Thank you! Nice surprise for sure! Inspired by my push-ups I tested my pull-ups at the office and I could eke out 4! Not bad. Not bad at all. Today I was oh so very close to paint instead of playing games. But then I got curious about what level I was at and before I knew it I started a new run. Oops. And then I went to the office for my final day and farewell dinner. We want to a fancy Thai place and it was soooo good. Very happy! Then we went to a fancy cocktail bar and it was just a delightful evening overall. There’s almost nobody left at the Helsinki office so I invited a bunch of ex-colleagues too so it was really a gathering of mostly my friend friends. 😄 Tomorrow might be climbing if I’m awake enough, we’ll see! 8 Quote Link to comment

The best thing about this company really was when I got to hang out with my friends all the time at the office, so I'm glad I could finagle a free fancy dinner out of it. 😄 Our idea of eating out is more along the lines of grabbing a burger when we're stinky after climbing haha. Today it was clear my ego needed humbling. 😆 I've been feeling so good about my dancing, and my strength, but today I got flippin' schooled in pole class. 😅 Hard style was very hard, very fast and I felt like I was back in my first class ever. In other words, I got wrecked. I was scrambling to keep up and I couldn't do any of the moves at speed. Some of them I can barely do in isolation. 😬I then had a second class which is typically more chill since on paper it's a beginner class, but I died. That was a lot of cardio. Stupid fun though, this time it's an Aussie style choreo to Whitesnake. Amazing. But I'm just so very deaded. Can I go to bed yet? 7 Quote Link to comment

The two moves that are a bitch are fan legs, where you scissor the legs in front of you, which I claim is the hardest beginner move ever. (Fight me @Epsilonte 😜) We also do a move where we start facing away from the pole, then swing the legs in front, turn 180 in midair, then repeat while facing the pole and end up in a drop. Mad Hatter
Ok rearranging this challenge because it doesn't make sense as it is. Hey that's goal 1 on the list! The Ironclad - It's important to make decisions based on what's in front of you, rather than acting on auto pilot. Just because something worked once doesn't mean it will work next time. This goal is for accountability and not disappearing and reevaluating daily what's working or not working and what I need to do next. I need it more than ever because tomorrow is my last work day before hobo life™!! We're keeping this. The Silent - One can use many strategies to achieve victory, the important thing is to keep things open before locking yourself in to one. To explore my options and interests I want to read more. I have a pile of library books that are mocking me, I'd like to read daily. We're keeping this too, but I'm letting the library pile go. I don't have spare brain required to read hardish books. Ahem since I'm using it all on StS. This is fine. And all the books are available on kindle anyway. The books I will however miss and soon won't have access too are my art books. I'm going to read/look at the pictures to prime myself for painting later. The Defect - Once you have a strategy that works, you want to really focus to make it scale. Currently I'm all into pole, and lately I've finally started to level up! I want to lean in to it more and do something to improve my dance near daily. Uggh yes I'd still like to do this, though I'm getting very hesitant about performing in the christmas showcase. I did promise my teacher I would when I stopped looking like a goblin in heels, and while it's true for some choreos all of the new ones are hard and I don't think I can get them show ready... But let's keep this goal tentatively in place. The Watcher - Just as the watcher balances wrath and calm, I have to balance short term and long term wants. I've been living very much in the short term, but now that I'm starting the hobo life™ I need to get things ready for travel. I need to make a list of things like canceling my flat, getting rid of stuff and then, well, deal with it. I now have a list and I don't like it. Not everything is meant to happen this challenge, but I need to make a good dent in the list. And the halloween costume I need to make like right now, which is clearly the reason I'm procrastinating on NF. Spoiler Flat Bedroom Crashpad Wardrobe Books Living room Clothes and hats Electronics Hobby stuff Books Filing system aka overstuffed drawer of paperwork Recycle furniture Repair or trash clothes Kitchen Cupboards (incl the one above the kitchen) The stuff around my desk Books Bathroom Basement New plant homes if they're still alive Cancel home insurance Cancel electricity or is that automatic? How long’s my resignation period for my flat? Move CSN monies Travel Travel insurance Where do I register my address? US Visa? Covid booster Flights to somewhere Misc Do I want to buy a work laptop? Driving license? Probably not. Glasses Work expenses Buy shoes Hairdresser iPhone storage Halloween pole costume The Slime Boss - Non-goal I just wanted to squeeze in something something painting and just look how squishy this slime is. This one I'm culling, because it's just ain't gonna happen right now, I'm in the wrong headspace for it. New goal is to only play StS when I'm not tired/careless so I can maybe suck less. And when I do I have to sit at my desk. I think these heuristics will help both with the other goals and my gameplay. 7 Quote Link to comment
Mad Hatter
Costume done, filming maybe done? My teacher is going to see if she can edit together the good bits from where people didn't fuck up. But if not we'll try again. I don't think I performed very well, but it was very, very fun and I'm honestly amazed at the lack of interest in this class. It was advertised as a heels class with a horror theme and apparently that's not a thing people are into? I'm not even a horror person myself but I thought it was super fun exploring a somewhat different type of movements and trying to be creepy. Also loved making the costume! And by making I meant stabbing an old skirt to death and covering myself with scraps. And by old I meant a skirt I sewed myself when I was a bridesmaid and it was really, really pretty fluffy silk and tulle number. It got tonnes of compliments to the two weddings I wore it to, and it also felt really nice to wear, it had a lovely weight to it. And now it's a butchered mess and killing the nicest thing I ever made was immensely satisfying. My friends were climbing at a nearby gym so I popped in to say hi before class. It was quite painful to just hang out and not climb. But worth it. 9 Quote Link to comment

And it was neither slug or scatter really, just a few gremlins showed up for a few hours and todo lists plain suck so there is that. 😜Also pole dancing is hard, especially in heels (you have to deal with two apparatuses instead of one!) and the game’s hard too. It’s all good. Today is ok… I’ve been feeling suuuper low energy and cold and I really, really hope I’m not getting sick! I’ve got plans for the weekend so my immune system better not fail me. Was quite productive in the morning though, I threw away a couple of bags of stuff, and I marked out a space on the floor to simulate various sizes of storage space. I really, really wish Helsinki had the same service as in Stockholm where they’d take your stuff, price it, take photos and sell it for you. It was completely no contact and so so good. I also started off playing StS at my desk, got frustrated, and then I’ll admit I played one or two runs in bed. But only after I had dealt with all the decluttering so could be worse. 5 Quote Link to comment
