I'd just like to point out those are from Texas.

Yep...West Texas ;) where Agave is plentiful, but water, not so much

If you haven't tried them it's similar to a margarita, but without all the sweet stuff...just tequila, lime, and water

Mead please, barkeep!

One of my friends found a local meadery and we go from time to time. Some of them are too sweet for my tastes (well, they were too sweet for my pre-pregnancy tastes, the abundance of baked goods and chocolate that people brought me after The Tragedy has significantly upped my sweet tooth) but some of them are sheer deliciousness. We went last week and my favorite was an orange blossom bourbon barrel aged mead (sweet but not jammy, mouthfeel was fresh and crisp), and a pineapple nectarine fruit wine (with a hint of effervescence). A few weeks ago my friend brought a bottle of their collab with a San Diego coffee roaster which was a caramel macchiato mead and holy macaroni my dudes it was good.

I mixed some of their triple berry mead (which is legit like jam in the form of alcohol, very strong berry flavor, almost syrupy mouthfeel) with a very dry floral orange blossom mead I didn't love, "for research" because I put in one of my novel projects a kind of mead mixed with berries and herbs. But they'll happily mix meads for you, say if you want some of the lime-agave mead with a splash of habanero mead to make a spicy margarita mead...

Wowza that sounds good, I have never heard of a  meadery before your posts. I don't drink much, but that's on my bucket list to try a few of them .

Also just realized this is an appropriate question to show off my new water cup:

Hello fellow nerds! I am behind on getting my challenge up this go round, and probably won't have it until just before it actually starts. I'm trying to revamp some things to hopefully help keep me going on the progress I have been making.

In the meantime, I'll take a large glass of whatever is hydrating and also helps a digestive system recover from a long weekend of eating things that don't agree with it. Bone broth? I think I've heard bone broth is good for that. I guess I'll have a giant mug of bone broth. (actually, that sounds really good, and I might go get that for real :))

New username who dis?

I will attempt a challenge after 4 months of not attempting challenges. My old username was cool, but also very easily traceable due to it also being my name IRL 😅 Now that I am armed with a generic D&D character name, the odds of me actually being able to stick with a challenge should be greater due to no longer having to worry "oh shit, what if someone I know IRL sees this?" because I often used this space as a venting board for when things go poorly.

Still trying to figure out goals for this round. In the meantime, I'll have coffee. In fact, give me an entire pot of coffee, because this generic D&D character has not had a long rest in several weeks and is constantly out of spell slots.

it's supposed to get to 93F here today, so I'd say summer beer is appropriate.

Thank you for the reminder of why I worked so damn hard to finally get a place in the mountains. I'm still pretty far south so it will still get up 90, but we've barely broken 80 so far this year and it is GLORIOUS!

Now.... where did that moonshine go? At some point making mead will be on my agenda - but not quite yet....
