Oooh

Whenever the rules say "no pets on the race course" I always want to bring my parrotlet on my shoulder and say it's a decoration.

As a self identified Ranger who mostly does scout-like training this made me laugh

Good so far! I am also trying to convince coworkers to run a 5K together in the spring (pandemic allowing)

Hi Radost! It'll be a good year for running I think.

Yay new challenge!

Multiclassing into scout this challenge because I’ll be training on my stationary bike/ Zwift. Not sure if anyone else has used Zwift but it seems pretty cool way to make winter/inside workouts more interesting

Ooh, Zwift looks pretty fun. Definitely one of the things I liked about gym workouts in the before times was using the elliptical with the video tours! Do you get xp to spend on your avatar and stuff?

Yes! So far it looks like I get XP based on calculated distance travelled. That unlocks different outfits. It also looks like you get in game currency for bikes which also have options that unlock as you level up. It’s pretty cool so far.

I’m generally not a big fan of monthly subscription costs but if it’s getting me more active in the winter that is worth it lol

Good! Finding all of the good bike trails. My current challenge doesn't have any distance-related goals, but I'm still looking to put in some miles B)

Just ordered a new pair of running shoes after a 2+ year hiatus. I had been doing half marathons and was in training for a marathon relay when all events got cancelled. This time around I think I'll stick with 5ks and focus more on getting my mile time down.

check check - any scouts around?  Everyone's out running, swimming, or biking the ... that's cool.

I've been off doing back to back marathon training myself.  It takes up a LOT of time.

Ran Oakland back in March at a 5hr 55 min 54sec,  and I ran the San Francisco Marathon this past Sunday in 5hr 29min 07sec. I'm rather happy to have shaved 26min 47 seconds off my previous time.

Any who - not sure what's next, think I'll be hanging up my marathon shoes and get back to shorter distances.

I did until I got a Garmin.  I still use their site to make/check routes

oh oh don't forget to engage the glutes while running, you should be used to it from kb swings

Thanks! I didn’t know you could make routes, I’ll have to check that out :)

can’t say I ever consciously engage my glutes when doing swings.. doesn’t it happen automatically when running?
