But I want to keep on keeping on, so I have set up a challenge and tried to dial it back, or make the recovery and fun more of a focus. So here's what I came up with this time... Bring elements of adventure into life in big ways and small Gish scavenger hunt 1 shared experience per wk of Craft Lunch, Book Club, SF, etc. Complete a monthly travel multi-day adventure - Alaskan Cruise Become a creator of shared, adventurous experiences of craftiness, creativity, learning, and community Newsletter Hobby Hunter series activity Become a person who practices self-care daily Molding Mobility 3x/wk Daily steps (avg 4000) Add 1 self-care practice to my journal per week Read in Kindle Become a person who believes in the vision of my future and makes my story come true 1 item from list to in my home office Complete Will and share For the above, this is what my actually commitments will look like. J3NN Posted July 26, 2022 Author Report Share Posted July 26, 2022 I haven't figured out how to handle what's going on at work, recovering from covid and just doing the things. I'm spending so much time trying to strategize, make things clear for people and simplify as much as possible. I just keep finding more to do, not less. I don't know how you take a big transition and boil it down into bite size pieces that are manageable and achievable. I'm taking all this in trying to make it SO SUPER easy for those that are affected, but taking it all in is weighing me down and I don't know how to get out from under the weight so that I'm not so burnt out I can't even enjoy my vacation. I can't wait until I get to the part where I can start delegating. But that won't be until after I return sadly. Add 1 self-care practice to my journal per week - ❌ Read in Kindle - ☑️☑️☑️☑️☑️☑️☑️ So I did 5/9 tasks to success rate. And two are monthly, not weekly and those are up coming to do's. I guess more than half counts for something... I'm giving myself through this vacation to kind of decide who or what I want to be so that I can come back and say I'm going to be a person that gets up earlier and does some of this stuff in the morning, or I'm going to be a person who stays up later and does some of this stuff at night, or I'm going to a person who doesn't commit to so much stuff. With some potential big changes still in my near future, I'm thinking it may have to be option 3 no matter what I want. The vacation was wonderful, the travel not so much. But I guess it was worth it. I'm starting to understand why first class might be worth the extra costs. Good times with family, amazing weather, good excursions and great views. Can't ask for anything more. So now I'm back and trying to get back into the rhythm of normal life. Wish me luck. GISH is awesome, I love doing it every year, I was so sad to not get to participate fully this year, but I still had fun. I only got one item done but it inspired me to learn more how to do it and get better and use it for gifts for the holidays. So that's always a win. J3NN Posted August 24, 2022 Author Report Share Posted August 24, 2022 I was just debating even coming here to update, but I'm so glad I did, I loved learning about your storytelling. For my week/update... I'm floating along and not in a good way. I haven't been focused on my goals at all. I want to clean up everything, but it's so hot and I get overwhelmed and don't know where to start, so I read and play Best Fiends instead. My walking the last two days has barely broken 1000 steps. Somehow life has just been hard and I can't put any explanation than 'it just is.' Last week regrouping and re-scaling buddies? Also, do you have suggestions on where to learn more about journaling in general? If you just want to look at pictures Instagram, search #naturejournaling or the variations of that #naturejournal, #naturesketch, #naturestudy, #urbansketching. Oh another good one would be #internationalnaturejournalingweek. If you want more details, John Muir Laws and he has a YouTube channel with tons of video how-to's and Bethan at Journaling with Nature - she has a podcast I really enjoy and is also on YouTube. So pick your poison. I'm considering buying one of the books out there for that reason, sometimes it's just easier to have someone show me how first... If you're into SketchNotes as a quick drawing style, John Muir Laws did a workshop on that style and there's an artist Kate Rutter who uses that style more.
