Silence tomato timers: 7/26 I haven't done anything Went hiking, so it wasn't a failure. I am still doing not doing good on this challenge. Elastigirl Posted January 16 Report Share Posted January 16 Maybe with the silence start with a shorter time? We have so much noise in our world. While it's wonderful to always be able to listen to a podcast, or hear music, I think you are right that it can be detrimental. We get so we don't listen to our own thoughts. I like it this way, its like an extension of me. I understand that this is a difficult and very labor intensive period for me. Its an interesting concept and it really helped me with loving myself. I don't want to silence it. i want to talk with it I want to use less background noise during the day ( less music, less podcasts, these things). A tomato timer is basically a timer to do things. For example: You set a timer of 40m, you work for 40m then you get 10m of rest. Then you work 40m then you rest 10m. And so on.
