I recommend a tsp or two of sugar to balance out the saltiness of the chorizo and olives - it definitely needs it.

Sra Tanque is not an olive person, I may not get to add the olives in the first place, though I suspect I'll still need sugar.

I don't think it would lose much in the flavour of the sauce if you just added the olives to yours at the end, but I agree the sugar might still be a good shout, along with lots of black pepper!

Friday Update

I did get that training session done in the morning. I couldn't justify losing out on 530 points. After work I read on the sofa in the library while TH was finishing work and then we went to Lidl to try and pick up a light up garland which they didn't even have and we spent a small fortune on groceries that we don't need. This will be a big aspect of the next challenge because I want to eat the food down and make room in the fridges and freezers.

We got back and I made us fish and chips and we played Mario. I had a glass of wine because I had some left from the Spanish chicken but it bloated me immediately. My body is doing all sorts of weird things still - I think I'll pop the rest in the freezer for cooking going forward. We also had a slice of mango and passionfruit cheesecake giving me a detraction for that too, along with exceeding my calories a little but I was still in a deficit.

2 goals ticked off, 6015.4 Hex points. I have 9 days to make another 1500 points and you know what, I think it's do-able.

Saturday Update

It was The Super Best Friends Road Trip Weekend which is always great. In the morning. TH was clearing up the leaves from the back garden as the council stop collecting the garden waste from this week so it's now or never. and despite me telling him a number of times NOT to open the gammy wooden back door that expands every winter and to just take the leaves out through the house, he didn't listen and opened the door which had expanded so much he couldn't shut it again. I was leaving for the road trip so couldn't stick around to solve it so I had to call my dad to come over and help while I was gone. They eventually got it sorted but I was pretty pissed off he didn't listen to me.

The road trip was lots of fun. We went to Oxford because it's beautiful around Christmas when all the lights were on and we toured Christchurch campus at Oxford university because SBF had never been. Everyone was being low key weird in the whole of Oxford and they initially told us the tour was sold out but we found we could still buy tickets online so they did a lot of radioing about to check if we'd be let in if we bought them and nobody seemed to know. They eventually let us in but they seemed weirdly unhappy about it. It was really odd. The tour was great though - the dining hall of Oxford university is where they filmed the dining hall scenes from Harry Potter (pics are on my Insta) and the history of the place is incredible. We wanted to see Cardinal Wolsey's hat but it's in the library which is off limits to tourists and only viewable by people actually going to the university and we're Polytechnic Plebs so we couldn't. His hat looks suspiciously like Raiden's from Mortal Kombat and I like to think that's how he dealt out his business in the Reformation.

Food was an absolute shit show but the Victorian Christmas market we usually visit in Worcester in December was in town. We deepthroated some hot dogs. We ate a doughnut as big as our heads. We saw Gregg's were doing hot yum yums with a dipping sauce (AVOID, they're oddly wet and gross) and we had McDonald's. 2/7 goals ticked off. 6333.4 points. Next week needs to be great if I want to earn that bra I already have. Oops.

Sunday Update

We went out for a fry up in the morning and stopped to grab some lamb gravy and spent another small fortune at the shops. This has to stop. We did get some alcohol based Christmas presents so there is that but I still want to stop fucking doing this. We went to my parents on the way back through for a cup of tea and a chat and then home where TH watched the football and I had a bath, because this isn't a real fucking World Cup and I won't be persuaded otherwise. No way should there be a Christmas themed world cup song, it's disgusting.

Afterwards I made minted slow cooked lamb pies with mash and mushy peas and it was bloody incredible. I also started some kimchi because I finally managed to get my hands on some chinese leaf. We played Mario in the evening and had an early night.

2 goals ticked off. 6259.7 points remaining.

You SBFRTW sounds amazing!

As someone newly introduced to the World Cup I think there are numerous reasons to boycott.   That won't be happening in our house but I'll either be sleeping or at work during most of the games so by default I guess I am boycotting.

There are definite reasons to boycott it and at the same time there is an argument for respecting other cultures. But how far can you take this when they're denying basic human rights. The only reason it is there to begin with is corruption, they should never have won the bid.

I should be watching the world cup in the garden in a bikini drinking beer in the glorious July sunshine, not freezing my tits off in a jumper in my living room. Grrr.

I had to turn it off after 30 seconds.

I'll be supporting USA as long as we're in it, which might not be long, so I'm looking forward to throwing my positive energy behind England soon.

'We' won out first game, but it's weirdly unhyped. There was an option to save up stamps to get an orange hat at the grocery store and the cashier was weirdly apologetic about it. What a world.

The road trip sounds fabulous :)

Monday Update

Best laid plans and all that.

I woke up yesterday morning and could barely move my back so I decided to push the first of my five workouts this week down the chain and I'd still get all my points. Well, these were the best laid plans.

Work was nice, it went quickly and I had the England game on for background noise and that result was good. We had that meeting for the project in the afternoon and we have mountains to climb. In the evening I made a spaghetti bolognese and I read in bed until I fell asleep at around 9:15. I woke at midnight with stomach cramps feeling queasy and I spent the rest of the night with my head down the toilet. Norovirus. I called in sick at work today and I slept all morning and I am still exhausted now.

The 5 workouts this week aren't going to happen because my body feels so drained. But since I can't keep anything down a salutary effect may be that I gain all my points in weight loss.

Everything on hold for now, for obvious reasons.

Norovirus is awful. I got it about this time last year. Hope you heal fast.

Thanks for all the well wishes! I spent all of yesterday sleeping, managed to keep a slice of toast down late last night and then slept right through the night. I woke up still exhausted despite sleeping for 34 of the last 36 hours and my body aches everywhere so I am taking another day off work to try to continue to sleep it off.

We got our guttering finally cleaned out yesterday though - that's something good that happened and we've been meaning to do it for a long time - there was a tree growing out of it at one spot. And apart from doing a bit of cleaning and seeing to the gutter man, TH spent the whole day looking after me and lying in bed with me, watching the football and cuddling me while I slept off the virus. Everyone should get themselves a TH ❤️

I got 4 points on Monday and shockingly I got 5 points yesterday.  6394 Hex Machine points. I have also lost 5 lbs so there is a benefit to spending two days with your head down the toilet.

I would boycott it, except for the fact that I had no intention of watching it in the first place.

Thank you everyone!

I spent yesterday doing more sleeps to try and kick out the virus. I ate dinner yesterday - just some chips and veg because the idea of anything saucy was turning my stomach. I feel much the same today tbh so it may well be chips and veg for dinner again but if it ain't broke I won't fix it.

I had a dream last night I was snogging Stephen Mulhern and I fucking hate Stephen Mulhern so I am surprised I felt well enough to go to work today but I did. Still felt really tired and nauseous but that might be Mulhern's fault.

7/7 goals nailed yesterday (my goals are such that they seem nicely compatible with chucking your guts up) and I am currently sitting on 6958.48 Hex points. Given the huge amount of weight I have lost unless I gain most of it back I'll hit my points goal just through weight loss points. I'm glad I can see the softer side of Noro.
