Don't worry its a common error thats easy to fix. You're most likely bending at the knees first during the descent. You need to begin lowering the weight by breaking at the hips and pushing them back, before bending your knees.

Ah! Perfect sense! I think I understand. And maybe I haven't been doing so bad, except when I try to go faster, which is when I usually scuff my knee.
