one is going to be the better choice overall. I start on 10/4/21, the day after I get to ATL!
