Hallo hallo friends, new and old - welcome to our first challenge of 2022

Challenge How-To:

For those who have done challenges before, the only change here is that we've slightly updated the FAQ - and included guild chat and discussion threads information. 

 

Guild Chat and Discussion Threads:

I'm still just starting to dig into the survey feedback, but one big thing here that I already know is a theme is that you'd like more spaces to chat with your guild members, as well as have an easier way to get to know each other and meet new guild members. 

 

So for this challenge, I've created a general chat thread for each guild. These are linked to above, and you can also find them under 5 WEEK CHALLENGES on the main subforum page. 

 

You'll also see these threads show up at the bottom of your main challenge feed. 

 

This is not perfect, but I wanted to do something now for this challenge and this was the best available solution   We may do the same or something different next challenge - it's an experiment

 

If you're a seasoned challenger, please also follow the Level 1 Guild Chat Thread- and help out our new rebels as you can!

 

Adventure Parties and PVP Challenges:

If you're looking to find some challenges, friends, or accountability partners outside of your guild or the main forum, head over here Sometimes the main challenges can be overwhelming, but one of the best ways to make new friends outside of the guilds is to take part in a PVP challenge or join an adventure party  

 

2022 Challenge Dates

These are the dates for the challenges for the rest of 2022 - we'll be sticking with the same 5 week format with a mini challenge at the end of the year in December. 

 

Forum Survey

Just in case you haven't seen it yet, please fill out this survey  I kept it pretty open ended so YRMV - but others have said it takes around 10 minutes to complete.

On the main page for the current challenge, I’m not seeing the “add a topic” button. Do we need to choose to nest our challenge in a guild thread this go-around?

Nope, it's the button that says "Create Your Challenge" in the upper right hand corner:

Thanks for the screen shot.

That button isn’t showing up on my screen, which is what I was pointing out.

 

I was able to post a topic in the main thread using the large grey plus sign at the very top of the banner.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't be showing up for you, and don't have the ability to edit the code in that part of the forums, so I added a link to the top of the page under the  '5 Week Challenges' header for you (and in case anyone else is experiencing the same)

Mobile screen is narrower and the button disappears.

One thing that can help is to turn your screen landscape - that will give you more real estate to work with

 

The new link should work for everyone who is having this issue and can't see it, and it's linked to above in my initial post now as well.

FYI, I'm on a laptop and clicking the 'Challenges/Current Challenge' in the header sends me to the prior challenge as well. From their I followed breadcrumbs to the new one.

Pandemic aside (and it’s a BIG aside!), 2021 was a really great year for me and I like where I am. But now that I’ve found my feet in my new world, I’m ready level up in my fitness goals again, and I’m enjoying the return of the light.

If you tagged each of the guild chat threads with the appropriate guild tag, would they show up when filtering by guild?

This - and can you open up the tag field by default to remind folks that it's needed (even if not "required")?

That's a great idea - I just have to update the activity streams, so an easy fix - I can do this later today

 

EDIT: I just did it now, so it's done!

Unfortunately this isn't something I have the ability to change - it's there or not, and those are my only options (great idea, though!)
