Bouncer Trusts the Process with Pumpkin Spice

Okay so I wanted a theme, but the more I become aware... the more I realize I needed to keep it simple.

I realize a part of me was unhappy that  my long-term goals (financially and health) and my stomach wouldn't appreciating every treat I could find as the fall flavors come out. So a added twist will be trying different recipes/concoctions.  So at least a weekly update on what I'm finding. Goal is to find things that fit that spot but also don't feel like a serving size is tiny stupid.

Simple Goals!

Check in with my NF Coach Goals -- I feel weird sometimes posting here on my goals with my coach since I'm having someone make my goals.... however I found anyway the goals come showing up is difficult (and I end up missing the forums). So using here to be accountable to keep at the goals that I will be doing for the many years to come. 

 Meditate 5 mins a day - Found just sitting and showing up helps, found giving myself a minimum helps. 

Daily Sleep Routine - I work 3rd shift... going to sleep when the world is awake is difficult...  But I have a routine that I've been doing and keep at it!

Side Quests - Maintain my home daily and whatever else in my goals I'm able to do when I have extra energy/time (examples: Konmari, health appointments, networking opportunities). 

 

I'm also doing the LOTR walking challenge, that fits under my Coach goals. 

 

Currently Coach Goals: 

Workout Mon and Thurs

Walk 15 mins a day

Weekly check in on how I feel on Sun

Weekly Meal Prep

1 Balanced Meal Plate a day (weird how this can create a domino affect when I remember I need to eat at least 2 servings of veggies >.>)

Was going to try to back track... but meh this challenge started today with the mini challenge. 


NF Coach Goals: Heck yes! Meal prepped turkey Rueben sandwiches (I love them even when eaten cold) and chicken club lettuce wraps. Realize next week I need to simply it/bulk up the servings. By making 1 type of sandwich and a 1 pot meal (goes looking for instant pot recipe @scalyfreak recommended me!)'

Walking happened this morning, took a selfie next to a 40 ft snowman when I realized the state trail I tried walked next to it... Aka learned more about the city I drive through between my Bf's and my place. 

Caught up with coach check ins. 

 

Meditate: Did a 10 min guided mediation before bed. I've been having difficulty with my overcrowding thoughts, where the whole meditation was me "releasing" all my thoughts while trying to breathe with a straight back. 

 

Daily Sleep Routine: Went to bed a little late, but before noon. Found out my phone as preset settings for: focus/work, me time AND sleep. I used Focus (but found the other settings when I woke up).  I tried using Airplane mode, but work/life balance sucks where I had passive aggressive on not receiving calls for times when no one else showed up for.. Hope the "sleep" setting will work better.  I also bought LOTR 1 (I know their a whole book... but I can't remember the name of the 1st one). 

 

Side quests: Worked on getting everything I NEEDED to get done incase I was called in part of my weekend. Was a big win, and today I can relax. However in the morning when I tried to sneak in an oil change I was told I needed to get my car checked out (the mechanic pointed out my car was smoking at a concerning level and should be checked out by a shop). So SIDEQUEST! A shop I get a percentage off through work is able to look at it in the morning. Also I balanced my budget also and caught up on services that were consultations... which is a relief.

Wednesday:

Coach Goals: completed!

Meditate: Yup, found some peace on realizing it's a good time to let go of stuff

Daily sleep routine: Yup, though a tad messed up due to having to get up to talk to my mechanic and get up to fetch my car. 

 

Side quests: Got the car in this morning. They found build up of oil on an exhaust pipe. Making the smell of burning and look of smoke. Paid for a decreasing so next week they can take a look to evaluate the oil seeping.  

Also maintained my home by doing laundry and cleaning up after cooking. Learned it's not worth me using the oven when it's above 70 degrees. The tiny thing can give off so much heat and make it difficult for me to sleep.

Just realized I'm not even tracking the sleep routine, and kind of overwhelmed by tracking it (though I'm actually doing it... 🤔)

 

How did Wk 0 go? 

Meditated and Goals daily. There was 2 days (I think Friday and Sunday) I smooshed a bag of 2 servings of fresh veggies (carrots or celery) to balance out the last thing I ate for a 'balanced plate meal".

Meal prep I'm simplifying... I'm even trying to be mindful what I'm wearing for clothes because I'm realizing I'm annoyed by the amount I have to clean and fold outside of my work uniform. 

Sleep routine happened but shown not to be a cure for days I just can't get sleep due to schedule change or the sun hitting my eyeballs a little too hard.  I'm low on sleep again due to shift change and going on an evening outing on Saturday that lasted until midnight (old high school friends got together, for a much needed "makeup class reunion," dopamine was good and needing to make a discord for a few of us to stay in touch.

 

 Goals are getting adjusted again to *focus* on what I need to complete despite a chaotic day. 

NF Coaching - Just continuing to rock this, and make sure I attempt a small daily.

NF posted FB a coaching success story, where the guy focused one day at a time. Which is something I know I just need to continue. 

Hour of Self Love - 9 days goal of heart meditation and short journal that I find frustrating. She advised to schedule an hour daily to complete. 

I met with my 2nd healer last night. She brought up many things I have heard from my 1st healer and have felt with my self. She gave me a "prescription" as you would say for the 9 days and email here again. 

Spell Books -  Bullet Journal Daily. 

I'm finding looking at the week and reminding myself I need to sleep... I can adjust the above goals where I need to when I put the week on paper. 

 

Now off to Week 1!

Absolutely nothing weird about this. If anything it's smart to adjust your approach to whatever makes it easier for you.

Updating: 

NF Coaching: I'm hyper focused on walking I feel like, since I found the Zero Week Challenge brought up all my excuses. Reason to have the habit is basically for those days I don't move a whole lot, though I have a quite a few days where I do WALK a lot at work. But not a whole lot when I'm cleaning at home. This crossed over to my workouts, on just doing 30 mins when time was tight one day. To just showing up to the workout. 

Working on meal planning today... realize air fry chicken will be the warm at home meal. While I may make overnight oats and some "no prep" meals that I have ingredients for on hand. 

Will have to see. Want to empty my cupboards a bit this week. See what I eat. All I know is all baked goods outside of 1 serving don't belong in my apartment (as I ate 2 boxes of baked goods this week....)

May look into mug recipes. 

Raw veggies are meh, and I'm finding the dip wasn't eaten last week. So, the pumpkin dip will have to wait a bit while I find other pumpkin replacements (cold brew coffee with pumpkin creamer right now). 

 

Hour of Self Love: So, I do find this goal super challenging. I actually did miss the goal on Monday but made up for it on Tuesday morning. 

Ever since the appointment I've been noticing how my back pain is heavily correlated to my management of being grounded (mindfulness). Which my past self would have been annoyed with, but now with my growth and a new healer saying, "you don't have to hold onto this anxiety you are still holding onto". 

Working out I found this year is difficult to get progress, now doing the mental/spiritual route at the same time. 

Also 9 positive things about myself is a very intimidating journal that is just as painful as other exercises... Realizing I have never been "hey I'm proud of myself so much I could fill a page@!"

2/9 days completed. 

 

Bullet Journaling: Had to check, but I have used daily to get ideas out of my head. Or use to double check my schedule this week. Along with hyper focus on what I needed to complete.

Today I also went to Ikea for the first time after napping. Was disappointed on the lack of "small space ideas" (their kitchen displays were larger than most of the kitchens I have used the last 6 years). 

Did spend 2 hours wandering and can say I don't need to ever go there again unless I can find something exact online to pickup 

Online shopping will be my go to, other than buying a couch. I will need to shop other furniture stores to find a small couch I find comfy. 

Bucket list was checked off on curiosity purposes.

I hit 4 journals and attempts to meditate!

Idk if I said this before but I'm now noticing how much daily anxiety I hold on it. Or keep through my head. Kind of seeing the cage I make for myself daily.

Nf Coaching - adjusting my daily walk to watch the new show Vampire Academy after work on the treadmill. Part of me is like "but you are going to miss the fall colors". Other part of me is like... but a habit is being made for the gym. 

 

Side note my work gym started a challenge in July of "gym visits leaders".  16- 20 something visits in the leader boards the last 2 months. That would urge people to check in... Just curious if I go walk daily if I could just hit that leaderboard.

Week One complete! 

 

I'm not tracking here, but meditation in my bullet journal, coaching app.. and the bullet journal. 

Bullet Journal is sporadic, but I'm finding I'm being intentional about my goals. To the point of having to be intentional about my free time. 

 

I'm keeping on forward, noticing some perks (like muscles waking up) not stressing about getting my main goals done. My apartment itself and job is a stressor, but I'm finding ways to go with the flow. 

I really HOPE I can get my curtains up this weekend. 

My dishes are a bit more contained this week, I am choosing easy to clean up dishes for meal prep. Will get laundry done in some way or form. 

 

Basically feel like the more intentional I become the more I'm like "damn there is really no place or time for hobbies". Along with remembering my other goals: paying off debt, getting medical procedures started, ect. Stuff that I've been holding off all summer because my apartment. 

Realize many areas I need to simplify, declutter, and find a cleaning routine for the areas under control. I started looking up Flylady for assistance on this, something my mom has loved and now "I get the the helpfulness". 

 

Another week to charge on and discover what's next.

Puppy Pumpkin GIF

Pumpkin spice Week 1 - Go to was pumpkin cream in cold brew coffee, I put some into my "cookie bowl" oatmeal that hit the spot on a morning I was just craving something dense/sugary (but healthier/satisfying compared to a candy bar).

 

(Start of Week 2) I ended up covering a morning shift on Sunday and when a coworker ordered breakfast I ordered a pumpkin spice pancake breakfast. I couldn't figure out how the darn pancakes could have so much sugar/calorie goodness and not come through on flavor (not ordering again). Does have me remembering pumpkin paleo recipes that I used to make. Baking is out of the question until the temperature continues to drop (FALL IS here in MN despite the 80 degree days). But I think I remember pumpkin pancakes that would help curb my sugar bug some days. 

Next week my Fall Flavor teas will finally get to me... so looking forward to that!

Isn't it ridiculous how much time life takes up?  And now I'm off to look up this Flylady.  You never know what little tidbits you'll take in that are useful later.

 

But also, based on what you dropped on my page;  I won't be surprised if you've seen this, but if you haven't I'm leaving it for you.  The captioning 🤣

I'm finally realizing why I would get freaked out every time I listened to being mindful. The sudden realization of how little time I have that would end in meltdowns or panic attacks.

If anything catches your eye or is confusing let me know. I will be calling my mom on this now.... it may have taken her a decade to get me to understand but I get why she's attracted to this. 

I wish I had taken a step back with the "dorm cleaning" guide, but I have regrets about my college experience in total (realizing how those time management skills would be nice to already have made). 

 

The biggie of reading over her page, that NF is too me. "Simple ways to start healthier routines in the middle of what you are dealing with now." 

 

Aka will be posting more about FlyLady as I continue to try new things.

Thank you for sharing! I think I have seen this, but needed that captioning this morning inbetween some of my filling procedures this morning.

7 day of meditation within 9 Days! 

2 more days!

Has it been easier to do daily, nope! But I am here... literally what I write down daily within the 9 positive things about myself "I am showing up!". 

 

Walking daily did not happen Sunday and Monday. 

Mainly because of sleep deprivation of working and not going to my home... >.>

the perk of going my boyfriends was no stress on washing my only clean uniform. Downside even less sleep due to waking up somewhere unfamiliar. 

 

Upside I was able to sleep in today due to my night off, downside I actually face planted into my bed while listening to a show Friends. Only woke up to change into my pajamas when my phone died (didn't even know I was listening to the show until then). 

 

So, working to continue to be present especially since this week my work schedule has changed to help a coworker out (since getting time off for Life Threatening heart tests is still difficult). 

Upside I will have Saturday night off, which happens to be my Boyfriend's night off/ and celebrating my brother's birthday.

Day 8 of 9! For meditation!

Found out before I went to bed late that a money course I bought back in June and barely touched. Invited me for a free year long course since I paid upfront. 🤔 Universe works on strange ways that I'm now figuring out how to incorporate the course daily (another Bujo section I see). It has coaching in a way I wouldn't spend again...  I would be smart if I fully take advantage of this! *time management anxiety*

Boyfriend perked up when I brought up trying to figure out a cleaning routine. I will be taking my time for 31 baby steps. I forsee us doing him a plan of 31 weeks if he is able to move through the first step.... (the step recommends putting dishes away and the dishrack away.... I have never seen his dish rack empty).

 

So my busy schedule keeps getting fuller, let me huzzah and get back to my chores now!🙃

Just wanted to write quickly. I am continuing my goals. Meditation has expanded a bit, keeping up a daily practice with more journaling. 

 

For Fly Lady I found a Facebook group that is positive and also points out different resources that are out there.  Kind of reminds me gaming communities where we meh on the actual company, but the product/method is solid. Just starting with the basics I have found help spring board me forward that have started large amounts of areas getting cleared. 

 

NF Coaching is still going, I think we are relooking at goals as the seasons change had me  go I want all the desserts". Coach asking m3 my goals has given me self  reflection on what dialogue for my dream self.

Ended up shortly going in a downward style. Found out I have been dealing with infections from my wisdom teeth.... been probably having continuous problems for awhile now.

So appointments have been made! 

My 1+ year long dental quest appears to be finishing by the end of the year.

With getting sick, I finally am seeing my goals at levels in pressure gage. Red/Yellow/Green 

Here I'm going to focus on Red - doing my bedtime routine every day. 

 

If I get 30 days of the next 7 weeks. I will allow myself to preorder Howarts Legacy Deluxe. 

If I can hit only 21 days I can prouder the standard. 

 

Bedtime routine:

Put phone plugged in with alarms on, meds, bathe, floss/brush teeth/lotion/pjs/fan on/in bed/sleep mask on and earplugs. 

Earplugs are the only non-negotiable. 

So far whenever I have done this, I have fallen asleep hard. And whenever I have woken up. I have found it easier to go back to sleep. 

I have no excuses, even if the water is turned off I have wipes. 

 

Bedtime goal is before Noon. If I come home afternoon, I have up to an hour after I leave work or get home to start my routine to count it. 

 

 

Next challenge I'll put in my yellow and green days for examples. But bare minimum I get myself to bed.

Holy crap!  Excellent red day planning with critical back-up planning that makes success achievable with allowances for life!  Dang.  That is glorious.  Also, for some reason I was not expecting your only non-negotiable to be earplugs, so it made me laugh.  I was expecting it to be the phone/alarm.  :) 

 

Fingers crossed for you that this will bring successful close to your dental quest.  That must feel amazing to see the possible finish nearing.

Okay for real when I am too exhausted the phone disappears in the house.... but 90% of the time I have it in my hand. So, I need to have the "put the phone away" so I don't go dopamine seeking for 5 hours when I should sleep... But currently with earplugs in I'm finding my alarm clock is necessary to be on my phone for a workday/appointment due to my earplugs and mega loud fan that I have drowning out the world with the windows open... 

 

There's been a war with my boiler, I have answering maitence but since they don't live here, they can't do much except trouble shoot. Over the weekend I was blazing hot, while today it has chilled due to the temp being at the "right" spot for the boiler not to go "bloody crazy".  (to give you an idea when the boiler is going off even though my thermostat is turned down, it can be a stronng 82 F degrees with all the windows open). 

 

Anyways I'm tired... And honestly if it wasn't for Maintenace trying I would have probably started moving back in with my parents or boyfriend. 

 

 

Thank you, and ended up having 2/2 days hitting my goal. Yesterday I actually slept from 9 am to 11 pm , with an hour up to eat something with my antibiotic  I found I was still tired and wrapped my self into bed, forcing myself up for working routine.

Anyone else throw off their sleeping schedule when their rested?

2/3. I did the sleep routine but didn't stay off my phone. Luckily have a day to rest before work... but found out one of my dentist appointments is tomorrow. 2 back to back. Might be the fillings I finally can finish up!
