Alanna
I disappeared for a few months due to life craziness. Unfortunately the craziness continues as my partner and I have an unplanned house move in a few weeks, so I need to try to maintain my health and sanity despite the continued stress! If only moving house was this easy... Goal 1: Yoga Do a yoga session (of any length) at least 4x/week Usually I gravitate towards strength training and walking for exercise, but I'm going to focus on yoga for the near future because 1) I need a less intensive form of exercise, 2) I've been getting some niggling knee pain (probably from muscle stiffness/imbalances), 3) the cold and dark evenings are not a great incentive for regular walks, and 4) it will help me remember to breathe! Goal 2: No processed sugar I should probably avoid eating fire demons, too. Goal 3: Don't disappear Update my challenge at least 5x/week (but apologies in advance if I am slow to respond to replies!) 5 Quote -:- THE LIONESS -:- Challenge 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10, 2.11, 2.12 Link to comment

I don't - I would probably benefit from more of a routine, but it's not going to happen right now with the moving craziness. It's something to work on next year! Zero Week, Monday Yoga: none today (1/4) No processed sugar: check (2/7) Don't disappear: check (2/5) Moving progress: My husband and I got a few cardboard boxes from our corner shop today - they are in quarantine for now and will be packed with books later this week. I also found a couple of cheap, colourful woven runner rugs on Gumtree (UK equivalent of Craigslist). Our next flat is unfurnished and doesn't have carpets, so they'll be a nice addition for comfort and decor. 3 Quote -:- THE LIONESS -:- Challenge 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10, 2.11, 2.12 Link to comment

It's a mixed bag - we really wanted our next move to be to our first (i.e., owned) house. It's a really strong sellers market right now, though, and our landlord sold the flat that we currently rent before we could get an offer accepted on a house 🙄. So, we are being evicted. Luckily a friend/colleague offered us a nearby flat to rent on a flexible basis as we continue our search, as we didn't want to sign a year long contract (and the rental market here is also crazy - tenants are bidding on rental properties because there is such a short supply!!). If all goes well, we'll be moving again in 2022 to a much more permanent home. On the plus side, since the new flat isn't furnished and we don't have much furniture, maybe I'll use the extra space to finally work on handstands 😆. 3 Quote -:- THE LIONESS -:- Challenge 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10, 2.11, 2.12 Link to comment

That's tough ☹️ I hope the flat is comfy and that you have success in your search for a permanent place. And handstands sound like an excellent project 🙂 1 Quote Let cheese and oxen and mead crowd out our secret desires for power and domination - Harriet the Viking Just be bold, fluid and unapologetic, not small, hairy and indecisive - Harriet the Artist You can absorb me! - Harriet the Contextless Guru Link to comment

I need to find some silver (upside-down?) linings in this mess! We don't really have free wall space in our flat between furniture and radiators. Alanna
Zero Week, Friday I want to try out the emoticon tiles that people use for tracking goals, because I'd like to see how my progress is distributed across the week. Since the theme is Howl's Moving Castle(/I'm moving house), I'll go with 🏰 completed ◻️ TBA/did not do 🏚️ missed (only applicable for my daily goal, which is the no processed sugar one) So, for this week so far: Su M Tu W Th F Sa Yoga: 🏰◻️🏰◻️🏰◻️◻️ (3/4) No processed sugar: 🏰🏰🏰🏰🏰🏰◻️ (6/7) Don't disappear: 🏰🏰🏰🏰🏰🏰◻️ (6/5) Didn't do much moving-wise today, but yesterday I packed my skating equipment and also used some colourful paper to tag boxes by how fragile/heavy they are: green = heavy and not fragile, needs to be packed on the bottom (mostly books) yellow = not particularly fragile, but shouldn't go on the very bottom under a bunch of weight orange = fragile but can take some weight/movement pink = fragile, handle carefully and if they should be unpacked in the new flat (blue) since we're going to leave some unnecessary stuff like not-to-be-reread-soon books packed for the hopefully upcoming 2nd move. The colour tags are a lot easier to see than writing or marker colours, so hopefully it will make moving day easier. 4 Quote -:- THE LIONESS -:- Challenge 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10, 2.11, 2.12 Link to comment

To Be Available (sorry, I thought that was the standard abbreviation!) - i.e., I can't predict the future, so I can't fill out Saturday yet in this case. And for days that have passed, it's a neutral "did not do" - because I'm not aiming to do yoga every day anyway . I have the sum and the goal counts (sum/goal) on the far right for reference. Hopefully that makes sense - I was trying to figure out the best way to use this visualisation for non-daily goals without labelling the days off as "fails" and while still having a 3 x 7 grid! Helps me check that I'm not leaving yoga until the end of the week, for example. I suppose I could leave the future days blank, but it's nice seeing the squares of opportunity. Haha, thanks - and I enjoy the use of "castling" as a verb outside of chess! 3 Quote -:- THE LIONESS -:- Challenge 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2.10, 2.11, 2.12 Link to comment
