Consistency 2: Tanktimus Reasons That it Worked Last Time

Last challenge worked. I'm going to do what works. Every time I make my workouts "easier" I gain consistency and end up doing more reps over the course of a challenge than trying to go all out and only working out sporadically. When I split the NF Beginner KB workout into the arm section and the leg section, and did each on alternate days, I started being very consistent. Ergo:
Goals

  • KB workouts (alternating legs and arms) 4-6 times a week

 

Everything else is a bonus. I really want to lock down that movement consistency.

It has never occurred to me to go in the other direction (easier not harder) as a strategy, rather than a resented necessity. Go easier, do more? Go a little backwards, go more forwards? Like an arrow? I must contemplate this possibility. Anyway, wishing you the most solid pattern of movement ever.

Sometimes I feel like I am on a lifelong quest to learn (truly learn, deep down) that the 70% goal one consistently attains is better than the 100% goal that almost never does. You are further along the road than me and I follow your pragmatically effective example with delight.

Today is a good day. Did the arm part of the KB workout, had leftovers for lunch, brought leftovers to work for dinner, got a nap before getting ready for work. So far consistently staying consistent.

Today is a good day. I did the leg portion of the KB workout and met online with the dietician. She was encouraging, and we came up with a few new minor tweaks (don't eat at my desk at work mainly). Little Bit got her second Covid Vaccine and was brave yet again, moreso than last time because she was a little nervous today. She got the shot anyway. We had Whataburger for lunch where I ate too much with zero regrets. They have a new Blue Cheese Bacon Burger and it was heaven. I also had a banana pudding shake for my drink and I know I should regret it but:

We took Little Bit to day care for the second half of the day and looked at a couple stores before picking Little bit back up. One of those stores was a liquor store where I got a couple mini-bottles of Gin.  All the Gin and Tonic posts on the General Chat thread have inspired me.

Dinner was amazing. I took some salmon and treated the flesh side with a mixture of honey, mustard and olive oil and grilled it about 6 and a half minutes on the skin side and 2 and a half minutes of the flesh side. It was a perfect cook. I served it with steamed broccoli and rice pilaf (from ready-rice bags).
