FYI RANGERS: Fall Frenzy mini challenge!

I got 20 in so far today (I've only been up for 15 minutes) and I have an alarm set for every hour. I'm hoping to bust 30 out every hour doing a ladder of 2-4-6-8-10, but work tonight and tomorrow may cut my numbers down a lot during those 8 hours. By the way, I scaled mine down to squat thrusts since pushups would be a severe limiting factor for me and the fact that I'm working on the 100 pushups program and don't want to hurt myself there.

Doing 5 every 15 min while I'm in my room, good break from writing reports. The people downstairs probably think we're nuts (again :P) if they can hear my sets. I'm working on landing lightly in the small space we have that is tall enough for me to jump up without hitting the ceiling.

Goal: 50 today, 80 tomorrow. See how I feel Sunday after 3 hours of practice (where we might be doing them anyway).

Hey!! Can we substitute on these? Cause if I can just do pushups, I'll start knocking those out as soon as I hear back from someone. It's the squat thrust and jump parts that mess with my hip. Hell, I'd even be happy with half credit and consider that fair.

In the original thread started by Spezzy, she said to scale to your abilities and said squat thrusts are acceptable if that's what you can do. And general consensus was basically go from standing to the ground and back up any way you can. Even if all you can do is kneel down and lie down, roll over and sit up then stand, it counts for you. So, maybe you can just take it easy on the getting to the plank position then do a pushup and easily stand up.

I'm up to 95 so far today. Still got a lot of hours to go before bed though (at least 13), so I'm shooting for at least 250 today.

I did figure out it is easier for me to do a pyramid up to 5 and back down than ladder to 10 counting by 2s. That gets me 25 instead of 30, but I can do a second set of 5 before coming down.

I have never done these before. These are hard!! Good job to those of you who are hitting 100+. I just did 5 and I realize I'm going to have to do a few, rest a while, then do a few more. I'll do my best to hit 100 before the end of the challenge. I hope I'm not hurting our average by participating. :shame:

You can only help the average. It is total burpees divided by total number of Rangers, not number of participants. So, keep up the good work, not that any of us would mind if it was brought down. You're doing great for never doing them before, and so much better than the people sitting it out!

Just glanced at the stats. There are some absolute beasts in this competition. Flourless the monk @655, spencer_ the assassin @721, Shoobie the adventurer @550. I was hurting after my sets last night, but I feel like a total slacker! *goes to do more burpees*

Well....time to crank it up! Two sets of 100 before I can call it a night. That will put me up to almost 400 total. Then another 400 tomorrow. And every touchdown in every game on sunday I will do 10....try to get to 1200 total for the challenge. Hopefully my legs will still work on monday....

Did 100 at work and gonna do my workout with 8 sets of burpees and 8 sets of whatever other crap I do. lol, Squats and something.

ETA: Holy hell. Okay, well, up to 252 for today, think I'm good now. Did 12 per round (50 seconds) in my HIIT workout, then did a descending set starting with 10, 10 seconds of rest between each set. Topped it off with 25 more while waiting for the shower! I might do a bit more before I head to bed because I hate to leave it at 252...I want a nice number. 275 or something.

Ah, where are you getting those numbers? My count was that there are about 150 rangers, and 80 assassins. I didn't think Spezzy had posted the official number registered to each guild though...
