Red Six, checking in

What’s up, Rebels? Alright. I’m gonna keep this short and sweet. I am a 34 year old father of two with an awesome wife. How awesome is she? She took my suggestion and we decorated our son’s nursery with a….wait for it…Star Wars theme. Yeah, she’s the bomb.

Sydney is almost 3 and she’s daddy’s little angel. Xander is 2 months, built like a tank and cute as a button. I need to be there for them. So enough of this lazy and fat crap.

I’ve tried every diet under the sun, blah, blah, blah. You’ve all heard it all before. Time to stop sucking and start dominating. What better place to do it than NF?

I’m 6’1â€, 260 as of this morning’s weigh-in. Here are my short term goals:

1) Complete C25K

2) Bench & squat my weight

3) Do one freakin’ pull up

PS: I just graduated with my Bachelor’s of Business Administration. It would be really easy to celebrate w/ cake, ice cream, etc. Instead, I’m going to celebrate by donating pounds of fat to the gods of Snap Fitness 24/7.

Glad to be aboard.

Thanks Seiferre! After eight long years, the degree is mine. But with a wife, two kids, a mortgage, and a full time gig, I'm living proof that anyone can do it and it's never too late.

I guess I'm applying those principles to fitness too.

Btw, I forgo to mention one of my most important short term goals:

4) lose 20 lbs in 9 weeks to coincide with the end of the C25K program.

Thanks, CyningaDena! Glad to be here. I figured, I've been unsuccessful enough...Starting and stopping fitness and nutrition plans...no better place to go to surround myself with fellow nerds who will push me and offer support and words of wisdom.

Welcome to the Rebellion & congratulations on your degree! I haven't done the C2K program but enough folks have mentioned it that I should probably check it out. May the force be with you and us fellow nerds will back you all the way.

I've started and stopped the C25K many times. The only good news there is that I get a little further each time. I'll spare you the whole "this time it'll be different" diatribe. I'll just show you.

Truth be told...I love running. I think Steve's blog post today says it all. I have those days where I eat like crap, skip a workout, have a couple of beers, and I think I've blown it. "I've fallen too far" "It's too late to turn back" are common refrains from my history. I think I'm finally in the "get the **** over it" phase.

Now, I also love hiking, hitting the heavy bag, golfing, etc. I'm doing my level best to stay active, no matter what form it takes. In fact, I got up super early this morning and golfed 9 holes as the sun came up. 1) I got some exercise 2) I got to work on my game 3) being out in nature that early, as the world wakes up is good for the soul.

I'm loving all the support I'm getting on the boards. Viva la rebellion!

First solo backpacking trip this past Thursday. 9.4 miles. Watched the sun rise of the reservoir. Amazing time.

I ache in places I didn't know I had. Hurts so good, though.

I have been dying to roll my own sushi, I just haven't had the time to invest in it. Now that school's done I'll have a bit more of it.

Athena- muscle ups? Holy crap! Lol those look awesome and dang near impossible. But I guess anything looks impossible before training starts. Wow. Looks like I have a new goal!

I've got my whole sushi kit: rolling mat, nori, etc. Now I just have to get my ingredients and roll away.
