Giving it a go, Ghost's challenge.

So this is my Six Week Challenge log!

I've never participated in a challenge like this before, so I hope I'm doing it right.

As it turns out the starting date of the challenge coincides with the 10v1 pushup challenge I'll also be part of.

I'm on the 10 side.

So here we go with my goals!

  • Fitness: Get One Arm Pushups on both Arms
  • Fitness: Get a full, unassisted pistol for both legs.
  • Fitness: Get consistent morning workouts, at least 5 a week.
  • Life: Study and learn more Maths, and learn Python.

I've set goals that I know are achievable. Though they will be hard.

Every. Single. One of them.

When you're shy and easily embarrassed, even my life goal becomes hard.

I should be able to get my unassisted pistol squats. The One Arm might be hard, the 10v1 will have me doing about 100 pushups a day.

Not counting my normal workout. Gonna be tough.

As part of my morning workouts I'll be doing 100 pushups minimum. It's part of the 10v1.

If I just keep progressing on with my workouts, increasing the difficulty every now and then, I should have them.

And I guess that's it. I might edit this post if I have missed anything.

Even though we're in different classes, I'll be cheering for you!!! Sounds like you have some good goals there :)

Good luck on your first challenge! (will be my first too, so I'm also nervous/excited!)

You might notice I removed the double digit pullups goal.

I suddenly made progress and can hit 8, two up from the previous six.

I was going to get it way too fast.

Monday 6th of August

The 10v1 begins along with the Six Week Challenge.

Up at 6:30 and do my first hundred pushups as part of the challenge.

Tuesday 7th of August

Up and did my second hundred pushups.

The other guys in the challenge are doing twice that!

I was buggered after that, maybe hope I can outlast some of the others in the long run.

I've got gym on wednesday, I'll try to do some pistol squats and some other work.

Thing is, everything else I do is arm/shoulder work.

So everything else may suffer while the 10v1 is on.

A benefit is that by the end I will have built a morning wake up and go habit.

And that I will likely have lost a bit of weight.

Onwards!

P.S Hey Ronin! Good to see you back, gotta be careful with passwords and the like.

Thanks everyone for the support!

Go Ghost!!! 100 push ups are so much! (probably because I get to like 5 incline push ups, oops haha)

Looks like you're getting off to a good start though!

Wednesday 8th of August (Gym Day)

==============

100 Pushups

10 consecutive Pullups, 20 total

4 Pistol Squats on each leg

==============

There were some more sporadic exercises, but I didn't want to feel too much soreness the following day.

It would hinder my amount of pushups.

Good thing I changed my Pull Up goal to the morning workout goal.

I would have completed two challenges in the first week then.

Oh yeah, kissed my girlfriend today. A lot ;)

It's five days in with the challenge and still going strong.

My morning workouts are going well, I'm consistently doing 100 pushups each morning.

It's going well enough that I'm considering increasing to 150 daily.

Maybe even introduce a MWF of other exercises.

Introduce my old exercises slowly, so as to not tire out to fast.

So my morning goal is going great. I will consider that goal complete once the habit sinks in and I can do workouts before school.

August 12th

So, done my hundred pushups.

This is week one of the challenge done.

I've been trialing a Protein Shake-ish thing for a week now.

The results seem okay, I'm going to change the dosage and times for the next week.

Starting today (today is a trial for a trial, hehe) I'm bringing back other exercises in small daily amounts.

So as I am doing no rest days this means I'll be doing only single sets of the other exercises.

Probably increase it on a weekly basis.

Oh, a great idea to save time!

I'll mix L-Sit and Pullups! L-Sit Pullups!

==============

Pushups x 20, 20, 20, 20, 20

Pullups x 6

Pistol Squat (w/counter) x 1 (BS)

Back Bridge Hold x 20 seconds

Been a few days since last update.

Since then I've gotten quite sick, and though I am still doing my daily pushups (I've actually increased to 150) I feel like dying.

I don't know what dying feels like, but you get the picture.

This is hindering my progress a lot, as you might guess.

I need to come up with some way to get better at Pistol Squats.

And also ditch the counterweight. Maybe grease the groove, but I also need to get the balance.

One Arms I've not even attempted, no point while the 10v1 is on.

Getting smashed in that by the way.

The 10vs1 challenge will be over way before the 6 weeks challenge, so don't worry too much about your one-arm push-ups, you are working on it even if not directly :) I mean, after doing more than 4000 push-ups in a mere 30 days, to do just one one-arm push-up will be a breeze!

You're on the right track, I'm sure you will do it :)

No idea what the whole 10v1 is about other than it's to do with push-ups and it sounds hard. Maybe it will help with the one arm push-ups.

Anyway heres hoping you will start to feel better real soon

17th of August

150 Pushups today, greasing the groove on pistol squats.

I can do about 4 each leg, spread throughout the day.

Hoping to get to 10 each leg by challenge end.

I was thinking I was on the rise out of being sick. And then believe it or not, my nose started bleeding!

My nose never bleeds! I stopped it really fast, but I'm not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.

Oh well, what are you going to do? Keep going onwards, that's what.
