Jupiter
Spoiler I managed to get ahold of someone at the unemployment office, and they confirmed that they have everything they need, but I have to do some kind of interview first before I start receiving benefits (I'm not sure why I have to do an interview, my documentation should be more than enough, but okay). So, they transferred me to a different line, where I proceeded to wait on hold for an hour before the call got disconnected. I called three more times throughout the day, but the line was so full that I couldn't even get on the call waiting list. So, I'll be calling them again tomorrow. I also got an email from the recruiter I talked to on Friday, and she wants to do a follow up call and asked me to let her know what time would be good today. I emailed her and let her know, but she never called or emailed me back. Hopefully I'll hear something tomorrow. I feel a bit "one step forward, one step back" today. I did manage to do 20 minutes of beat saber, but I haven't been to the grocery store in a few weeks and the idea of cooking made my head want to explode, so I picked up a pizza. At least I had points, so it was free. 4 2 1 Quote New Battle Log, Old Battle Log, Current Challenge 2022 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4 2021 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4, Challenge 5, Challenge 6 2020 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4, Challenge 5, Challenge 6, Challenge 7 Link to comment
Jupiter
Spoiler So, lots happened in the last two weeks. I got a job offer and I accepted, and I start in a few weeks. I wasn't super excited at first. It's a big pay cut, and it's not really the job that I wanted. But I couldn't really turn it down either. And after giving it some thought for a few days, I think this will be good for me. I just need to give it a chance. I also managed to finally get ahold of someone at the unemployment office. I was hoping to at least get back pay for the month I was unemployed, but I'm not eligible. Also got another rejection for a short story, and I'm wondering if I need to just set it aside and focus on other projects. On the bright side, since I've been unemployed, I've had a chance to actually talk to my IRL friends, including one that I haven't talked to in a while. I took one friend out to lunch for her birthday, and I've talked to another friend a couple times on the phone. It's been nice. There has unfortunately not been much cooking or exercising, though my scale says that I've somehow lost 8 pounds. I'm not sure I trust it. 8 Quote New Battle Log, Old Battle Log, Current Challenge 2022 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4 2021 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4, Challenge 5, Challenge 6 2020 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4, Challenge 5, Challenge 6, Challenge 7 Link to comment

Waanie
Congratultions on your new job! I wouldn't worry too much about the "not doing"-cycle too much; as soon as you'll start working the cycle'll probably be broken. 1 Quote Link to comment

Jupiter
Today I cleaned/cleaned out my fridge and part of my pantry. I've been avoiding it for a while, but I finally got it (mostly) done. Also did a load of laundry and went to the grocery store. I wanted to get boneless chicken thighs, but they didn't have them, so I grabbed chicken breasts instead. Hopefully I can still use them for this recipe. 😕 Anyway, that's about as far as I got today. 3 Quote New Battle Log, Old Battle Log, Current Challenge 2022 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4 2021 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4, Challenge 5, Challenge 6 2020 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4, Challenge 5, Challenge 6, Challenge 7 Link to comment

Jupiter
Did not get much writing work done today, just found it hard to focus for some reason. I did play close to 20 minutes of beat saber and did some strength training for a few minutes. The dumbbell felt harder to lift today, but I made sure to at least get through half of my sets. Was also planning to cook today but didn't. It was a pretty quiet day otherwise, which was nice. 3 Quote New Battle Log, Old Battle Log, Current Challenge 2022 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4 2021 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4, Challenge 5, Challenge 6 2020 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4, Challenge 5, Challenge 6, Challenge 7 Link to comment

Jupiter
Well, yesterday was interesting. I woke up to a flooded backyard in the morning and have to admit, kind of freaked out a little. At first, I thought something had happened to my waterline, but I realized it was actually coming from my neighbor's house. I went over and talked to her (luckily, she was still home), and it turns out her husband had left the hose on all night, and neither of them noticed. She was able to turn it off no problem so thankfully no more water. It's going to take a few days for my yard to dry out, though. Anyway, after all that I managed to cook some breakfast (just some scrambled eggs with a banana and orange juice) and did beat saber for 10 minutes. I'm still having trouble focusing on writing stuff, I'm not sure what my problem is. I fiddled with a short story for a few minutes, but that's all I managed to do. I figured at that point it was a good time to read a book, which I did. Today was a little easier, focus-wise, but I still feel like I didn't get much done. I meant to cook today but didn't manage it. I did play 20 minutes of beat saber though. 2 Quote New Battle Log, Old Battle Log, Current Challenge 2022 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4 2021 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4, Challenge 5, Challenge 6 2020 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4, Challenge 5, Challenge 6, Challenge 7 Link to comment
