MaeradCase
13 minutes ago, Artemis Prime said: interesting food for thought. They always say to do things for future you, but you raise a good point. What has Future AP ever done for me? She is notoriously unreliable. On the other hand, I can flip it to be more motivated to do stuff that I have been procrastinating on, because Past AP was counting on me (as Future AP, who is now Present AP) to pick up the slack for her. Hmmm...we're getting into some wibbly wobbly territory here. That is actually worth dwelling on. I think it's very easy to make statements that reflect our feelings and sentiments without taking the time to look at what is and isn't being said. I am glad I wrote at work so that in the midst and aftermath of my meltdown I didn't have to worry about the quota, but also why didn't I trust myself? In November sometimes I'd do extra writing in the evening to go above and beyond the quota to make future days easier. 🤔 Also, I like your thoughts on the matter - future me may not be doing anything for me yet, but future me is eventually present me, and as present me I can choose to respect the past me's wishes and desires. So wibbly-wobbly. 😂 4 Quote Level 8 Ranger Spoiler Previous challenges: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Current challenge: 9 - to write my second draft, to keep moving, and to keep eating more freggies Link to comment

That’s a good distraction. Sending love. ❤️ Yes to all of this. Thank you. ❤ Since I have given myself wiggle room to write at work, I decided to fiddle around with a scene I skipped this morning, and to start off I contrasted it with an earlier scene by letting one scene be quiet and the other noisy (old historians house versus caravan leader's favorite tavern). I also want them to be completely different voices, and since the latter is present through the book I want to convey she's in charge of the caravan for good reason. 😍 Hopefully that plan is met with success. 😅 My mouth has feeling again. It's feeling achy. I'll be careful chewing. But lunch is just in time because I'm feeling hungry. Thank you for all the support. I took some last night before bed. Cid started reading our newest Sanderson book while I played Terra Nil. I have officially completed the game, though I have two more achievements to accomplish before those are also 100%. 😍 Tonight is game night and we're facing a behemoth icky monster in the sewers, with a likelihood of dying if the dice don't roll in our favor. 😅 I haven't done stretches or writing today, but I took a shower. My peeled skin has mostly come off, so I'd say my burns are healed. 😃 Zemi is very cutely cuddled up with me, but I must betray them to get breakfast before work. 😧 Hope a ray of sunshine catches your eye today. 7 Quote Level 8 Ranger Spoiler Previous challenges: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Current challenge: 9 - to write my second draft, to keep moving, and to keep eating more freggies Link to comment

He's one of Ao's favorite authors, he just got a new book in the mail about a month ago too... (it's green with a pretty cover, that's all i can remember, heheh) That's the one - it's "Tress of the Emerald Sea." He got it within the last week. I probably won't be reading it until after April so as not to take away time from my writing objective. Good morning! I think yesterday's game went far better than anticipated in the horror of the cliffhanger. Spoiler As expected, it was a rough fight with the mirelurk queen that ambushed us in the sewers. It was faster than all of us, and it had swarms of hatchlings to try to overwhelm us in addition to its powerful pincher and acid breath attacks. I honestly went into the fight picturing our party dying a very epic death. Our super-mutant party member (Cid's) had his leg broken by the pincher attack it made on its first turn. In retaliation he smashed his baseball bat so hard into its claw that both the bat and the claw's carapace broke. My vault dweller used the V.A.T.S. on her P.I.P. boy to target the fleshy face, and gathered further information that benefited the party - the behemoth filling the sewer tunnel was actually already injured from a previous fight. She tried to sound optimistic, but was still daunted by the size of the monster. The super-mutant stabbed his fractured bat into its face, and our Mr. Handy robot friend Marvin put a buzz saw down the length of it into the fleshy inner portions of the mirelurk's head where the damage was sufficient to kill the gross thing. We got a few weapons as we looted the monstrous body, and we took the unbroken pincher with us. It got us a discount from a shop-owner who recognized it and wanted to reward us for avenging his friends that had died injuring it. We did more shopping, went looking for a relevant NPC, got woken by him in the middle of the night, and he took us to a key location where we were hunting foe the G.E.C.K. and found it just in time for bad folks to show up demanding we hand it over. There's gonna be a fight, and it's bound to be as bad as the mirelurk queen. 😧 I did get 2/3 of the food goals yesterday. I didn't do the warm-up... I didn't today either... But I shouldn't let that stop me from making time for it sometime today. 😤 I managed to grab fruit to pair with lunch today, and refreshed my mixed nuts supply, but still struggling to grab my crunchy veggies because I'm not making time to prep them. 😧 Fortunately, dinner tonight with have extra broccoli, so I'll be hitting that goal despite missing veggies at lunch. I wrote a scene this morning until I was running late. Still haven't hit quota today, but 250 words is doable. 😃 Hope your goals are within reach today! 4 Quote Level 8 Ranger Spoiler Previous challenges: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Current challenge: 9 - to write my second draft, to keep moving, and to keep eating more freggies Link to comment

We sat down for lunch shortly after - I honestly didn't have a lot of time to update, but I wanted to announce word quota success, and the only time I snagged was on the far end of a long car ride. 15 hours ago, Sovalis said: Sounds like a really great day so far, mealtime tardiness not withstanding. I'm usually feeling invigorated by the company I keep, so that was weird. 15 hours ago, Everstorm said: Nice job getting your words in on what sounds like a very busy day Thank you! I almost didn't make it because the friend called me while en route, and my book progress waited, but when she took another call I slammed out the last few hundred words before leaving the library. 😅 I did have veggies at "lunch", though they were tempura fried, and I nearly got a stomach ache eating them. The tempura chicken was tasty but giving the same problem. I did have a side salad, and the other two were fighting over who should eat the other one because neither of them like lettuce I guess. I threatened to eat it to stop the bickering, but didn't end up eating it, which is fine since I had a rather large meal to try to eat quickly. Guess I got veggies in, though, mostly thanks to the salad. 😅 After looking at the venue (a bit more expensive than mine was, and keeps tabs on accruing small costs in a way that bothers me, but isn't unusual for wedding venues 😤), we stopped for cake. It had candied pecans, caramel, cream, and was overall a wonderful cake. I both do and don't want to count the nuts toward food goals. 😂 Do: 3/3 food goals - hurrah Don't 2/3 food goals because the nuts were a candied garnish, not a snack... I'm going with do. 😂 We drove back to the library where I left my car after the dress shop. I took a couple wrong turns and was going the right way on the wrong street. I ended up having a nice backroad drive toward the highway. I had originally planned to stop by mom's again on the way home, but I called to let her know home needed to be my only destination so I could sleep. Cid has his bike and his new bike gear (helmet and lock). I have a bike ride with a friend soon. I might bike today if it warms up again. We're flip-flopping with the high/low settings. 😅 By the end of next week, the lows should've gotten above 40 consistently, so I might cast my flower seeds then. I haven't been weeding, but I expected as much thanks to my preference of hitting quota before work. I could take an afternoon to pull the few ones I deem weeds, the taller grass, and the running grass. Maybe that and/or biking can happen when I get home and have an on-time lunch with Cid. 😍 That's enough for now. Time for breakfast before my half-shift. Thanks for your support!
