Just realized I reached my birth year in challenges, not in a place I thought I would be at this point 🤔

Can't really control pandemics, life challenges, moves, and changes in schedule...I can't stop having to return to FL every four weeks, so lets work with that.

I can control what I do and how I handle these things. Not much has changed with my challenges over the last few years, when I do it how I plan, it works, when I don't, I get where I am now 😕 

 

The Plan...

Cardio - 8,000 steps a day (includes 30 min on treadmill), and one kettlebell workout a week

Update - Post in thread three times a week.

Track - Sleep (7 hours a night) and  Food (hunger cues, tracking)

Extra - Rides, 5k's, events, and life events go here

Done - 🌈

Not Done - ❄️

 

My biggest issue is making excuses for myself to not do these things, justifying overdoing things like food and alcohol, and letting stress overwhelm me so I lay awake and let the squirrels run amok. 2022 is going to be more about recognizing when I'm sabotaging my efforts and work on getting back to where I was.

Exactly, the new and improved version!! That may or may not be my next challenge title...🤔

 

So my insurance has a free year subscription to the Peloton app, I've spent most of today discovering classes and challenges that don't require equipment or use stuff I already have :D

Finally, I swear this has been the longest week ever

To top it all off, D is running a low grade fever, several people she works with have Covid (all vaccinated) we are both vaccinated and boosted...and I'm pretty sure we both have it. Hopefully I'll be able to pick the tests up tomorrow that I ordered and we can find out for certain...not that it will make a difference at this point, but I hope we don't just because of her mom being here (who has COPD)

 

The Plan...Week 0

Cardio - Treadmill three times a week at least 20 minutes, and one strength training - ❄️🌈🌈❄️

Track - Sleep (at least 7 hours a night) 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈 and  Food (eat when hungry, stop when full, track to be mindful) - 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

Order canceled because they were out of tests...once the storm came through I feel okay. I work from home though so not an issue there even if I do have it.

 

I missed doing this on my actual Nerdiversary...which was yesterday

I hear you on wanting to be careful for D's mom's sake. My mom has COPD too and this year has been rough for her. She has to use oxygen if she wears a face mask.

 

Whatever you caught, I hope it is mild and gone soon.

D's mom isn't that bad fortunately, I know she does breathing treatments daily and is on several medications for it. She gets winded easily (like getting out of the chair easily) so would rather not wear a mask, but does it anyway.

I'm not really sure what we have since finding a test is impossible and no appointments to be had for weeks. Stuffy nose, sore throat, headaches, and general blah feeling are the major symptoms we're having. Which could be the new variant or sinus/allergy issues. D did run a mild fever and has had several drivers out with it...yet another reason I questioned the wisdom of her mom staying a week but it's too late to change that now...

I am happy to report I survived the weekend and don't have to return to FL for 4 weeks, never thought I'd be happy to say that! :lol: 

 

The Plan...Week 1

Cardio - Peloton 2 You can run, 2 Beginning strength program workouts per week - 🌈❄️🌈🌈

Update - Post in thread three times a week. - 🌈🌈🌈

Track - Sleep (at least 7 hours a night) 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈 and  Food (eat when hungry, stop when full, track to be mindful) - 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈 

Extra - Rides, 5k's, events, and life events go here - Was a FL weekend, got the nails done Saturday

 

If you think you're seeing a change in the challenge, you're right. I updated the Cardio. My insurance includes a year subscription to the Peloton app and I've discovered programs :D I've joined two that fit in with what I want to do. Last night D and I were joking around, and I pulled a beautiful fall and smacked my ribcage (on the right side of course, where the pain is pretty consistent anyway) on the arm of one of the couches. It happened so fast I don't even know what I did but I'm in a lot of pain still today. We'll see if that affects my workout today.

Update: didn't get my workout done yesterday, did go to the chiropractor and he thinks it's either bruised or separated...which is better than fractured.

I am still very tender today but got my treadmill workout done!

So I had to call an audible this week...the amount of pain I'm in on a daily basis is ridiculous on a good day, put that with my rib (better than it was, still not 100%) and my gums deciding to swell on one side of my mouth (my teeth have always been great, my gums, not so much)  the treadmill workouts are not aggravating it much but the bodyweight strength ones were, I've decided to go back to my kettlebell workouts until this heals up 100%. 

 

The Plan...Week 1

Cardio - You Can Run Peloton workouts twice a week, one day on the treadmill, and one kettlebell workout - 🌈🌈🌈❄️

Update - Post in thread three times a week. - 🌈🌈🌈

Track - Sleep (at least 7 hours a night) 🌈🌈🌈❄️🌈🌈🌈 and  Food (eat when hungry, stop when full, track to be mindful) - 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈 

Extra - Rides, 5k's, events, and life events go here - first of three, very much needed, weekends at home. D and I went grocery shopping today, that was pretty awesome and reminded me a lot of when were first together.

So the rib is still not any better, workouts are on hold until it is. I'm going to try and increase my walking/active time but nothing that's going to aggravate this more than it already is...acting stronger than I am is exhausting.

Yoga sounds lovely, modified of course...It's amazing how much everyday movement involves the ribs, I never realized until I could feel every one of them :(

I was on here several times this weekend and completely forgot to update my own thread 😕 

Rib is better but still tender, been affecting my sleep this week (as shown below) and I'm not happy about that at all! 

 

The Plan...Week 3

Extra - Rides, 5k's, events, and life events go here - Weekend II at home, was cold and I had no desire to do anything, so we didn't. Caught up on the MU (Hawkeye and Eternals) and bought tickets to go see Spiderman next weekend. 

 

Having electrical work done on the house this week, D out of town, and I'm having a hitch installed on my new wheels so we can use a lighter trailer to haul the bikes if we want. (I don't have the towing capacity her truck does, so can't use the big one we currently have) busy week!

I really want to see the new spiderman movie but I am a bit nervous about going to the theater... I wish they had kept up at home releases!

I wish they had too, I much prefer sitting in my living room, with my snacks, and being able to pause it for bathroom breaks! This applies even when there isn't a movie I want to see...

Ribs seem to be healed up, going to actively resume workouts next week, trying to incorporate more movement into this week, which is difficult because it's cold and I really want to burrow and move as little as possible.
