Sovalis
Hi Everyone! Map update: I made good progress on the coastline and stippling around the highways yesterday. Not the plains I had planned but those will go quickly today. I have to work out a water texture and a font choice for the main label. It felt good to work for a few solid hours yesterday. Hopefully today goes similarly well. I had a great game yesterday, so that was fun. Bryon is considering multiclassing his wizard with a dark cleric. It's really interesting that the rest of the party is more concerned with our Barbarian Roxanne's penchant for killing all the enemies (admittedly, sometimes it's a bit gratuitous) more than Bogdan's experiments with necromancy. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out. They destroyed the final summoning circle yesterday, so now they need to track down some submarines and try to rescue Muse's mentor who has been abducted and it being held on one of them. Nicole was alert and chipper and fabulous for the entire game and it was so good to see her in such high spirits and having fun. My heart is really full. I love this game and this group. One of my regular customers just came in and gifted me a copy of Wild Beyond the Witchlight, which is the only 5e book I don't own. Her Dad got it for her for Christmas but she already had it and he didn't have a receipt to return it. So now it's mine. I'm blown away. I didn't walk this morning and was very relaxed instead. I chose to get an egg salad sandwich from Jack's for lunch and save my burrito for supper. Now I'm catching up on forums and then I will work on the map some more. It's a good day so far. Hopefully it continues in this vein! I hope you're also rocking merrily along. Thanks for being here. 🧡 8 2 Quote Link to comment

Sovalis
FRIENDS! OH NO! I have been working on the map all day. It has been a grind of a session, nothing flowing, no lines I like, very unharmonious. And then I go and ink in the name of the capital city - the only name on the map at all - and I SPELL IT WRONG. It can be fixed in Photoshop, but that just sucks for me. I had it correct in the pencil too, and just completely ignored my pencil when I went to inking. Gah! *grumble* I am going to get away from my desk and do something else for a while. My tarot card this morning was all "escape, run away, don't do the thing you intend to do" and then this happens. I should have just taken today off the drawing. Hope you are all succeeding more than I am! Thanks for being here! ❤️ 1 1 2 Quote Link to comment

Ink mistakes are painful to the artist's soul. *sympathetic shoulder pats* Thanks, Maerad. 💜 Hi All! I haven't touched the map yet today. Instead I've had a slow morning, made chicken tortellini soup, and did an hour long walk on my treadmill. The walk is the single longest continual walk yet (2.9) and I'm feeling pretty good. I made my 5600 step count goal in that time, so anything else I do today is extra, woot! I have ~2 hours to fill before I need to head to the store and then to work for the evening. One of my customers on Saturday told me that the Canex will have two people going on mat leave soon, so that might give me an opening to wiggle my way in there. Here's hoping. I hope all of you are meeting your goals today and have something nourishing for eating. Thanks for being here. 💛 7 Quote Link to comment

When my sibling made some mistakes on their map, we went out to find a Gelly Roll white gel pen that’s apparently the best for going over ink…it worked well for them but it sounds like this might be for a much more formal purpose. Anyway, hope the fix goes smoothly. 2 Quote Link to comment

I have no idea how to fix that, but I'm sure it's gotta be possible to fix this or else incorporate the error. The texture might be better for inking over than razored paper. I dislike disturbing the surface tension of paper that way... 8 hours ago, Harriet said: 8 hours ago, Harriet said: Alas. Hi Friends! Apparently I goofed the formatting, so my responses to your questions are nested in the text boxes above? I have no idea how I managed that! 🧐 I walked 8326 steps yesterday and actually felt quite good for the whole day. I was a tiny bit stiff from sitting at work during my evening shift, but nothing too bad. I did go home from work and eat two gingerbread cookies because I wanted a treat, but I peeled all the candy and icing off them and just ate the cookie. This is the first time I've ever done that. It's interesting. The last four cookies from gingerbread have a *lot* of decoration on them, to the point I'm not sure I can get it off. I don't want to eat that extra sugar and am considered throwing them away. This is blowing my mind. I feel sentimental about having made them because I don't know how many more years my Gramparents will be able to do gingerbread with me (they're in their 80s). But eating them is not something I want to do. A thought just occurred to me: these cookies are wildly sturdy, especially all iced up. I could keep them as keepsakes for a while if I stored them carefully and kept them dry. It might be nice to have them for a family altar, or frame them in a shadowbox, or something at some point. I'll have to think more about that. This morning I woke up a little late after strange dreams, had coffee, did my Tarot (all clear for today, lol), and came to work. Walked to the bank and the post office, so clocked 1800 steps doing that which is nice. My right foot is bugging me a bit, but it's not bad enough to not walk today. I have chicken tortellini soup for lunch and will have zucchini noodles and home made spaghetti sauce from the freezer for supper. I really enjoy zucchini noodles. Dave prefers pasta, so I don't have them often when he's home. Brought the map to work and will engage with it today. Would like to wrap it up soon seeing as how I'd hoped to have it done on Sunday. Will walk tonight on the treadmill. My Bujo chat is looking pretty fly! 😁 It's astonishing how having a pretty pattern to fill in is encouraging me to get things done. Hope you're feeling secure and productive today. Thanks for being here. 💛 5 2 Quote Link to comment
Harriet
Yeah lots of Germans buy those big iced lebküchen hearts and hang them up. they aren't for eating, as far as I can tell. ETA I think they get changed every year? so your biscuits could last a good long time maybe. but in cellophane perhaps so sugar loving pests dont eat them 2 Quote Let cheese and oxen and mead crowd out our secret desires for power and domination - Harriet the Viking Just be bold, fluid and unapologetic, not small, hairy and indecisive - Harriet the Artist You can absorb me! - Harriet the Contextless Guru Link to comment

Sovalis
Hi Friends! 😁 Today is a good day so far. Got up, had Greek yogurt with chia and hemp hearts for breakfast, talked with a friend, did my cards, played with Sax, came to work. My feet are bothering me a bit, but on the tops of them, not the soles. I've upped my step count a bit this week unintended, but I didn't think an extra 4000 steps over 2-3 days would be troublesome? Seems weird. Not sure if I'll be able to treadmill tonight but I will certainly try. Had my chicken tortellini soup for lunch and it keeps getting better. I really impressed myself with this batch. Recieved some inventory for the store so dealt with that. Now I'm doing forums, then digging into the map again. I'd like to get the rest of the water textured today. My friend Kim messaged me last night and reminded me of a Zoom yoga class she'd invited me to on January 17. It's $5 for the drop in, and if I like it it's $120 for weekly classes until around March 8 if I recall correctly. I'm trepidatious about confronting my mobility in front of other people, but I'm also trying really hard to say yes to invitations to do physical things. I emailed the instructor and asked some questions and got good, compassionate answers. Turns out they are also non-binary, so I won't be the only they/them in class, which will be a new and welcome experience for me, I think. So nervous I might be, but also excited, and trying to lean into that. Kim also suggested Darebee (I don't know if I'm spelling that correctly) as a movement resource, so I'm poking around on their website. I've also joined a small accountability group from the NF Facebook page and am getting to know the people in it. I think it will be a supplement to what I'm doing here, and it helps me meet my desires to support others on their journeys. We are only a few days in, so we will see how it goes. I think that's everything! Hope you are all feeling peaceful and productive! Thanks for being here! 🧡 2 3 Quote Link to comment
