flea can has challenge?

Slept on my stupid wedge pillow last night. Shit takes some serious getting used to. Fat Kitty was confused by the setup but it didn't stop him from letting himself under the covers. Considering raising your head is supposed to help not only reflux but also sleep apnea, I should really be using it every night. It's just awkward and annoying. But if fixing the whole "not breathing in my sleep" thing fixes a bunch of my other issues I guess I need to suck it up. Bleh. 
 

- sheets got washed. they're currently hanging out in the dryer because I just can't be fucked to go down and get them. I will eventually do it and put them on the bed tonight becaaaauuuse I crushed self care-ing today: took a shower, used a hair mask and a body scrub, applied all the lotion, and used a weird foot mask thing for dry skin. I am absolutely going to enjoy fresh sheets after all that. 
- got overwhelmed trying to figure out the sleep specialist thing because there seem to be a number of different departments and anxiety spiraled about calling the wrong place and being dumb. :rolleyes: I finally found what seems to be a central number so I will call that tomorrow and see what happens. 
- have not done the box thing. Between the sheets and shower and then getting pissed at my brother for being a fucking idiot, there were no spoons available. 

 

friday:

- put things in box

- go to target bc I need things and the weather will be shitty over the weekend 

- magically get a job

All of a sudden my TMJ is acting up. It's never gone away but literally just now I was eating chips and chewing them hurt. Like wtf body. Ugggggh. So the gremlins started running with that and decided something must be wrong. Nothing specific, just omg something's wrong. That's fucking annoying. Sleeping in my back with the stupid pillow should help but man, I do not need this right now. Blargh. 

I got my sheets out of the dryer. There are no cats on my bed. Here we go.

It's so fucking annoying omg. Since I last posted I've used it every night but one and surprise, the thing they recommend doing to help acid reflux has in fact been helping my acid reflux. Haven't noticed any difference in sleep quality or not feeling dead when I wake up though. So I'm going to keep using it and just keep complaining about it anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/  the worst part is it interferes with Fat Kitty cuddles. I still get cuddles but he can't really tuck himself into my side and that was the most adorable part. Womp womp.

I thought this was the last week of the challenge. It is not, so now I have to actually do something. Whoops. 
 

still consistently flossing one extra tooth every night. The rest of my goals, whatever they even were, not so much.  Bedtime goal definitely not. My alarm goes off to get ready for bed and suddenly I'm hungry regardless of how recently I ate, so then I eat something and then have to wait to lie down because reflux.  Not fun. I wonder if I've somehow conditioned myself to feel like I need to eat something before I go to bed because of anxiety about blood sugar or something. I'm continuing to try eating different things at different times to see if anything stabilizes it. Science!

 

related to eating, I've signed up for a different meal delivery service. Reviewed it with my nutritionist, first order gets delivered tomorrow. Already waiting for shitty comments from my father, whee. Oh no I just realized I picked the Mediterranean diet plan and that's going to be a lot of fish in the microwave. Whoopsie. I mean it's not all fish, but there's enough. Hopefully it winds up being as good as the reviews say. They're all dairy-free too, which is a bonus I wasn't looking for; I'm interested to see whether that has any impact on how I feel given my tumultuous relationship with dairy. Fingers crossed. 
 

I suddenly feel hopeful about this while getting healthy thing. I don't expect it to last but who knows.

Okay who had periods on their "health things flea will irrationally freak out about" bingo card? Because that was a thing. :rolleyes: my period went several days longer than it should despite being on the pill and with worse symptoms than I've had in a while, ergo I must have been dying. Good news though, I'm no longer dying of it. Go figure.  So that ate up most of this last week, in addition to badgering two adults to get their taxes done, holding my father's hand through house upgrade stuff (nowhere on the entire internet had any information on heat pump systems. nowhere. especially not our utility provider's website page that says heat pumps), and just other general stupidity. I started and abandoned so many posts because I just didn't have enough spoons or brain cells to bother. 
 

Shockingly this challenge was not a complete fail. I managed 100% compliance with flossing an extra tooth. I will take my tiny win and run with it. I already wrote out my next challenge on a whiteboard in my room and will make a new thread when I find an appropriate gif for it. Assuming the site lets me post this time. 
 

still using the stupid wedge pillow, still complaining about it to the cats since they're they only ones that listen to me. Tried one of my new prepared meals, wasn't terrible. The rest from the first delivery went bad sooooo I didn't eat them. Chatted with customer service, apparently one of the machines that vacuum seals the meals had an issue. It's since been recalibrated so hopefully no potential food poisoning in the next batch. If I wanted food poisoning I could do it myself for much cheaper. 
 

also I hit a new low. My blood sugar was 69 when I checked it earlier, but "nice" is not one of the four-letter words I said in response. Pretty sure the lowest reading I've had before that was 81 so yeah not great. Obviously I'm still alive so I managed to get through it but like, wtf. Forget reversing diabetes for not-dying purposes, I just want to get to a point where I don't have to try to figure out the fucking mystery of balancing blood sugar anymore. (lbr it's not actually a huge mystery but the fact that I always have to do things "right" leads to me being overly concerned about being in a certain range at a certain time or whatever the fuck my brain latches onto on a given day.)

 

That is the update. Now it's 4:30am and boobcat is running around looking for his food bowl, which he spent the last 5 hours sleeping right next to and didn't want until I moved it to go to bed. ¯\_(ツ)_/ cats are something else.

Decided not to post my thread til I run my goals by my nutritionist tomorrow. As usual I am on the fence about them and will probably hate them as soon as the thread goes up. 
 

boobcat is currently sleeping on my bed with his face buried under a sock. That sounds like a terrible idea, but it's not like he's the brightest anyway. 
 

someone please harass me like mid-afternoon/evening and make sure I've done the following things:

- wash sheets (ugh)

- clean my humidifier 

- take a shower

- and then once the sheets are clean they need to go on my bed but it's unlikely that will happen in this timeframe

 

i also really really need to work at cleaning the entire fucking house because my allergies are going insane and the dust bunnies are all but sentient at this point. Shouldn't be my problem, and yet it is. 
 

anyway it's past my bedtime because I got caught up playing video games. Whoops. I've been having a shit time sleeping Sunday night into Monday lately, cross your fingers i buck the trend now.

Sheets are in the dryer. Humidifier is clean. That might be it for today. I've hit a fucking wall for some reason and all I want to do is sleep now. But I did things.

Sheets are still in the dryer. Ran out of fucks.  Humidifier is currently running for the first time in a week and a half and if nothing else I'm just happy it's clean and on. My father is currently throwing a fit because it's 3:46am and he can't sleep. Which means he'll also be in a shitty mood all day. I'm not dreading it at all, no sir. (I'm already not his favorite person lately because I've been making him do shit for his taxes and the home energy stuff. He's tired of listening to me.)

 

Tuesday to do:

- change my sheets

- post a thread

- wash dishes

- buy a new mattress protector

- maybe put one or two of my prepared meals in the freezer 

- bonus points for washing the sheets I take off my bed but let's not get too crazy here

sheets I washed Monday are out of the dryer but still not on my bed. Can't be fucked. Haven't done any of the other things I need to do. Mentioned cbd gummies to my father and he just said he'd have to make sure they don't interact with any of his meds. That's basically a no. He's not opposed to it but just won't put in the effort to ask. Maybe also doesn't want to look like some kind of drug addict if he asks his doctor about them. Obv it's not like that but that's how his brain works. I'm not about to drag my ass to a dispensary and buy them for him to never use them either. I have plenty of other shit to hold his hand on because it needs to get done; if he doesn't want to help himself with the sleep issue that's his own fucking problem. My priority right now is getting him to move on the fucking house upgrades the energy audit guy recommended six weeks ago. The way things are going I might kill him before he actually does anything about it, but that's win/win for me either way so what the fuck ever.

My cursory Google indicates it may or may not be bad for the liver/people with liver issues. I stopped after that because I know 1000% I will freak out about it the entire time if I were to take it.
