Firstly, it takes effort to stay up there.

I've felt off balance for a bit.  Lot's of changes and stuff.  Can I get back to knowing what's what?  Last time I felt like I was skipping along smoothly I had a solid plan.  Thus, make a plan, and move on forward with baby steps.

Goals:

  • learning
  1. finish knitting a sweater (even if I'm not convinced I'll like the finished product)
  2. work on crochet sweater
  3. do knit vs crochet samples for work (also can I figure out how to adapt one pattern to other technique)
  4. study and become more comfortable with fancy sewing machines

  • physical
  1. find a Darebee strength plan or adjust my own during this adapting phase
  2. run just to run
  3. stretch
  4. daily dare

  • mental
  1. create a cleaning plan  (get MrC involved with this)
  2. meditate/mindfulness
  3. use checklists again

The most important thing will be getting the daily checklists set up.  If I do 10 min/day of picking up and cleaning, I know I will feel better, but without that checklist I don't do it.  Stretching needs constant reminders too.  Why can't I just do the things without a list?  Life's mysteries are mysterious.

I will report back tomorrow when the daily list is done.

Holy Sheep Shoot, I'm tired.  Today was the anniversary sale day at the shop I recently started working for.  I Am So Tired.  Ripping/cutting fabric and being cheerful is work.  I'm counting it as my fitness for the day.  Fabric is heavy, y'all.  And only sitting down for a quick lunch in 7 hours....  phew!  Fun day, though.  And the owner gave us all a very generous store credit as a reward for a great day.  Time to splurge on expensive fabric/yarns/fancy tools.

I've had to be away from my house for two nights so my usual checklist is a bit lacking in but perfection is not the goal in impossible situations.  I'll try to get back to the proper tasks tomorrow.  I may even share my daily checklist for accountability if you nerds are lucky ;) .

I intend to check in with NFpeeps over coffee tomorrow.  If I type it, it will happen.

Oh!  I almost forgot to share!  I tried on my 'goal pants' today....  You know, those pants in the back of the closet that you always liked how they fit but could no longer wear...   because I was out of clean jeans, and they fit!  Not "I could squeeze in" but really fit!  They are definitely dated.  It's been a while.  lol

edit to add that while they were the "goal pants" they no longer had the weight of importance or happiness or whatever that they used to.  At the time I set the goal it was about weight, but weight is no longer the thing (thanks in part to NF) health and happiness are the thing.

Most of my ideas are adaptations from other nerds, so borrow, borrow, borrow, my friend.

I tried playing with some old machines about a year ago, but my brain just couldn't then.  I should revisit them.  Good idea!

... look at you sneaking in with a new name.  You had me confused at first :)

Today was the beginning of the great house plant migration.  It's officially autumn.

Still need to make a pot of chili tonight for lunches this week.

I'm thinking I should add 3 days of NF check-ins and make a point of seeing what other's are up to.

Yeah, I abandoned the whole FlyingAccountant thing, what with the whole "flying" part not...ahem...well...not getting off the ground. ;)

A quick revisit here:

Goals:

  • learning I have only put time into studying the fancy machines.  My crochet work needs some serious counting to see where I went astray.  And the knitting needs a quick size check before I continue, I just haven't yet.  The idea of putting on wool, even for a short time, sounds awful right now.
  1. finish knitting a sweater (even if I'm not convinced I'll like the finished product)
  2. work on crochet sweater
  3. do knit vs crochet samples for work (also can I figure out how to adapt one pattern to other technique)
  4. study and become more comfortable with fancy sewing machines
  • physical  Strength now matches run in mindset.  Do it just because movement feels good.  I need to focus my stretching but at least I've done some.
  1. find a Darebee strength plan or adjust my own during this adapting phase
  2. run just to run
  3. stretch
  4. daily dare

  • mental  There isn't an official cleaning plan, but we've been better at cleaning a bit at a time.  I've continued to try to be in the moment at least for a bit every day.  Checklists are my friends and I'm happy to return them.
  1. create a cleaning plan  (get MrC involved with this)
  2. meditate/mindfulness
  3. use checklists again

I had to remind myself of a very challenging lesson last weekend.  If you request someone to help you, say with cleaning or meal planning, you need to accept their quality of work or plan, even if it isn't to your own standards.  MrC joined in the cleaning.  It's better than it was.  That is enough.

I hit my 1 gallon donation level yesterday!

I'm still trying to work on this whole mental energy/ focus level thing.  I keep feeling like I don't have enough time to do what needs to be done in a day and week.  Besides the obvious year and more of worldwide stress taking it out of all of us, one of my triggers is how dark our living room is all day.  Being in there makes me feel like the day is over even if it's only noon.   I/we need to figure out how to add more light to that room.

Combine that with the weird idea that I have to have all my own things done by 5pm so I can be with MrC after work.  But I know logically that makes no sense.  I don't even know where that idea came from.

I focused on actively addressing form and muscle recruitment in my strength work (esp pull up prep) on Sunday, and I still felt it 4 days later, which was supposed to be my next strength day.  I take that as I should do that more often.  Tomorrow is my next and I'll try that again.  Hopefully I'll be able to recover a bit more quickly.

Golf was a struggle today.  I'm ready for a golf break.  I enjoy it well enough when I focus on the fact that I'm outside, spending time with my dad since we don't seem to have a lot in common anymore and he is so  pleased every week to play together.  It just eats up so much time given I have an hour commute on top of play time.  I reread that.  Clearly I need to change my mindset to a less negatively based thought process.  New goal for next week!

On to the weekend!  Wow. So relax. Much walks.  some clean.
