I had not heard that the sample size was 3 people.WOW, that's some legit science right there-not. I drink herbal and decaf because caffeine elevated my blood pressure. Also, I'm skeptical of the drink 64 ounces or more a day . I don't know if you really need that much, especially if you eat fruits and veggies. I always feel like I'm floating . Elastigirl
Did the rower in the morning. Mid morning, my friend called and wanted to know if I could go on our walk earlier. I said sure. We went to a park and did a hike. It was very pretty. It's the same park where our church festival was last weekend, and another friend had told me where some not quite as steep trails were. Very fun to see my friend, who has dealt with chronic pain for several years, keep pushing herself a little more each time. She really wants to get back to more hiking, so I'm glad she was able to do this. 5 Quote Wisdom 22.5 Dexterity 13 Charisma 15 Strength 21 Constitution-13 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind' Luke 10; 27 Link to comment

Elastigirl
A couple of notes on yesterday's workout: Did inverted press with rings, which is super hard, but a really fun challenge. And I can see I've improved in the ring chin ups. Today: Did sprints on the rower and went for a walk Zone 2 thoughts: I've been paying attention more to my Fitbit. Not sure how accurate it is. Today it said my heart rate when I was walking was in the 130's, but I could very easily carry on a conversation with myself( since there was no one else to try it on) And during the sprints on the rower, I was super out of breath and it read about 135-140. 3 Quote Wisdom 22.5 Dexterity 13 Charisma 15 Strength 21 Constitution-13 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind' Luke 10; 27 Link to comment
Elastigirl
Feeling a bit sluggy today. We've had wildfire smoke in our area the last few days, and I think my allergies are just making me draggy. No walks today or gardening, due to that. Which is a bummer, because the weather is beautiful. Weekend wrap up: Fitness: Did 3 GMB workouts. On a couple of days, when I was pressed for time, I took 15 minute walks. Did my rowing in the morning. It does take me longer than I thought, so I need to figure out the timing on that. Get up earlier, get moving faster, or take less time doing other things. Life: Did my weekly planning and daily planning. I made a meatball soup for church potluck on Sunday that turned out super good. I subbed gluten free breadcrumbs, and instead of some tomato paste, I added a bit of Marinara sauce we had that needed to be used. Instant Pot Meatball Soup Recipe - Upstate Ramblings Scrapbook and guest bedroom- nope nada, nothing happened. Food: Eating skills- I think so. Maybe just some of it is habit.I didn't pay much attention to it. But I didn't eat like an idiot Today: I weighed myself and measured. My weight was up a little. Usually is on Monday. I also measured. I am trying to gain muscle, so a little weight gain is fine. Measuring will help me see if I'm leaning out. It's been forever since I measured. I keep meaning to, I just forget. I was shooting for once a week. I'm going to try twice a week. Maybe doing it more often will help me remember, and it will give me two shots if I forget once. Did the GMB workout. Did part of the workout outside on my rings. Toward the end,my allergies were bothering me (wildfire smoke) Went inside, but the rest of my workout was pretty draggy. 3 Quote Wisdom 22.5 Dexterity 13 Charisma 15 Strength 21 Constitution-13 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind' Luke 10; 27 Link to comment

Elastigirl
Did rowing this morning. Then had friends over. Then did my workout. For the workout, I have been adding in a set of dips, which was from my NF workout. The idea was just to maintain my progress. But the GMB workouts are ramping up, and I was having trouble by the end of the session. So, this workout, I skipped the dips. I think I am doing enough other work that it will translate. Per usual,GMB's program starts easier and gets harder. Today was ring push up, and twisted ring knee raises, regular push ups, bent bear, and reverse row sit backs for the arm work. I was feeling pretty done by the time I was finished. Part of that may be that I am still having some allergy issues due to smoke. I went on a short 15 ish minute walk, then came home and fixed dinner I made pumpkin muffins with the Simple Mills(almond flour) mix. I love this mix. 2 Quote Wisdom 22.5 Dexterity 13 Charisma 15 Strength 21 Constitution-13 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind' Luke 10; 27 Link to comment
Elastigirl
Did an intense row today. Not sprints, more power rowing .That raises my heart rate, but not as much .I don't think anyway. My Fitbit said my HR was 120, but I tried the talk test, and it was more like the gasping for air test, so there was no way my heart rate was that low. Weather was nice. Air was somewhat smoky, but not too bad, so I went for it. Cut back my hydrangea. Also cut all the dead stems and flowers from my black eyed susans .I saved them and will use them to provide a mulch cover for my dahlia beds this winter. I did a thing in cooking! I was planning on roasting a chicken, but I took longer in the garden than I planned (shocker!) and I was worried that we would eat way later than we wanted. One of my cookbooks had a faster method, in which you spatchcock chicken. Which means you cut out the backbone and lay it flat, so it cooks quicker. I had always wanted to try this, but was sort of intimidated by it. And afraid it would gross me out, because I'm not super fond of working with meat. I've been working on getting over the raw meat gross out, and so it is better. I watched a YouTube on it , and was able to do it . It wasn't as easy as YouTube made it look, but it wasn't super hard either. No walks today since I worked in the garden. Oh, I also did the GMB movement that @Gemma was talking about where you are in the crab position. Then you lift your hand and alternate foot to touch. It requires quite a bit of coordination. 8 Quote Wisdom 22.5 Dexterity 13 Charisma 15 Strength 21 Constitution-13 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind' Luke 10; 27 Link to comment

Leave a couple whole for stuffing, but they are so much easier to clean once they've been spatchcocked, plus they vacuum seal better and stack so nicely in the freezer. It does take a little practice, but once you get the hang of it, it can go super quick. 2 Quote "For God did not give us a spirit of fear; but a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline". - 2 Timothy 1:7 "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us." -Gandalf Link to comment

I do feel like I am getting better at it. Though I also feel like this one hasn't been very successful on that front. But, hey, I figure if I only get to 50% of my goals, that's still closer then if I just drift along with no goals. Spatchcocking a chicken wasn't as hard as I thought. Though I've since seen recipes for roasting a chicken in the airfryer and Instapot, so in the future I may just do that. 2 Quote Wisdom 22.5 Dexterity 13 Charisma 15 Strength 21 Constitution-13 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind' Luke 10; 27 Link to comment
Elastigirl
Still dealing with wildfire smoke here, so my allergies are driving me crazy, and tiring me out. I was wondering why the fire was burning so long. Read a report by the fire department. Because it is in such steep terrain, and because we are learning that there are benefits to letting it burn, just focusing on keeping it away from buildings and roads, they are just focusing on containing it. Which leads to lots of smoke. Hopefully, we will just get some rains in the next weeks, to clear it all out. Did my workout today. Instead of chin ups on rings outside I just used the pull up bar inside. I can hang the rings from the bar, but the doorway is low, and it's just awkward. One of the moves was a front scale(leg lift in front) to back scale to shrimp. That was one of the assessment moves I did at the beginning of the program. When I did it several weeks ago, I struggled. But, today I was smooth. Nice to see I have improved. I wanted to do some yard work, but the air was smoky so I stayed inside. I opted to take a nap instead. The nap felt good, as like I said, I've been draggy. After I finish posting , I'm going to do a walking video. 3 Quote Wisdom 22.5 Dexterity 13 Charisma 15 Strength 21 Constitution-13 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind' Luke 10; 27 Link to comment
