Yes! Exactly. It’s heavy with irony. I’d almost think I was pregnant again if it wasn’t for the obvious evidence I’m not. And also my hip/knee problem is actually caused by too much tension, but something about the unstableness in the ligaments makes me tense the muscles so much more and that’s what causes the hip to not function properly and it causes left lower back pain because the pelvic muscles pull on there and it makes me have to go pee a lot more often. Ugh. It’s really not funny being a woman- first we get a week of feeling very insecure and all the cravings, then a couple of days of weepy grumpyness and then a week of pain and blood. And then we don’t even get two normal weeks because it’s impossible to get proper sleep around ovulation and all that energy makes you make too many appointments and take on too many projects which you will inevitably regret during those 2 weeks of ugh. I’m sorry that your back gets worse too. Since it likely won’t hurt to try, maybe next shark week focus on relaxing the back muscles when you can to see if it will help a little? Just in case muscle tension is also at play for you. On 12/7/2022 at 9:41 AM, Waanie said: I hope the grumpiness will go away! It's crazy how much influence our hormones have on our training, I'm sure you'll feel better again in a few days . it will eventually! Probably by turning into weepiness thanks though On 12/7/2022 at 12:20 PM, Harriet said: I like this approach a lot. There's magic in history and legend, too. A lot of magic! More magic perhaps? A lot of kids are actually scared of Sinterklaas or Santa Claus and everything surrounding it can stress them out a lot, so knowing the history could help with that. 19 hours ago, Elastigirl said: I love this approach. I think it probably fits in very well with a religious upbringing, more so than the current fairy tale surrounding Christmas. 5 Quote KB Quest: becoming a decent kettlebell lifter and an excellent coach 2023 goals tracker; 591/5000km & reading to my kids 48/365 days (updated march-22) my instagram - my gym's instagram Link to comment
KB Girl
Wednesday Had a relaxed morning with the girls, first lots of cuddles in bed and then making breakfast together. I read a bit and my 2yo came to join me on the couch with a book of her own. That’s why this no-phone thing is important. I had no appointments in the afternoon so after taking the girls to my mom I had a much needed nap with a hot water bottle. Then had pizza for a late lunch and went to work. Decided against doing my planned training with the iffy hip, but @Waanie joined me for some pushups and pull-up negatives after the last class. That was really nice I even got some technique feedback I wouldnt have found out myself because I never film pushups. 9 Quote KB Quest: becoming a decent kettlebell lifter and an excellent coach 2023 goals tracker; 591/5000km & reading to my kids 48/365 days (updated march-22) my instagram - my gym's instagram Link to comment

KB Girl
Thursday I had a rest day, I wasn't great about my phone but also not awful. In the evening I made a list of what worked for me in my last bujo and what I want to keep doing and what needs to change and what I'm considering to try. And then I set up my future log / year at a glance thingy. So the first thing I actually did to my new bujo was use scissors on it x) I use two letters for the days of the week @Snarkyfishguts Spoiler I have only penciled in the month titles, I'll go over them later with black. And fill in all birthdays and events etc. Friday I went to work and after class/appointments I did everything I could think of to take care of my hip and then did all the kettlebell work from what was supposed to be Wednesdays session and todays session. I would have done some assist work, but I had run out of time. Took the girls to swimming class, had something to eat and then went back to work for 2 more hours. But I'm home on time for dinner on Fridays 6 Quote KB Quest: becoming a decent kettlebell lifter and an excellent coach 2023 goals tracker; 591/5000km & reading to my kids 48/365 days (updated march-22) my instagram - my gym's instagram Link to comment

KB Girl
Haven't updated in a couple days, mostly because we've had a couple of really rough nights and I'm very tired. Nothing super interesting happened. It's really cold here. I've still been going by bike. I did a something for training yesterday instead of all because of the tiredness. Had a nap today so I'm optimistic about training, just gotta brave the cold now Oh and I went swimming with my 2yo on Monday, that was good! Wish to do it again soon. Christmas lights are on point in my neighbourhood and in the city centre which I ride through on my way to work, it's nice. 7 Quote KB Quest: becoming a decent kettlebell lifter and an excellent coach 2023 goals tracker; 591/5000km & reading to my kids 48/365 days (updated march-22) my instagram - my gym's instagram Link to comment

KB Girl
Wednesdays workout was good! Naps are good. Thursday was a rest day, both girls had a fever so I didn’t even leave the house. We just took it very easy. Friday I had work in the morning. Took the girls for a short walk when I got home. They were still feverish but really needed to get out of the house for a bit. Went back to work in the evening, set a frontsquat PR after (sets of 5 with 50kg) and joined the KB class. Then had a meeting with the Dutch kb association board, it was 22:15 by the time we were done, pff. 3 1 4 Quote KB Quest: becoming a decent kettlebell lifter and an excellent coach 2023 goals tracker; 591/5000km & reading to my kids 48/365 days (updated march-22) my instagram - my gym's instagram Link to comment

I'm good now, but it was hard at first. We were doing kindergarten, and it just wasn't working, so I had to drop hold him back again, 2 years. It was hard. Hard for me, not him, lol. Once we dropped back to Pre-k instead of Kindergarten he went from "I hate to school" to "I love school" so I know we are in the right grade. And I have the best phonological curriculum on the market (was fortunate enough to find it on Ebay as it's expensive). It's just hard to watch him struggle. He cannot hear rhymes. KB Girl
Saturday was a long work day with a workout during lunch break. Dinner at my moms. Spend the evening painting the living room walls of a recently divorced friends new house. I've got two recently divorced* friends, where I had none before. They both have two kids, I can't even imagine how hard that is. Sunday was half a work day, then Jaap and I went out for a late lunch and did some shopping for warm under clothes for us and the girls. It wasn't a training day but I did some assisted pull-ups. Today is.. not so great. My 6yo is getting better but my 2yo is still feverish and I now am too. Ugh. Jaap is at work so I'm just dropping all work/housework and just surviving with the kids. Ok I'll probably make dinner in a bit. (*i put an asterisk there because marriage isn’t the standard in the Netherlands anymore, but ‘we’ do have these living together contracts that are basically the same thing with a different name so.. yea) 3 2 Quote KB Quest: becoming a decent kettlebell lifter and an excellent coach 2023 goals tracker; 591/5000km & reading to my kids 48/365 days (updated march-22) my instagram - my gym's instagram Link to comment

KB Girl
Thanks everyone! I think that the sheer exhaustion from 2 feverish kids for 6 days straight made me feel sick, but after an uninterrupted 6 hours of sleep I felt not-sick on Tuesday. I won't say I felt great, because obviously i'm still exhausted, but being not-sick is pretty great. Kids also seemed 95% better. So I went to work and did a workout after. Had another mom over with kids the same age as mine in the afternoon. The kids played wonderfully, they stayed for dinner and I managed not to fall asleep during Didn't go to bed on time as you might expect, because instead I was on the phone with my sisters and my mom to deal with some family drama. (it's a long story but the result is my brother in law and my baby sister (not the one married to him) want to kill each other and they both have reasons). Between my moms health, my sisters health, my moms imminent homelessness and now this drama I'm feeling a bit drained... but that might just be the lack of sleep talking. We'll see. 6 Quote KB Quest: becoming a decent kettlebell lifter and an excellent coach 2023 goals tracker; 591/5000km & reading to my kids 48/365 days (updated march-22) my instagram - my gym's instagram Link to comment
