4k modified Tabata interval run today and a quick(ish) gym workout! Feel great (but sore!!). I did 1 min sprints with 45 jogs intervals. (True tabata is 4 mins of 20 sec max sprint with 10 sec rest...eight times...it's hellish). Managed 4k before my whole body liquified and turned to a gelatinous blob!! Well...that's how it felt for a few mins! Keep it up rangers!! WIN ALL THE THINGS!

To all the people asking, I believe spezzy said just running. Nothing else will count, just elliptical, but only if you are injured and it counts at 50% of running distance.

So, we gotta run people. Luckily it won't be as hot here tomorrow so I'll be able to get some outside sprinting in. Can't do indoor sprinting because no gym, and no treadmill. I'll do what I can!

I figured fencing wouldn't count, but figured I'd ask anyway. Luckily I sprinted a bit for fun on the way to class today (~ 30 m x 3). I have a tabata set planned for tomorrow morning, still need to figure something out for Saturday and Sunday.

Was feeling crazy this morning, so ran to work, then grabbed a weights vest (10kg) and went to town, did 20 100m hill sprints, with a steady jog on the way back to the start, so 2k of hill sprints, 4k in total. Then headed into the pool, did a sprint set: 8x25m max, 100m steady, 4 times through. It hurt. Adds another 1.2k to the total, so 5.2K for me this morning.

I felt GREAT! this morning surprisingly, so I decided to hit up a quick 5k modified Tabata again. And once again I got through 4k and started to feel like jelly...but I pushed through and finished this time! Now I'm definately taking tomorrow off running! lol

Yay sprinting! 10 x 1/2 length of soccer pitch ~= 545 m.

Just HIIT today, since it's easy to sprint up then jog back to start. How do you guys time your tabatas so you know when to start and stop?

There are apps for Tabata intervals. Also programmable apps for any intervals. But I downloaded a Tabata overlay that lays right over any Mp3 or WAV file and beeps the intervals. So it goes right with my music. Another option is to mix custom tracks with 1 min. of one song and 45 sec of a different song (your times may vary) and time it out that way.

Did 1.2 miles of sprints after a leg workout this morning. 0.1 mile sprint followed by .05 mile jog (at least according to the GPS on my phone). Managed that 8x, and felt pretty good.

great morning weather last two days, so I hit the track and sprinted the straightaways and sometimes the ends. I got only a couple miles in before I had to get ready for final days of OIS. on the road again...

Tabata overlays over songs, that's a good idea. I should try that (and attempt to remember my mp3 player next time I workout...)

Coached a spin class tonight, did interval sprints and sprints on a hill. My bike computer said it was a total distance of 25k, i reckon about 10 of that was in sprints. booyah! Does cycling count? I presume it does.....
