h3r0 Respawns as the A Team

Mind if I slide in mid-challenge? It has been a long while since I have been on here. I have really missed everyone here. I took a really long break and managed to get a lot of things done that I needed to get done but at the expense of any physical health or fitness goals. I have tried to restart my workouts but haven’t had any success and really learning that posting here was a big push of motivation to keep going. Long story short, I’m back!

it has been months since I have worked out and I’m bad out of shape. I’ve lost almost all of the muscle and strength that I managed to get and gained a good deal of body fat. Back to skinny fat again. 
 

I have a trip to the lake planned for Father’s Day weekend where I (GASP) have to take my shirt off. That gives me 3 weeks to get in a quick pump and trim before I go. Yes it’s not the best idea for long term success but I’m using this crash course as motivation to finally get going after a long break. 
 

This reminds me of some of the best tv cinematic scenes in history, the final prep montage before the big confrontation in The A-Team. To get this done I am going to need the planning of Hannibal and the sly crazy of Murdock to get the muscle of BA and the smoothness of Face. 
 

The plan is pretty straightforward:

 

Workouts - follow darbee Ironborn as best as I can daily. 
 

Diet - calorie restriction of 1,500 - 1,800 / day

 

Monitor sleep and mood and adjust as needed. Let’s go!

Completed Iron Born day 1. It went surprisingly well. I kept the weight super low at 10 lb dumbbells since I am breaking in. Felt good just to move. 
 

calories on the upper side and finished around 1,800 or so. I over indulged at dinner but planned for it.

Completed Iron Born day 2. This one was tougher. The rows of all things got me. 
 

still early, we’ll see how the calories go. I might add a easy nightly walk since the weather has been so nice

Curious to hear your thoughts on this program. I followed it during the 2020 hermiting phase and found that I although I had to adjust several of the later exercises to account for my tendinitis and weak shoulder, it struck me as a solid program with results.

Too early to say from experience but it follows a tried and true bodybuilding split and high volume 4 sets of 8-12 etc. I wouldn’t think it would be good for strength but probably a good cutting routine with short rest periods or a building routine with heavy weights and more rest. If I enjoy it I may do another round with adjustments

I might have to get started on Ironborn again... I have also neglected my workout needs quite a bit, and my overall wellbeing has been impacted by this.

My legs are shaking. I hate lunges and they should be banned 

 

hit calorie target yesterday but went to the movies and ate popcorn, really regretting it. I can just feel those hard kernels in my stomach. I love popcorn but it never agrees with me

Day 4, 5, and 6 completed. I’m actually sticking to the workouts which is nice. 
 

my abs still sore from ab day and I am not looking forward to leg day tomorrow 
 

I have been hitting my calorie goals with the exception of yesterday. Went to lunch with a friend and blew it out.

a nice little workout 

 

No formal workout yesterday but spent the morning doing yard work and got my 10,000 steps in. 

 

diet has fallen off a cliff. I think I was being too ambitious and need to rethink it.
