Trad's - Don't drop that dun dun dun

Welp I weighed myself this morning and I'm at 205 pounds. I need to be at or below 198. Using some pretty advanced math I've been able to deduce that I need to drop about 7 pounds in 2 weeks. Piece of cake, not cake though just portion control. If worse comes to worse I'll have some mag-cit on hand.

Tomorrow is my crossfit competition, 2 hours away at a beach, should be fun. I don't know about anyone else but I ALWAYS get super nervous when it comes to competing. I am always excited and happy up until the day before, then I start to freak out, get diarrhea, and can't sleep. TMI?

So there are some things I can not stand with crossfit, and if you've spent any time on the internet you probably all know the major complaints. But some how my friends convinced me to compete. I'm a sucker to peer pressure and the conversation went something like this:

Friends: Hey what are you doing on the 22nd?

Me: Probably nothing why?

F: There is a crossfit competition in Pismo, we are going, and so are you. Sign up right now.

Me: Crossfit is lame

F: No u

F: www.crossfitwillrapeyourmom.org

F: DO IT

Me: Ok fine

So I'll head down to the beach after work today, get some food and try to sleep. I got one of those hotels with the free breakfast so that will be nice, and Saturday morning I'll go get embarrassed at my inability to run for any extended period of time.

Had a blast at the crossfit competition. I didn't know that I would be up against people who regularly go to regionals but I did pretty well for myself. At least the 70 year old man that was there didn't beat me!

And I got a free t-shirt, which is why I REALLY signed up in the first place.

2 weeks more till my power lifting competition.

The only reason I entered my first, and ONLY, crossfit competition was to get the shirt that says boobs on it... Oh, and to support Mammograms in Action. Same dif'.

So earlier in the month I tried qualifying for a strongman competition and I almost made it but others were stronger than me. Well I just got a call that one of the competitors has dropped out and they are offering the position to me. The competition is tomorrow. Should I do it? The other people ARE stronger but I am WAY more conditioned.

There are 4 events:

Tire Flip for time (2min)

Max Out Log Press - Ground to Overhead

Farmers Walk for time (2min)

Yoke Walk For Time (2min)

OMG OMG OMG, do I do it? I need to decide pretty soon!

I didn't even consider the free t-shirt option... there will be a free t-shirt!

I mean... it kind of sounds awesome. Will it throw off any soon to be competitions? And, if so, which is more important? So long as you're likely to recover properly to perform how you want in whichever upcoming craziness you have scheduled then I say, "do eeeeeeeet."

After talking with Brad Little (elite level powerlifter) on an open forum for like 3 hours, he told me not to lift the week before my meet. So i haven't stepped foot in my gym since last post, and well I miss working out.

Yet all is well in Zion, for I am leaving for San Jose (nor-cal) today after work, I'll weight in tomorrow morning, and then lift all day Sunday. Hoping to set some huge PR's since I have been well rested and well feed this whole week.
