I was gonna say, that’s why we’re playing 5-day version :) no worries. I’ll probably make you wait for a while here and there too.

Fingers crossed something good comes out of this work situation!

Feeling strong. Workout completed today:
Greyskull (better back), Day 2, Week 1
10:45 PM (33 min) - 3345 lb
Overhead Press
        2x5    45 lb
        3x8    87.5 lb
Deadlift    1x5    145 lb
Chinups
        2x3    10 lb
        1x1    10 lb

...using Personal Training Coach - The best app for training - https://maxtrainingcoach.com

Switched to sets of 8 for press for some reason... I'm going back to fives. 😕

Chins were actually inverted rows, 3x3, but I put 1 on the last set to halt the increment. I'm doing suppine grip inverted rows, and I'll move the bar up to the next slot when I get an 'easy' 3x3.

 Update:

Greyskull done for the week. Friday off for the cleanse. I skipped cardio yesterday... I just wasn't feeling it, kinda not feeling well even. I chose to Write instead.

Pizza: I'm up to one crust and one pepperoni. Yesterday I went to the vending machine and semi-absent-mindedly got a Dr. Pepper (crust/junky carb). Then tonight I stopped at a gas station to refill, then went inside to buy a lottery ticket,* and got a protein drink and a Slim Jim (pepperoni/junky meat). I did the math and I can have one thing every day for the rest of the challenge and still not fill in an entire pizza, so this pace is passable. I will do better than that tho. But one small treat a day is hardly failing.

I'm also way undershooting my overall calorie goals (according to back of the envelope, top of my head calculations). Prior to Slim Jim and protein drink, probably only 1400 calories over 12 hours.

*I only do this when I see headlines for huge jackpots.

Chess: Just finished two games with @KB Girl and @Kishi. I lost both 🤣 I am going to take a break for the weekend, before accepting KB Girl's challenge for a third game early next week. While doing this cleanse this weekend, I want my mind fluid and clear, with no distractions, except Nintendo.

Ukrainian: I have a 15 day streak on Duolingo. I know one verb, 'is' and it's spelled with a single letter that is not in our alphabet. I'm starting to see inflections for gender and number.

Writing: I wrote like 100+ words last night in lieu of cardio.

============================

The Weekend Cleanse:

I ordered a kit of juices. There are 7 per day, to be drank every 2 or so hours, for 3 days total. This starts Friday and continues through Sunday. I added up all the calories, 520/day for three days. Mostly vegetable juices.

Why? I feel like I need a hard reset. It's not for the weight I'll lose, it's just big, nuke to level the city so I can rebuild.

I am taking the weekend to relax and cope with the fast. I will be spending my time moving slowly, meditating, reading, playing video games. At most, if the weather's okay, I might take a walk or more likely do some stretching and qigong inside. I also ordered a kitchen island cart that might arrive on Saturday. If I feel up to it I might put that together and re-organize and clean the kitchen, but only if I feel up to it.

It felt pretty close :)

thanks for getting me back into chess! I hadn’t played for a couple months and I do really enjoy it. I’ve already lost 3 games against my brother this week, so I need the practice x)

Now it's 'G3 Live'.

Cucumber, celery, kale, spinach, romaine, lemon, spirulina.

When you find a great mixer for some gin, and you realize your doing a cleanse...

Oof... that's a lot of ginger.  Basil and grapefruit do not pair well.

I'm telling you tho, throw a splash of it in a g&t with Hendricks gin, and you've got a decent drink.

Sometimes I have a drink and I think "This would be amazing with rum" LOL.  I'm really enjoying your juice reviews! Do you feel more alert and fresh during the day?

Fuck no!

The lack of caffeine, protein, fat, and carbs is making me tired and I have a headache.

I cursed and screamed at video games earlier... so I have energy still, but not refreshing energy.

Pretty sure I'm absolving sins and purifying negative karma and ju-ju as well.

Feels like it anyway.

This one is actually drinkable. Good finish for the day.  From here until bedtime it's just warm lemon water.

Overall, I feel a bit better despite a mild, lingering headache which may be due to lack of caffeine, carbs, or at this point, I think, sodium.

I think I'll keep the 24-36 hour juice fast in my toolkit to shore up a rough week of bad eating. But pushing to 48 and beyond is not doing much. Then you're just giving yourself a headache. The first 24 I had a lot of energy... enough to build my kitchen island cart at least.

I know I said I wasn't gonna,  but curiosity got the best of me...

I weighed myself Thursday night and came in at 304 lbs. 😳 Today I was 290 point something. 😊

So, when bloated I can harbor 14 lbs of garbage. Now I don't have to burn and sweat through all of that in my workouts to get to the fat stores. And food I eat daily has somewhere to go instead of just gumming up the metabolic gears.

Curious to see how my workout tonight goes.

Feeling strong. Workout completed today:
Greyskull (better back), Day 1, Week 2
6:47 PM (47 min) - 5625 lb
Overhead Press
        2x5    45 lb
        1x3    65 lb
        3x5    90 lb
Squat
        2x5    45 lb
        1x3    95 lb
        1x3    135 lb
        3x5    160 lb
Chinups    3x3    10 lb

Workout went as well as the best of them lately. I did get a little dizzy while changing weights between squat sets, but not bad. No grindy or sticky reps.

I got 3x3 easy on my inverted rows (chinups), so I'll move the bar up a notch on the rack.

Then I did 60 minutes on the stat bike.

I need to make my accessory lift to-do list.

Greyskull : Tonight's workout went well. I think, if you'll accept that skipping one workout for a planned fast, that means I've finished four weeks of Greyskull.

Also, I need to take my 24 lbs. KB to work.

Now I need to make my accessory lift to-do list:: [KB subs to do at work]

Core: Lying leg raises, Scissor situps, Russian Twists, Supermans/Ironmans

Arms and shoulders: EZ bar curls [KB curls], skull crushers, [KB OHX] lateral raises [halos], shrugs

Lower body: Front squat [goblet squat], good mornings [KB swings], calf raises

Cardio: I skipped my early week session last week, then did a 60 min session on the stat bike on the eve of my fast. I have one done already this week, so I just need one more.

Qigong [NEW!]: I'm adding a qigong goal. Just do some qigong type exercise while the coffee is brewing in the morning.

No Pizza: I am now at two full slices of pizza colored in. I had to add another crust and a cheese due to some pre-fast cheetohs I almost forgot about. Then I had some ham and cheese in my break-fast omelette. Still at this rate I'm unlikely to fill it all in by challenge's end.

I prepped my lunches today. I made a rice/lentil/veggie mixture as a proteinaceous, starch base. I'll throw my protein of choice for the day with each of 10 dollops of that. I also brined and sauteed some chicken breasts, to go with the rice/lentils.

I also need to work on bringing healthy snacks to work, since my lunches have been running small like this. So some carrot sticks w/peanut butter and a protein shake to-go ought to make it into my lunch tomorrow.

Writing:  I have one week to produce 2500 words for the first workshop session. I should be able to do this in the next day or two. But it's crunch time and I need to get back on it.

Chess: Played a couple of games yesterday. Won a couple, lost a couple. Sent challenges to both KB Girl and Kishi. I studied a few openings and settled on a few go-to's (two as White, two as Black).

Urkrainian: I have a 19 day streak in Ukrainian. I just started learning numbers, which are also essentially tongue-twisters. And nouns get inflected differently for singles, doubles or triples, and a third for any number greater than three... sometimes. Very strange.
