Maggie: Always Half to Go

Recommended Posts

Another Placeholder thing, though this time i'll  actually change stuff later i promise.

Currently have no braincells, but all that's on for today is my Ortho appointment (fractured my arm three weeks ago in an epic battle with the floor, it's mostly healed on its own while waiting to see a doctor, so i think the whole thing basically just got me a free extra week of winter break XD) and then contacting JobCorps to update with whatever the doctor says, hopefully arrange to get back to campus next week.

So! Next thing:

I have to go pick up the WorkComp papers tomorrow after the doctor fills them out. On the 31st, the nurse from the school will come to get them from me and will get started on the reinstatement paperwork. I can potentially go back as soon as the 8th, maybe somewhat later.

Which means that currently on the agenda we have Packing. And some careful exercise. :D

2022 Goals:

     - Obtain Driver's License
     - Complete Carpentry Pre-Apprenticeship
     - Attend Advanced Training in Kentucky (either April or July)

Smol Goals:
     - Daily exercise
     - Drink at least most of my gallon jug of water per day
     - Daily journaling
     - Do Something creative every day, doesn't matter what

i'm going to make myself a little chart in my planner (which arrives tomorrow) and will probably wind up using tea or something as a reward for checked boxes. Or virtual movie nights with a friend.

I feel like i'm Ready to go back and finish up. It'll be about, three to four months and i'll be done and on my way to Kentucky (the next scary thing, i've never been on a plane before) i'm a little nervous to go back, but also Ready for sure.

We are thinking of moving to Kentucky.

My planner arrived today! As did the dvd of On Drakon, which I stayed up Late watching with the fam.

Ngl I spent most of today finally watching the Hunger Games movies (they're on a flashdrive my friend had sent me) to kill time. I had never watched past the first one, which was an uncomfortable viewing experience because I had two relatives in my ear the whole time talking about how stupid it was. This time around, they're definitely not my favorite or something I can see myself rewatching, but they're not terrible. I can acknowledge there's more to them than I gave them credit for as a teen. Also, every time I pick a designated character to care about, they promptly get killed off. I imagine this is what the game of thrones viewers felt like 😅

I have been increasingly anxious and flustered, falling into mild self injurious habits as a result. My thumbs are looking worse than they have in several years and I've a bad spot on my palm as well. Momsauce works from home and takes her phonecalls on speaker, and so theres no getting away from her office drama while I'm here. She still works long hours, too, and has a co-worker who calls constantly throughout the day. It's steadily worn on me while I've been here and I've not done fantastically at keeping my hands occupied when stressed.

Also, mom's boss, whom I used to work for too, ha. He was on the phone with her today and actually told her he wishes he could pay me $20 an hour to come back and do the phones again, just the phones, because I was allegedly so good at it. In reality he's just angry with a lot of his current staff members. I I know he didn't mean what he said and that he'd never actually even consider paying me that amount of money, and also that I wouldn't go back to him for any amount of money, but. The evil wicked part of me wishes for an official job offer so that I could personally tell him No 😂

My old boss periodically tries to lure me back because apparently I did my job so well he cannot find anyone else to do half as good. Which is nice to hear, but also very frustrating because I don't think he gave me a single compliment the entire time I was actually working for him. I have no desire to go back, not least because I can pretty much guarantee that after a few weeks (assuming he made it that long) all this newfound appreciation would go out the window and we'd be back to taking me for granted. But is is a nice little shot of validation, isn't it?

Sounds like a goal to me.

Agreed! I don't tend to have as much trouble with it while employed/at school, i guess due to there being an outside reason to not go there. The inclination will still pop up but i'm better at shutting it down in those circumstances.

Exactly! Ex-Bosses really think they're slick, don't they? It used to hurt me whenever i'd find out he's still talking about me, but now i can laugh about it. You're right, it is nice to have made an impression

Today:

i'm in one of those big Ups where everything is !!!!!!!!!!!!!! , spontaneously made a facebook account, not sure what for. If anyone wants to be friends on there, i trust pretty much everybody on this website XD  just don't call me by the name that's on there.

I'm working on filling out my 2022 planner. It's called a Legend Planner and it has this section at the beginning for setting life goals, then it breaks down into goals for the year, months, and weeks.

Hey Mia!

that planner sounds great!!!! Exciting :) xx

It's Very Nice yes! It's got a section at the beginning to put

What brings me joy and good feelings in life? What am I most passionate about?
What would I do if money wasn't an issue?
What is most important in my life?  What are my personal core values?
What do I want to give back to this world? How do I want to be remembered when I'm gone?
What does a successful life look like for me?
What does a perfect day look like for me?

The next page has a spot where it wants a list of 50 'dreams' from different areas of life, it says not to try to think realistic about it. Right next to that is a 'life goals' page with categories

Health & Fitness
Career & Business
Finance
Romance/Relationships
Family/Friends
Personal Development
Fun/Recreation/Hobbies
Spiritual

and space to pick 2-3 goals per category, probably pulling some from the 'dreams' list to turn into goals.

There are two pages allotted for a 'vision board'

Then a spread for 1-Year goals, picking up to three mini goals for each category with intent to work on them in the space of one year.

There's a 'strategy' page for workshopping what skills/habits are needed to achieve the desired goals, bad habits that need changing, they even have a spot for listing people to spend more time with and for noting negative influences to avoid.

There's a 'daily rituals' page for mourning and evening routines, gratitude, affirmations,

then the 3-month section, picking three goals to work on over the course of three months, a section for what the goals are, why you want them, the reward if you achieve them, and then the action steps.

The 1-Month section, with a calendar, a spot for specific goals for the month, "things I will do to make this month great" with each of the life categories.

there's a "month in review" section

then there are weekly pages with, main goal for the week, habit tracker, work and personal to-do lists, a spot for the week's 'wins' and how to improve the next week.

it sounds like it should be a massive book, but it's actually a pretty good size. It comes with a couple sets of stickers and a little pamphlet to help with setting up the different sections. I like it so far :D

So far in the 'dreams' section of the planner i'm up to number 16. I have a hard time thinking of things to want. Currently squinting at the different categories trying to get some inspiration. Also squinting at the Yearly goal section because i'll be moving around so much this year. From Montgomery JobCorps to Kentucky JobCorps to an As Yet UnSpecifified Location 'Out West'. Let me see....if i go to Kentucky in April, then i'd be in the UnSpecified Location by like....June or July. and i don't know how long the training assignment is. But that could be potentially like half of 2022 as an official FEMA employee. If i leave MJCC in July, that's be September or October going to the Unspecified Location. Either way the timeline goes, i straight up don't know what exactly happens after Kentucky.

I think just finishing the program, getting my driver's license, and generally looking after my health/mental health are actually good enough big goals for this year. I'd like to generally get stronger (so, exercising every day) and i'm thinking i'll push myself to be around people more. Which for me would start with participating in at least one group activity per week, maybe two, instead of noping out of as much as possible.

idk if i said but, it turns out the Problematic RA actually is gone. She quit the week before holiday break actually started, her last day was on the 22nd. I know there'll be problematic people everywhere, but it's nice to catch a break. :3

Excellent use of Yzma! Glad you caught a break with the RA and I think that's a pretty darn impressive list of goals this year, geographical uncertainty notwithstanding.

Thank you! It'll definitely be busy, lots of changes. I'm 25 but even going to JobCorps has been my first time away from home, so post-graduation will be enormous for me  i'm so nervous but also excited.

I cooked food :D Last night i made a stew- roasted some potatoes, carrots, celery, and onions in a pan, then added some frozen peas and some broth. Used a little cornstarch to thicken. Tossed in some herbs (Rosemary, sage, and thyme. Didn't have any parsley, was devastated)

And today i cooked some yellow split peas with an onion, the same herbs as in the stew. Wound up mixing the resulting soup and the stew together. Looks fairly gross but tastes pretty good. I feel like it needs a floppy bread of some sort instead of a spoon. XD
