0. (Something happened with my numbering -__- this is the workaround) Feast at the hall of Valhalla - track food with Noom, stick to calorie budget for month of Jan, move to maintenance from Feb.  fan hulu GIF

  2. Fighting fit - 2 fitness activities each week until the gym comes back. Running, riding, walking, swimming, yoga. Bonus points if I go for a run in LARP garb kitted out with sword and shield to build up that armour fitness.Run Running GIF by THE BEARD STRUGGLE

Eidinn awoke, a thundering pain between her pointed ears. Groaning, she rubbed a hand over a swollen shut eye. She felt like she had been run over by a cart. Come to think of it, she had.


“Fend.”
 

The ruckus of the previous night came back in flickers and flecks as she checked herself over for broken limbs. The group camping for the evening by the road. The merchants chest locked tightly over the funds to restock the (mercifully) empty cart when they arrived at the next town. The men in dark clothes and with darker words who descended and absconded with the lot. The merchant cursing her out for failure to serve her purpose as shield for hire before storming into the darkness. She shook the images away as she grumbled to her feet and assessed what was left. Her bedroll and boots, her own small coin pouch concealed in the folds of her garb, and by some will of the gods: her sword and shield, useless in that perfectly timed attack, but expensive to replace. She flexed her fists, green skin browning with bruises where she had done her best to defend the group unarmed, and picked up her gear. She had 10geld. 10geld and the direction of the nearest town.

Sunday week 1~
 

🛡 FEAST: tracked, within calories, was reasonably good food (need more freggies).

🛡 FEARLESS: very hot today, so it was easy to drown two bottles of water.

🛡 FIGHT: 0/2 workouts, have joined 18ck on the yoga challenge which I will kick off tomorrow.

🛡 FUN: brainstormed some costume ideas. Thinking I will start with an apron style dress for the classic Viking look, worn over the chain mail which is being made and a pair of linen pants I can acquire it should look pretty neato. Had a play with the face paint as well… not sure how I will deal with sunscreen combined with face paint, but have the basics of war paint sketched out. 

🛡 FANTASY: yis, see mini chapter above.

🛡 FORCE: went to the physio and got my new strength exercises. She is happy for me to progress on my own and book the next appointment if I’m feeling any pain, but as I am currently pain free (woo!) I am to focus on strengthening the surrounding muscles.

Ohhh that sounds so nice! I can’t wait to see what you come up with. I Love watching LARP videos on YouTube lol as I’m sure I’ve mentioned. Especially the garb ones since where they go to thrift stores for garb and props. 
 

I wonder if you could do a base layer of Sun screen then paint over top or mix sunscreen into your face paint…or put your paint use spray sunscreen over top.

I am (& @18ck is) doing “move” the 30 day yoga with Adrienne challenge on YouTube. First one in the bag!

I am good at the gist of medical things but not necessarily the specifics… as I understand it, I did boxing too hard and something in my bicep which runs through my shoulder got inflamed and then impinged, so the pain was in my shoulder but the damage was from remembering being stronger than I was and going too hard with my punches 😬 That was in Feb last year, so it’s been a bit of a bugger and I am thrilled to be currently painless. Also super cautious to not overdo things again!

Yesssss, op shops are the best! Planning to pop in today and scout for linen pants and a thinner belt to hang my sword frog from.

Good! CRAZY hot here today, at one stage I saw the car say it was 31c outside and that was inside the shady carpark so I have no idea how hot it actually was. Hot enough that three separate showers didn’t feel unreasonable (one after yoga, one before the shops, one before Mr’s mum came over for dinner).

Very welcome. Keen to get back on the heavy lifting horse, but need to be consistent about my physio strength exercises before I start benching again.

Monday week 1~

Started the day out with Move yoga day 1, did some laundry then headed out to do errands. It was stinking hot but I managed to get the two things I needed and dropped off the textile recycling and the package to the postbox. Came home took the laundry off the line and had enough time to settle a bit then Mr’s mum & sister came over for dinner. A pleasant day.

 

⚔️ FEAST: tracked, but 300 calories over, oopsie. Could have had the iced coffee OR the croissant, but not both.

🛡 FEARLESS: 3.5 large bottles of water. It was HOT today.

🛡 FIGHT: did a yoga, now that I’m joining the 30 days of yoga challenge I wonder if I should mod this goal to be twice a week non-yoga… non committal about that just yet, maybe they’re all bonus points.

🛡 FUN: went to the shop and got the linen pants for Eidinn’s costume.

⚔️  FANTASY: nothing new, still tossing up her surname, but since the tradition is to be name-dottir I might need a little more backstory before I land on a surname. Playing with the idea that she was a gift from the sea, or somehow scooped up amongst looted treasures, and that both her parents are human… still pondering.

🛡 FORCE: physio exercises done, the whole lot, straight after yoga. No pain but some weakness. Ironically the exercise where I press a cushion back into the wall with my hand behind my back (not touching the body) is the HARDEST and doing it for just ten seconds makes me shake from the effort. Obviously needs doing.

My gosh, getting the professional assessment by the physio and all the weird stretches and strengthening she’s had me do… no way I would have figured that out by myself. There was a particular… massage? Assault? Something pokey she would do in my under armpit back rib that was AGONY in the moment (and would leave a bruise) but somehow would release the impingement and I could do things like brush my hair or take down a coffee mug again.

 

So far the yoga was good! One bit I wasn’t quite up for (elevated tabletop with knees off the ground just on hands and toes), but it was mostly achievable!

Yeah, my ears started vibrating at that point too. How did you get on with yesterday's? A lot of it felt quite challenging. I like it though.

It was definitely a challenge and I realised how often my shoulders creep back up to my ears. Found it good and mostly achievable (the plank I did one in full plank and one on the knees, and one of the opening twists is about a half rotation coz my shoulder starts making warning tingles), feeling a bit tight in the hip flexors for sure and the down dog reminds me of them (I don’t think that’s what’s meant to be stretching!), but it was a great one to do after the run.

Tuesday week 1~

🛡 FEAST: tracked and today was under calories by 200 *squints* yet I feel the same fullness as yesterday… weird… possibly because I slept in heaps and so my first meal was lunch. I also didn’t really snack on anything calories dense today. More data for the data gods.

🛡 FEARLESS: drank my two bottles plus a little from some bubblers on my run.

🛡 FIGHT: Did a run ‘first thing’ (aka 11.30), followed immediately by yoga and physio stretches. Felt sufficiently badass. 1/2 workouts.

🛡 FUN: dyed my hair (topped it up) back to fire truck red. A little patch is still a tad orange, so I will keep an eye on that and if it is too noticeable I’ll grab another pack.

⚔️ FANTASY: nothing new to report. Watched a bunch of historical YouTube’s about Vikings tho.

🛡 FORCE: did my physio stretches/strength exercises. Feeling a bit sore today so may have a rest day tomorrow (have the physios blessing to split it up a bit as needed), but tomorrow will tell.

 

One of my knees is being a bit janky, a couple nights ago I hyperflexed it (just laying under the weighted blanket minding my business, nothing strenuous lol), running felt mostly fine, one of the yoga poses made it yell (baby cobra), not yet concerned, but making a note here in case it continues to niggle then I have a date to say it started. Have stuck the yoga bolster under my knees to sleep, which is how I’m meant to lay to protect my spine anyways.
