Just came back to check on you... did you find the motivation to do something? I hope you did! :)

When I posted I said I was psyching myself up to do the Beginners Body Weight workout. And guess what? I did it and it was totally awesome!

Put out those stinky cigarettes. Go do your workout. You can do this!

Step one in completing goals 2, 3 and 4 needs to be to CRUSH THE EVER LIVING STUFFING out of Goal 1.

This is all in your mind. You think you are exhausted from a hellish day of work, but if you work behind a desk then it is likely that your body did nothing all day will your mind is what is really tired.

Exercise reduces stress on the mind, because it gives it something unrelated to whatever you are stressing over to focus on. Workout until you are drenched in sweat and only have enough energy to shower and go to bed.

Or you can apply workout punishments to violating your goals. 10 air squats for everytime you think about smoking. 10 situps for everytime you think about stress eating. 10 pushups for everytime you think about soda. Trust me, you'll be exhausted by the end of day 1 of this.

Another tip is to move your C25K workout to the morning. Get up early and workout. That way, you can't blame a stressful day for skipping a workout.

I gotta agree with Nick. Focus on that first goal and the stress relief you'll get from it will greatly help you with the other three. Working out gives me my willpower back because I feel better about myself. It's easy to "fall off the wagon" when you're feeling beaten and battered by life. Getting up and working out is your way of picking yourself up off the mat and coming back swinging at life.

Crush Goal #1 and the other goals will fall in line. You can do this!

Hope you're still hanging in there. I'll add my agreement with Nick and Jeff - Crush goal #1 and everything else will fall into place. Get your butt out of bed 30 minutes early and run or lift weights or whatever - just move. It's amazing how much better it will make you feel. (This is one of the reasons I hate rest days - I'm addicted to my early morning endorphins.)

I got back on the horse and I am paying for taking time off. Also paying for not wearing my knee brace to the comic convention I went to this weekend. I'm not going to let that stop me though. I am pushing through. DO ALL THE THINGS!

Week 4 Grades... No need to go through the struggles I had last week, they are well documented here.

Goal 1: F

Goal 2: F

Goal 3: A (I actually did not snack. I did not eat as well as I should have, but I did not snack)

Goal 4: F

I will finish strong!

Upset right now. Run is in jeopardy. I am going to the doctor to have my knee looked at. Run is in 11 days and I can barely walk. First 5K and I am most likely not going to get to do it. AAAGGGHHHH!!!!

And that, dear friends, is that. Torn meniscus in left knee. Have MRI next week and meeting with ortho about my options. 11 days from my first 5k. Awesome.

MRI looks like torn meniscus as they suspected. Meeting with ortho on the 13th. I'm super excited. #whereisthesarcasmfont

That really sucks. Especially after you pulled yourself back up and start getting after it. That takes some serious courage.

I tore my meniscus when I ripped my ACL and MCL, so I don't know what a typical recovery is for just the cartillage repair. I got the impression they would normally fix that with a scope and some PT afterwards. But, that was some time ago. Hopefully, the procedure is better and faster now. I hope your back on the mend and doing all the things very soon! Stay strong.

Official word from dr: Compound tear of the left medial meniscus.

This is from the regular doc. Seeing specialist about (most likely) surgery on Tuesday. Thanks for the support. I will be back.

Surgery scheduled for November 30th. Good news: simple fix, no rehab, can be running again by January!

That is some awesome news! Good luck on your surgery!
