Besides that absolutely nothing at all. 🤣 You'd best practice then. I think little but often would be better than burnout sessions but I know nothing of dance. ETA nothing but wiggling around the living room to melodic death metal and or lightly flighty flakey pop. 1 Quote Let cheese and oxen and mead crowd out our secret desires for power and domination - Harriet the Viking Just be bold, fluid and unapologetic, not small, hairy and indecisive - Harriet the Artist You can absorb me! - Harriet the Contextless Guru Link to comment

I'm not sure if being a weak ex-gymnast is really cheating though. Do not compare yourself with an 18 year old boy in physical circumstances; they have crazy recovery and strength gains. It's interesting to see you describe the grades that way. I'd describe the ones in my old gym about the same, except everywhere the number would be one lower (beginners 3-4, median 5b, somewhat advanced 6a+). 1 Quote Link to comment

Nah I stand by my statement, nobody’s impressed by a casual climbing level. 😜 Solid yes, impressive no. 😄 23 minutes ago, Harriet said: My shins (and indeed, the rest of my legs) keep me at the appropriate height off the ground, if that's what you mean. Wiggling sounds lovely. 12 minutes ago, Waanie said: I'm not sure if being a weak ex-gymnast is really cheating though. Totally cheating. 😜 Grades are so so very gym dependent they don’t make any sense. 🤷♀️ 2 Quote Link to comment

I got mildly sick for all of 12 hours. 😄 Thank you body and immune system for being awesome despite feeding you a trash diet of junk food, caffeine and overtraining. 😅 Today I was back in training. Warmed up in a pole plus chair choreo class which was really fun and relaxing. Relaxing in the sense that it was super low pressure and without heels and straightforward choreography so I could really get into it, not relaxing in the slow sense. I still got my sweat on! 🙂 Main training went pretty well too, some sync issues still but I’m feeling good about the choreos and not stabbing people with my heels. Had a nice little moment when I asked one of the other dancers how she did a move so nicely because I couldn’t do it, and the others turned around and were like “have you seen yourself dance”? 😍I honestly don’t feel like I’m on the same level as them but I do appreciate the sentiment a lot. 7 Quote Link to comment

Eh turned out I spoke to soon… I’ve been mostly sitting at home being grumpy… because of a runny nose. At this point it’s so mild that I suspect it’s only lingering because of a stuffy flat, or from the outside when I bother. I’m still boycotting winter which has been going on for like six weeks now?? I hate it. Snow can be pretty but it’s also stupid and annoying and I can’t wait to leave. I’m tired of living under a blanket fort. Getting a bit nervous about not practicing enough for the showcase, but I’m also super paranoid about getting properly sick right before the show so I’m taking it easy just in case. Ughh but it’s so boring! Umm sorry grumpy update because well I’m grumpy and restless. Oh here’s something more positive, I read A Darker Shade of Magic which I really enjoyed. Would make a cool show. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
