Week Four Recap:

Lifting:

Didn't PR on anything this week, but bumped up my back squat working set by 5kg, to 110kg. Lifted 3 days because I had to take care of some stuff on Friday, so I missed heavy night.

Giving myself an A- here just for missing that one night.

Eating:

Okay, this has been where my will power is struggling. I can't seem to keep this up, and it's starting to show. While I am getting stronger, I am noticing my own belly more. I want to make it clear, that I have no misconceptions about being thin. I don't care about skinny. I care about strong. But, I also know that this ring around my belly is nothing but fat and is not helping me in any way.

I only had two gluten-free days this week. The other days, I had gluten items in the morning. That's the killer for me. STILL. Eff. I'll get it one of these days.

I get a big fat C-here. Because, yeah.

Life:

Unpacking is going very well! When we clean out the empty boxes and packing material a car will technically fit in the garage, so YAY! The next step is organizing what is left in the garage and getting rid of the trash. When that is done, this goal will be complete! WOOT!

I'm giving myself an A!

10/23 practice:

Snatch doubles: 45/50/55/45

Clean and Jerk singles: 45/50/55/60/65/70/70/75(clean only)/75

Clean and Jerk doubles: 55/60/65(failed last jerk)

Front squat 3x3: 45x3/55x3/65x3/75x3/85x3x3

My snatches were a little out-of-whack this morning. I don't think I'm working on my back mobility enough. Going to try to spend 15 min a day doing mobility. Try.

10/25 Practice

Snatch singles: 35/40/45/50/55/60/62

Snatch drop set doubles: 45x2/50

Clean & jerk singles: 45/45/50/55/60/65/70/75

Power clean & 2 jerks: 45x3/50x3/55x3

I've been doing more mobility work on my lower back, and I could tell it was better today. It started to get tender on my 60kg snatch, which is better than Tuesday. My jerks are looking more solid.

I'm not sure I'll be able to test my squats before the end of the challenge. I have one more day of heavy lifting tomorrow, then I'll be tapering next week for the meet on the 4th. I'm going to try to max out my back squat tomorrow, but I don't think I'll be able to do my front squat before next Monday. That might be okay though, since I did hit my initial goal of 100kg right at the beginning of the challenge. I'll see about maxing out my front squat on Tuesday though.

Just means doing double snatches at a lower weight. Working on quick feet and dropping down under the bar.

Week Five Recap

Lifting:

Hit all my practices last week, but forgot to update on Friday night and Saturday morning.

Friday night heavy practice

Snatch: 35x2/40/45/50/55/60/45x2/45x2

Clean & Jerk: 45x3/55/60/65/70/75/65x5

I was in my head this evening. Couldn't clear my mind enough to hit my big numbers. That's okay though... I'll save my big PR's for competition next weekend. :)

Saturday morning practice

Back Squat: 45x5/65x3/75x3/85x3/95x3/105x3/115/125/137/142/145 BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!! :triumphant: :triumphant: :triumphant:

Jerk doubles from the rack: 45x5x2

Hit my goal and blew right through it! This felt freaking AMAZING! Next stop? 1.5xbw! My final 2012 goal is to hit 156. I know it's coming. I'm going to make it happen!

I get a big fat A+!!! WOOOOOT WOOOOOT!

Eating:

Okay, I was doing semi-decent until the weekend. Went to San Francisco for my brother-in-love's 50th birthday and ate all the crap. All weekend. Seriously. Blew any good eating I did on the party. But, you know what? I didn't drink and the food was AHHHH-MAZ-ING, so I'm okay with this slip up. Getting back on track now for my competition, especially since we are tapering this week.

I'm going with a C- here.

Life:

Partied this weekend, so no unpacking was done. I don't think I deserve an F though because I have been doing so good before this. I'm going to give myself a bye week here.

Yesterday began my taper week for my competition this weekend, so it was a light practice.

Here's what I did:

Snatch: 35x2/40/45/50/55/45x3x2/50x2

Clean and Jerk: 45x2/50/55/60/65/70/75

Front Squats: 45x2/55x2/65x2/75x2/85x3x1

Didn't have any gluten yesterday!!! WOOT!

Today is going to be a sugar filled day, I'm sure. There's a giant bowl of candy on my desk since I'm the receptionist. It's got freaking Reese's peanut butter cups. I AM WEAK!

First, I saw you blew through your squat goal, and never got in here to throw my hands up in celebration! But you're amazing. And hell yeah!

Second, food is my struggle, too. And I LOVE PB cups. So hard to say no. And what's with people being offended when you politely say, "Oh, no thanks. I'm trying not to BLOW OUT THESE PANTS!" ;) Halloween. Maybe it really is the devil's holiday? ;)

Yay for your garage progess, also. That'll be so nice once it's done. It feels so overwhelming, but you're doign it a little at a time. Here's to finishing that up and washing your hands of it!

Well, the candy got the better of me last night. I couldn't help it!!! We bought $14 worth of candy and had 2 trick-or-treaters. I just couldn't resist!!! But, I'm done. Don't even want to look at candy today. Blurgh...

Today was my last practice before my meet on Sunday, so it was even lighter than Tuesday. Here's what I did:

Clean and Jerk: 45x2/55/60/65/70/75/45x2x2

1 Clean and 2 Jerks: 45x4x1

Looks like my openers for this weekend will be 60 and 75. I'm hoping to get a 155 total (70/85), but that would be a 6/6 meet (with 5kg jumps), and I haven't had one of those yet. I'd be happy with anything over 150 though.

If I hit 70/85, I will have hit all my lifting goals for this challenge!!! I'm gonna try, rebels!

60 - miss/press out

so, my total was 147, which was 3kg short of my goal, but I got a new meet PR on my snatch, and a new overall PR on my clean & jerk and my clean!
