Kuiken's 6-wk Challenge #2-"Come with me if you want to lift."

OMG-this is teh awesome! I need to check to see if they have pet dogs-if not, this might be a fantastic option!

Blah-so my art challenge has fallen down a cliff like that baby in Kung Pow Enter the Fist. I'm trying to prepare for an event at work that was sprung on me at the last minute and it's stressing me out so that when I come home at night I just want to sleep or read. Ya, ya-excuses I know. But then I get upset with myself and try to make it up the next night, fail again, get upset some more, get anxious about the whole thing-it's like a cycle of fail and not what this goal was suppose to be about. So in the interest of me not going insane and preserving some dignity, I'm modifying the goal to 10 mins a day. Hopefully I can accomplish this and when work calms back down, go back up to 20 if I think I can handle it. So let's breath deeply, recollect ourselves, and do this thing again!

Glad i could oblige and i seriously hope you can take your bunny with you.

What event are you organising? Can you incorporate your art into it (even if it's only a few minutes)?

I've been able to grow a beard two of the times I've been over here, and I used to find myself reading on the computer and steadily stroking the beard the entire time. When I would talk to my rug pusher, it was pretty comical to see both of us talking and stroking, talking and stroking (okay, that did sound wrong).

Put antlers on the bunny, let her go as a jackalope!!!

Not really-it's more like building repairs/cleaning and proposal writing. I guess I did get to do some painting, but it was only white paint so kind of bland. Everything was finished on time though and there was a lot of compliments on how fantastic things looked, so all the stress/hard work was worth it in the end!

LOL-see?! Beards are awesome! It's like having a hamster attached to his jaw! And I'm convinced stroking it helps the thought process (there really is no way to say that without it sound wrong is there?).

Christmas decorations are on sale, so antlers is definitely an option! I'm still waiting to hear back on the dog situation-who knew a bunny would be so useful at Halloween?

Other than art, the calorie tracking, lifting, and yoga goals are still on track. I've had some hectic 5am workouts this past week in order to get things done, so I'm looking forward to life returning to normal next week! :D

Antlers AND a ZZ Top beard on the bunny?

Awesome idea, but knowing the bunny she will chew through the beard easy withing 10-15 mins of putting it on. Then she'll start working on the tiny sunglasses I will have painstakingly crafted for her. She's like a tiny weapon of mass destruction-Monty Python wasn't joking about that killer bunny in the Holy Grail.

Quick ketchup: Lifting, calorie counting, and yoga goals going smoothly. Art goal is getting better as I purchased photoshop this past weekend and since I've invested money into it, I feel obligated to learn how to use it which means I'm doing art by default. None of my pictures are super awesome yet, but it's fun and I'm learning! Brace yourself-ridiculously silly photoshopped pictures are coming.

This past week has been true paleo. The great thing about working on a farm is that there's lots of free food growing wild, so I spent Thursday lunch break fighting birds off and picking mulberrys (who else knew these were real-I thought it was just a child's song!) and Friday lunch fighting cows off and picking mohogo (wild spinach). The cows were the worst-they kept following me and licking me when I would turn my back; then they discovered my hair bore a striking resemblance to hay and it was on. I tried waving my arms and making scary noises, but they were not impressed (the farm crew had a good laugh though). But getting covered in cow slim was totally worth free spinach. Now if I can figure out a way to catch some doves, I can have a complete hunter/gather meal!

Last week of challenge-time for the final HOO-RAH!!! Are you ready?!

From how you described her, that's no "tiny" bunny.

I LOVE mulberrys! Learned an easy way to gather them in Turkey- spread a sheet out under a nicely loaded limb, climb the tree, shake the crap out of the limb. Ripe ones that are ready to eat fall right off. Just pick up the edges and roll the berries all to one spot for transfer to your bucket.

Oh yea. I used to collect gooseberries growing wild in southern Minnesota. Made a nice pie!!

Looking forward to Photoshop art .... lots of people have been doctoring hurricane Sandy pics in amusing ways.

OK-so the last week of the challenge got out of hand with hail storms, unscheduled trips, stupid students, temperamental cars, and lots of other life in general. Oh life.

AND the Halloween party was cancelled because my friend's house flooded while she was away-she got back a few days before the party to find mold and water damage everywhere, so we changed it to a cleaning/repair party. We still got to wear (dust) masks and drink beer-I'm calling it a win.

Let's just skip to the scoring so I can get on with the next challenge!

1. Complete Stage 1 of the NRoLfW: DONE-100%! I may have lost my PvP against Abs, but I kept to my lifting schedule and really enjoyed the program. On to Stage 2!! +3STR

2. Calorie Tracking: This was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. One thing that really helped was entering all the food I was going to eat the next day the night before while I was making it. Then I didn't have to worry about constantly updating-just check again at the end of the day and remove anything I didn't end up eating. I didn't lose any weight, but with the lifting I'm not surprised. I think I might have lost 1-2% body fat, but I don't trust the calipers enough to believe that 100%. Will carry this over to the next challenge to see if larger changes occur. +2WIS, +2CON

3. Yoga x 2 week: This started off strong, but I missed about 3 classes total due to random stuff, so I'll say it's 75%(B) achieved. A wall scorpion was achieved, so I'm not going to beat myself up about missing classes as I'm currently more bendy than I was and I did try to get some stretching in when I missed a class. The plan is to try to maintain at least a weekly yoga class to make my muscles happy. +1.5CON, +1.5 DEX

4. 20mins daily of art. The wheels just fell off this one and it skidded to a crash then burst into flames! Started off strong, but overall this was probably a 25% (D) score-not impressive! Planning to readjust this goal and redo because I really did enjoy it, when I actually did it. +0.25WIS, +0.25CHA

Overall not a complete failure, but not a huge success either. Let's see what if I can't change that in the next challenge! RAWR!!!

RAWR!!!

This! I think you did great on this challenge, and the pvp part was a lot of fun. I'm looking forward (cautiously) to the next one. Any thoughts how you want to do it? We could do Phases 2 and 3 for 3 workouts/week, or do 2/week and stretch out the phase a little. Not a clue how to score it. We could average out gains on all the individual exercises? (There's a bunch. Have you looked at it? Omg! And intervals after!)
