Ghost
(I didn't know where else to put this)For the past as long as I can remember I've had very pale skin.I guess I took after my mum. That means that I burn easily, blah blah blah. But under certain conditions, that pale skin turns, well, purple. You know when it's cold and your skin occasionally turns all patchy and strange.Yeah, that's what my hands do all the time. Unless they are really warm. Now, because of pimples and all, I'm used to having a reddish face. But having purple arms with orange spots isn't very nice.I tend to use pockets a lot as a side effect. It isn't a big deal, but it has a certain factor in self consciousness. And if I walk into a room with white light, yeah, it's worse. And everywhere has white lights.I just want to stop looking like a beetroot when I'm not exercising. Now if anyone has any ideas, let me know. Ask questions and all, I'll answer. Quote Link to comment
Pat G
Do you tan at all? Or do you have the skin where you just go red and peel. Perhaps regular doses of sunlight through winter and spring should give you a darker complexion before summer. Quote "Strength is the cup. Ghost
I don't tan at all. Bar just everyday being outside though. It doesn't peel and I've been like this for years.I don't really need a darker complexion, though it would be nice. It's just that I always look purpley-red.I might try it though, I have doubts sunlight will do it. Siferiax
This... made me think of zombies.... then again it's not hard to get me thinking of zombies.Anyway... I have no clue, I'm tanned myself. Or rather I'm triple colored. (white body, then upper arms are slightly darker, then lower arms are tanned. Legs the same, only my lower legs aren't exactly tanned. My face is... yellowish I suppose.)Yes that's my colors throughout the year... besides that I don't really like the sun, so.That... was a lot of unnecessary text! Sorry I can't help!! surana16
I get the same issue when I'm out when it's cold (I don't tend to feel the cold as much as some people so I've usually got my arms out), purple arms with orange splodges. Are your hands cold all the time or is it just the colouring? I tend to just warm them up a little and it goes away after a while, do you know if you have bad circulation in your hands? Ghost
My hands don't feel cold, they just feel normal. I can warm them up, and that can help. But then they seem to go red? I do not know if I have bad circulation to the hands, but I suspect so. Quote Link to comment
Jenn
Sounds like a mixture between the paleness and poor circulation. It could be something like mild reynaud's or some other similar condition Quote Link to comment
Jcannon98188
Def. some bad circulation causing the skin to go purple. And as a fellow "so-white-you-reflect-visible-light"-er myself I completely feel your pain Quote Link to comment
Ghost
Okay, bumpety bump bump time.I've noticed that whenever I take big deep breaths as opposed to my normal shallow breathing my skin colour resets to white.Could this be because of bad cardiovascular fitness (or something to do with breathing)?I got to thinking, if this was the case, I could hope to remedy it with some good quality cardio on my off days.Opinions anyone?
