Somehow I did 139 reps at the competition today :) (14kg snatch)

My goal was 120 and I didn’t even think I’d make that, so I am pleasantly surprised. I switched hands at 3:50 with 56 reps, and I have no idea how I managed to do 83 on the other arm and last 6:10- all I can tell you is that it hurt a lot xD

The general meeting went well too. The board went out for our annual dinner after. We had sushi, it was pretty good.

Hah! I'm doing to many competitions this year to be able to afford a full rest week each time- then I'd hardly have any real training blocks. So I'm only fully resting before the important ones and just slightly deloading before the small ones. Or at least, that's the plan. Obviously things don't always go according to plan :P

Monday I did the afternoon/evening gym shift again for the first time in almost a year, Jaap and I will be rotating this shift each week so he gets to spend a bit of extra time with the kids there. I also enjoyed seeing people again that I don't see on my usual days :)  and teaching my first body control class in months also went quite well, I ended it with a bit of mobility work which was well received.

I also napped in my office chair for almost half an hour (I was very tired, it isn't the most comfortable) and I lifted some weights, did heavy back squats, some lunges and kb deadlifts and pull-up work.

Tuesday I ran out of time to get a workout in, but I should still be able to get them all this week. Had a good afternoon/evening with the kids. We did some painting and cooking together, went for a walk and a bike ride and after dinner I read to them about wolves and then a book on flowers. Their choices.

I've updated the meso planning in my battle log a bit, 6 weeks 'till next kettlebell competition. And a friendly powerlifting meet in 4 weeks.

When I was a child I totally would've chosen the book about wolves.

Probably not the flowers, though :D

Sounds like a nice evening, even if workout didn't happen.

Me too! And as an older child I much preferred anything about werewolves ;)

Wednesday morning was excellent, the kids did puzzles and then had this really cool imaginary play thing going on :) And I went to parent-child gym class with the 2yo before dropping them both off at grandma's.

Wasted some time at home avoiding some work stuff, but did end up changing the avoidance tactics to doing housework instead so that was pleasing. Got to the gym on time for a long workout before work. Did lots of kettlebell work and all my accessories.

Thursday was uneventful. Went to a gymnastics class try-out with my 6yo, she enjoyed it very much. It was a long wait for me (she didn’t want me to go) but luckily both of my NF chess partners were keeping me busy :)

I also went on a stupid walk for my stupid mental health. Somehow we went from 2-3 walks/hikes a week as a family to zero. That’s gotta change back.

Friday I joined the group kettlebell class (taught by another trainer) in the evening because I had to be there for a project anyway. I did a good job delegating. I felt ashamed for not being able to do all the things, not (just) because of time constraints but because things like phone calls and email are difficult for me- it was ok to say that and everyone was obviously nice about it. They may still secretly think it's silly but that's also ok because they won't suddenly think I'm not a good person.

Saturday was a long and interesting work day. I also managed to get in a decent training session before picking up the kids.

In the evening I went to a homeschool moms meetup, we casually made some plans and mostly played board games. It was nice. I’m grateful I was able to find other homeschooling moms with whom we can collaborate and that our kids (mostly) like each other and that we as moms get on well too.

Sunday I did some extra ring rows at the gym. After work we went to a theatre/dance show for kids. It was very well done and the dancers were very impressive. We had French fries for dinner and then Jaap and I had snacks while watching Grey's Anatomy. I don't expect perfect food choices all the time, like getting some fries is fine on a day like this or making pancakes for breakfast with the girls.. but I'd really like to get it back to maybe one thing a day, not and and and. I'd like to be a bit more discriminating in my choices. Not sure how to do that yet :) Sleep would probably help.

Monday was uneventful, my day off.

Today (Tuesday) I was very resistant towards training and ended up running the blah protocol which is just doing one set of a bunch of exercises. (I did ring rows, reverse lunges, pushups, kettlebell deadlifts, single leg deadlifts, walking lunges, Bulgarian split squats, assisted pull-ups, negative pull-ups, ring dips, top position holds in the bridge, waiters walks and two handed kettlebell swings).

That made me feel a little better and I might have done more if I hadn't run out of time due to wasting time with my resistance. Also did groceries and cleaned up after putting the kids to bed. (Listing my wins because I feel very blah). Jaap will come home soon and I plan to request lots of hugs.

Oh, I have also already brushed my teeth in the hopes that it will lower resistance towards going to bed and also raise barriers towards snacking some more.

If it doesn't, you can raise the barriers further by making sure all snacks in your house are strongly citrus flavored. ;)

That would be a deterrent x)

It got me thinking, but I don’t even know any citrus flavoured snacks except cookies?

Today was alright. Made pancakes for breakfast but otherwise good food choices. Did a lot of administrative work in the afternoon, did laundry inbetween. And evening classes were fun to do.

Still pretty resistant against training (might have something to do with the cold and the tired) but figured I’d better not skip barbell therapy again or things would only get worse. I made a deal with myself that I’d at least do backsquats and then see if I wanted to do more. I did not. But I did do 3x70kg for a post-baby-rep-PR.
