Shello Posted March 23 Author Report Share Posted March 23 Wednesday - All goals met again 6/6, calories from sweets 180. It's a little tough still to only eat pieces of chocolate after lunch. But what I'm relearning is that not only am I a grown up and can eat candy whenever I want, I am a grown up and can also decide to NOT eat candy whenever I want. I am not a slave to the candy. This is a hard lesson that often needs repeating. DDG spent the work day at his mom's place covering a day shift. We got home at the same time. That was lucky because I had virtual parent teacher conferences with Peach's teachers and I had completely forgotten until DDG reminded me 5 minutes ahead of the first one. Once those were out of the way I cleaned out the kitty litter and then did a 2 minute fitness snack (1 minute hamstring and glute stretches and 1 minute of squats) and then showered. This is a pretty helpful task bundle to get those pesky goals taken care of. We spent the evening on the couch watching Sons of Anarchy; the last season is a chore to get through. I was tired early. I may be coming down with something. I was feeling a little cough and scratchy throat before my trip but it went away. It came back as soon as I got back to the chilly weather here. I figured maybe just allergies but I'm starting to feel pretty run down too. A perfect score so far and between that and having some vacation bloat to conquer I'm already down 3 pounds since Monday. It's motivating but I also know that motivation doesn't last forever. For now I'm just going to bask in it. 2 pieces of chocolate after lunch and then DDG and I cut half of a king sized white chocolate Snickers into half again and shared it. They are not as good as I was expecting. At least that's one new sweet that won't tempt me at the store. Everything else was as expected; I had to sub the afternoon banana snack for yogurt and popcorn since we only had 1 banana left for the week. I saved it for today. I was scheduled to do an arm workout but DDG and I got distracted after work and I ended up subbing in some 'hot yoga'. Totally counting that as my workout of the day. Shello Posted March 26 Author Report Share Posted March 26 Friday - 6/6 goals met. Calories from sweets 80! I slept horribly and woke up coughing in the middle of the night. I didn't see how I was ever going to get back to sleep and I felt like I might rupture something with my coughs so I took some Nyquil. I know it's a bad idea to take it in the middle of the night but I was desperate. I took half a dose. I was able to get to sleep but then I was a zombie when the alarm went off. I texted my boss asking to use PTO for a late start. Luckily she didn't seem to mind. I felt much better after a couple extra hours of sleep and felt decent the rest of the day. Skipping breakfast was easy enough. I slept through it. 2 pieces of chocolate after lunch were all the sweets I had. We didn't have anything at home that was a small taste so I didn't bother. I did do my tidying task and a workout when I got home. I put together a leg day BW workout and went to the basement to use the space there. Before I started I found a few things to purge and a few things to put away. Then did the workout. It was pizza day. We had Totinos. They are the perfect size and there's no going over your portion. Shello Posted March 27 Author Report Share Posted March 27 Saturday - 6/6 goals met. Calories from sweets - unlogged, probably over but only 1 serving DDG and I were attending a wedding out of town. I wasn't going to be home for any tidying but I needed to take Peach's car out to listen to a sound it's making (its the brakes) and go with her to fill the tires. I counted that as tidying. DDG and I left late morning and grabbed some Jimmy Johns on the way. I also packed some bananas to make sure there were some easy freggies within reach. That was a win as it was the only freggy in sight for the whole day (except corn at the wedding dinner but I don't really count that as a freggy). I had the banana between the ceremony and the reception. There was a lot of time to kill so after eating the banana and checking in at our hotel, we met up with some of DDGs family at a brewpup to wait it out. I had a piece of bar pizza then snacked on popcorn and bugles once we got to the reception. Dinner was pork tenterloin and some roast turkey, with some awesome cheesy potatoes, corn, and dinner rolls. Plenty of white fluffies but also some protein. I had only 1 drink. The only sweet for the day was the piece of wedding cake. It couldn't be helped and I'm sure it was over 200 calories. But as I avoided all other sweets all day in expectation of wedding cake, and I had only 1 serving, I'm counting it as a win. I did get a fitness snack in. My hamstrings were getting sore from the workout the day before so I stretched those and then 2 - 28sec planks before bed. Sunday - 6/6 goals met. Calories from sweets - 160 I did not sleep well in the hotel. It was the start of hunting season and the hotel was filled with hunters, who mindless of others around them allowed their doors to slam shut behind them at 5 in the morning. Plus the bed wasn't comfortable and the pillows weren't quite right. I had trouble with the coughing too. Long story short we were slow getting out of bed and moving. We decided to stop for food at the once we got out of town and into the next city but DDG grabbed a packet of mini donuts to hold himself over, and he shared. I did have a banana first and then 2 of the donuts. We didn't want to make a big deal of stopping for lunch so there was a Culver's near another stop we were making so we grabbed that for lunch. They are my favorite fast food burgers anyway. I followed the 8 fry rule but also shared DDGs cheese curds. I did avoid the frozen custard though that was difficult. I was sleepy afterwards and ended up dozing on the way home Then once we were home I laid in bed and ended up napping for over 2 hours! I no longer felt like cooking so despite the grocery order for the stuffs to make a batch cooked meal we just had cereal for dinner. I had a bowl of Raisin Bran Crunch with a peach and it was delicious. While DDG was out getting the groceries I did get a short arm workout in. It's the first arm workout since my shoulder PT so I took it very slow, wanting to make sure it didn't hurt the next day. I did most of the reps on each arm separately since I used a lighter weight for my janky shoulder. I could feel some hitches but didn't overdo it. I also replaced the kitty litter while DDG was out to count for the tidy goal. This is the person I want to be. I also relinquished 2 and a half pounds of vacation weight. I am listening to a podcast and she mentions something like this - pretend you are your goal self. If your goal is to be a yogi, then set up your day as if you're already a yogi and do thing things future yogi you would do. **yogi was just example since I read about yoga as workout option I'm glad you're experiencing your future self in the present moment! Dinner from Sunday night was light as we had eaten heavy earlier in the day. The result was that I was hungry much earlier and couldn't quite make the 15 hour fast. But I did avoid the cafeteria (only because there wasn't anything really good on the menu) and I just had a banana. I was still hungry at my usual lunch time. I was too busy at work in the afternoon for snack but I had some english muffin toast once I got home with some peanut butter and cheez whiz. Batch cooking got done and I made a baked chicken asiago gnocchi dish that I had made before. It was a stretch to make it 6 servings for the week so I made some green beans too and heated up some frozen garlic breadsticks. It was excellent. DDG wasn't home from his mom's yet once I got home so I did my tidy task (sweeping which also entailed taking out some recycling and putting the rugs in the wash) and then did my workout (20 minutes on Ringfit). Calories from sweets - 165 I didn't actually do any tidying but I had class after work, had to stop at the store, and then at the pharmacy. The line at the pharmacy was loooooonng and then my script wasn't ready and I had to wait 15 minutes and go through again. At least the line was shorter the 2nd time through. But I got home late. DDG was over at his mom's so I got ready to do my task bundle of tidy and workout but it was sooo late. I decided excessive errands must count as close enough to tidying so I gave a point for it. I did consult my workout schedule and it was either yoga day or a fitness snack day. I did have time for fitness but felt like it should be an arm day so that's what I did. DDG had the evening shift at his mom's. He typically stays really late and then just skips dinner and eats whatever snacks are laying around over there. So after my workout I showered, put some garlic breadsticks in the oven, and then packed up leftover asiago chicken and gnocchi for the both of us and headed over to his mom's. We had dinner together there and then stayed with her until his sister came in for the night shift. There were plenty of snacks and sweets there to munch on. I had an extra piece of chocolate after work so I had already used up almost half of my calories. Nothing was really worth it but then I found dark chocolate covered almonds. I had just a few of those and it hit the spot. In other news, I had my physical today. I really like my doctor. First thing when she came in was to ask about my shoulder. I said it's not too bad but definitely not 100%. I got another order for PT to start up. And I got a new script for migraines to see how that works. I've been off cholesterol meds for about a year and it was slightly elevated. That was a bummer. But she said it wasn't high enough and my risk is quite low so she didn't recommend any meds for it. That's something I'll have to tackle over the next year to get it back to normal range.
