That sounds like the hard work that feels satisfying and exhausting at the same time. 😅 Good work! I'm so happy you didn't get a long-term hurt from it, and I'm super proud of you for being able to accomplish that task. 🏆

Thank you!!

Rowing is awesome! I used to do it fairly frequently, it’s a good form of cardio for someone like me that hates high intensity stuff.

Youre doing great!! Don’t forget to breathe and rest in there too 💜

Yeah! It's my second favorite (swimming is my first but harder to do evert day!). So much easier to deal with than things like runnin or biking.

And thank you!!! <3<3<3

I’ve had the last few days (Fri-today) off work so have stayed away from screens as much as I can.

a few big things:

—>Rurik’s migraines have been bad this last week so that’s just shifted things and some priorities around.
—>My old dog, who has been my Mom’s dog for the last 4 years, was staying with us, but not doing well (she is a rescue with some major brain issues and needs a very quiet one person one dog environment). She has not been allowing us to sleep or really relax at any point because of her aggression and anxiety issues. This has been going on for months now - I asked for her to start looking for a new solution back in December (and she’s been trying, this is no one’s fault) and no matter what we try, it doesn’t get better, so I had to as my Mom to find an immediate solution for a new home for her on Tuesday and she’s ended up in boarding until a better solution is found. I feel awful about the entire thing, but between both of our health, she can’t be here anymore. The entire situation took every ounce of extra energy I had last week, and I’m still crying about it whenever I think about it, but at least starting to feel the effects of getting a few nights sleep in a row so more confirmation it was the right decision.

It sounds like we can go take her for walks from boarding if we want to though for a walk or something like that,  so I’m going to ask my mom about that this week.

—> we’ve reviewed our plans for the next few weeks and expanded timeframes for all of our projects to allow for healing and rest, instead of trying for one big sprint to get them all done and I feel really good about that.

—> we got a lot of Cluckingham Palace done and that should be complete in the next few days:

Worked on outside stuff:
only missed Easter.

Spellstrike:
I didn’t strength train. I did some stuff outside in the afternoon each day instead. Outside of that I mismanaged my time being upset about the dog situation.
.
Goal is 2x this week

Arcane Pool: this starts this week
Nightly Yoga, after spellbooks
I hit 4 days to is week, so 4 days more than the previous 2 weeks

daily row:
I missed Easter purely because I forgot. I was so tired when I got home from family stuff I just really didn’t even think about the fact I had to do it.  I made up the distance today and did 2000m

okay! That’s it for now. Time to get ready for bed and start my work week tomorrow strong and well rested :)

I ended last week strong, but this week hasn't gone according to plan.

I have done zero (0) workouts and have rowed zero (0) times.

However, I have purchased three (3) goats.

So it's time to refocus. This week has gone awry with some other stuff going on but mostly because who knows why really. All I need to do is start back tomorrow though (well right now, really, but the next thing after this is bed, so... )

Already have the alarm set for tomorrow and plan on just picking up as if the last few days haven't been weird.

Yes so Rurik has shared the picture of one of our little doelings (who I am considering naming Zora, because I love that name and I think her little wattles make it look like she could be an aquatic creature for some reason)

These are the other two we have purchased so far (none come home until June):

The brother and sister are Nigerian Dwarfs, and the other is a Mini Nubian. We are looking for a fourth (a third doeling) but haven't decided on exactly what to get yet, but likely another Nigerian Dwarf or something that is a mix of one (like the mini nubian).

okay, last week of the challenge whaaaat

feeling good about everything, but in weird ways:

ROWING:

I missed ALL MY ROWING. I forgot Sunday and then it just kind of... slipped my mind. Oh well. I did 5k Sunday, 2k yesterday, will do 2k today and tomorrow and should get my total meter-age for April (30k) easily, without even counting the extra credit I did at the beginning of the challenge.

WORKOUTS:

I also missed my workouts last week.

Someone (here's looking at you, @Rurik Harrgath) convinced a tree company to drop off a bunch of free wood chips, which was amazing but raking them took ALL I HAD. So I chose not to do workouts, but will get 2 in this week.

NIGHTLY PLANNING:

Still doing this every night!

MORNING WALKS / OUTSIDE TIME:

It rained much of last week, but focused on getting things in where I could and doing the best I could there.

Morning walks happened every day, obviously.

YOGA:

Yeah, so this one fell off last week, too. Will add it back tonight. I really feel like last week just... disappeared.

MISC:

  • I got a walking pad for work and have really been enjoying that. Yesterday I ended the day with 17,500 steps so definitely kept me busy!
  • The new puppy comes home Saturday so we've been doing a ton of last minute prep things for him, so the next few days will be super busy but not in a bad way
  • I had a really great psychiatrist appointment Thursday and he thinks that the majority of my mental health issues are stemming from my untreated ADHD, so we've started back on medication there (I was off medication only because of Lyme recovery) - day 2 and feeling good and like that was a really great choice.
  • The walking pad for my desk is also helping with my ADHD a LOT. I looooove it.
  • We have now seen 3 species of ducks in our back yard, including one pair that has moved in (mallards, wood ducks, buffleheads), as well as a heron who is getting more and more comfortable with showing themselves in our pond.
  • The mallard pair walked right up from the water and explored our entire yard yesterday, which was a total delight to watch (we were inside and saw them from the windows)
  • We got an entire extra 12'x24' room opened up and available to use - that not only is just a ton of extra space for us, but also, the view from the windows is gorgeous and I'm so excited to do yoga out there.  And until we are able to finish it (it needs a lot of work still), it can serve as a giant catio.

Here's the heron:

And here is felix and the mallards, while they are in the water:

So things are moving along. I'm still here, still trucking along, still trying to make the most of every day.

3 more sleeps till puppy!

How are you NOT considering that a workout? 😬

Well, so here's the thing.

I'm not NOT counting it. I'm just not counting it for this specific goal.

The specific goal is to get into the gym and get in a specific strength workout, so I didn't do that. I'd like to eventually get to the point where I'm in the gym 2-3x a week, even doing complimentary stuff, but not so much for the point of getting a workout in, but to help make sure my body can do this forever.

As an example, all of the work I'm doing is insanely back and pull focused, so I really need to focus on push strength and chest.  And since there's so much shoulders, focusing on some shoulder accessories and strengthening would be super helpful mid week so they can be strong on the weekends.

And then accessory strength to help build up the strength to be doing the farm things more efficiently.

So right now I'm just trying to figure out how they work together. Not beating myself up when I don't get it right, because if I'm not in the gym because I'm too sore to lift and have to do more manual labor the next day... that's the smarter decision 😆
