Where's all the women? *pokes y'all with a stick* Get out there and lift!

Waiting until the last minute!

I think my recently healed blister will likely interfere with my deadlift though. Sad. Like I need extra things to make them not as good these days.

We can submit our votes ON tuesday (18th), right? I'm not going to the gym again until then. I was going to do them saturday, but on thursday I felt a slight pain in my lower left abdomen during squats around the 4th set (Still added 5 pounds and set new PR anyways because I'm an idiot. Seriously, afterwards I can't believe I risked a hernia like that), but I thought I'd take saturday off to ensure my core has time to recuperate before trying to hit a 1RM (which is something I've never done before).

Also, in terms of taking a video, what angle am I putting the camera at? Behind me? Side? Halfway between the two? Overhead? Panning along the gym ceiling in an epic sweep? Attached to my face for POV? Upside down inverted and in another dimension?

Numbers are in: 301 Wilkes. Youtubes are churning. Legs are about to explode.

Squat: 330 here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tD9j6AnkRM

- Failing 335 here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhlfU_nvu9U

Bench 225 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dgFuwSEz_A

There's a small pause in bar movement on the way up but it doesn't significantly descend. If that'll red light it, my next best is 215.

Deadlift - 395 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0sWpkwOb-E

- Failed 405s pending.

I'll update this as the videos complete and I sort out the warmups from the attempts. The playlist is

p.s. Are Athena and Chairokey's stats and lifts switched? I don't know any of you all that well but my impression has been that Chairokey's a large man and Athena's a not-so-large woman.

Yep, sure looks like it.

Oi! What happened there?

I've swapped our names over. That should fix it. Chairokey, you might want to double check they are indeed your stats.

Illc, I am indeed a tiny little hobbit woman. :) 5'1" tall when I stand up extra straight.

I'm going to try and do it tomorrow if I have the time. I want to do the super-duper total - the 3 PL lifts, OH press, plus the Olympic lifts!

I just went back and read the initial post, which states:

The sheet will include calculations using the Wilkes Formula so we can judge across age and sex as well as weight.

Maybe I misunderstood what's being said there, but the Wilkes formula does not normalize across sex (or age - that's the McCulloch age coefficient.) It only normalizes weight classes within each sex. In meets, men and women are totalled separately. The reason I bring that up is because, although the spreadsheet is correct, the post says "The winner of the contest, which is the person with the highest total" but really there should be two people, one male and one female.

My overhead SUCKED after doing the big 3...no idea how you folks manage doing that plus 2 more oly lifts after that, especially if you did 4 attempts and not just 3.

I don't know if anyone has tried it yet... but certainly if I do it, it will only be 3 attempts at each, not 4. I don't expect my PL lifts to be great, considering I haven't done them in forever. They'll probably be lower than last time.

Done and added; details and commentary in my workout thread.

Results

Squat: 140 <-Matched previous PR but with better depth

Bench: 115 <-PR

Deadlift: 200 <-PR

OHP: 80 <-Matched previous PR

I didn't have time to try the clean and jerk or the snatch (and really I didn't have time for OHP either but wanted to do it anyway) but considering I've barely done either my numbers wouldn't be impressive anyway. Maybe next time.
