Power Balance Bands.

Did you guys hear/have those bands that supposedly increased your flexibility and strength? The ones where you won't fall down if someone shoves you whilst wearing the band. I know Power Balance is a popular brand but I think there's also the Quantum Bracelet and Phi-Ten or something, I think they all have the same intended "effect" using holograms to augment your body or whatever.

I've seen my friends advertise these bands with physical demonstrations, all this time, was it just the placebo factor? Placebo or not, this article basically renders these things obsolete.

I guess it's not just Steve who has had a "Gizmodo" day hahaha! Thoughts?

Don't waste money on a Power Balance, the Placebo Band is much cheaper!

I'm glad to see this sort of thing is being shown for what it is but it's a shame that it is necessary. I would like to think people would have enough understanding of science to be able to realise this for themselves. The demonstrations are quite convincing but there are a number of videos on youtube showing how they work (eg

i had a legit 30 minute arguement over dinner with some brothers the other night if these work or not.. ridiculous
