First challenge...let's do it :)

  • Workout 2 times at week [+2 STR]
  • Be able to do pull ups (now only chair assisted)[+1 STR]
  • Complete the 22 shuttle in less than 3min, no stop[+4DES]
  • Cut "bad food" (pig meat) [+4COS]
  • Play a match :)
  • Pass the December exam

Ok...now...

As a rugby player since november 2011, i didn't play a match...Now the season it's just started and i want to give my help to the team...

Now i'm 177cm x 95kg, and i play as prop...but my coach says that i can play flanker or N8...so let's work about that...

The first point it's linked to my lifestyle...i'm a medical student, and 2 times at week i go on my ward...i'll train on the field whit the team on the Tue and Thu...so i'll do my BW Workout (Following the BW Brigade Workout) on the Wed and Fri...

Second point...to lift 95kg it's too difficult...but i want to try whit more simple exercise, but at the end of this challenge i want to be able to do a pull up...

Third...my stamina it's not so big...so let's try to improve it...as a N8 i have to be EVERYWHERE on the field...

Fourth...my typical dinner is a sandwich whit cold cut...so let's cut them and let's get in salad and cucumber :)

Fifth...this season i didn't play a match jet...i hope to do it as soon as possible...working hard and harder...

Sixth...December exam...it is a big one...and i don't like the subject...so let's destroy it...

Posting to sub, but also, how intense is your training would you say? I know you mentioned 25 minutes of cardio every training session, but I have no idea how hard you guys are pushing.

Why must I put a name on the foods I choose to eat and how I choose to eat them? Rather than tell people that I eat according to someone else's arbitrary rules, I'd rather just tell them, I eat healthy. And no, my diet does not have a name.My daily battle log!

On the field training, the coach give us 15-25 minutes of cardio (it depends if it's the Tuesday training, 25minutes, or if it's the Thursday training)...

After some field lap, we go on the try line...and we start to jog keeping the line, ad doing different type of jogging (high knees, "high skip" in which you do fast movement of your feet but the knees are down and "heel to butt" jog). During this exercise we do some AB exercise and some push up...usually 120 AB (3x20 crunch whit lifted leg and hand on chest and 3x20 scissor kick o seated leg circle, sometime he adds side plank, 1min each side). We end these phase whit sprints (First from the 22 line to the try line, after that jogging until the 22 line, here we do some push ups or AB, then a sprint from the half line to the opposite try line, and another time jogging and ab exercise on the half line, and finally a sprint from a try line to the other try line) After that we start the technical and tactical training...

Ok, ummm....

Well, sorry to say, but the vast majority of that qualifies as warm up... you guys aren't doing a significant amount of cardio conditioning.

(I speak as a guy who's coach was ABSOLUTELY insane and tuesday practices are basically 120 minutes of running >.> )

Try the training I suggested on your other thread. Work up to 40 minutes at a decent pace so that you KNOW you can play at least half the game :)

First BW WO...

Chin Ups (chair assisted) max reps x4: 10 8 6 4

Close hand push ups: 12 10 10 8

Lunges: 45 30 17 15 (TOO MANY!!!)

Plank: 35sec 35sec 33sec

Now...On my last field training the coach told me to try the scrum as hooker...and...I LIKE IT :)

Tomorrow there is the match... probably i'll stay on sidelines...but during the match very probably i'll go in (The other hooker can play is our best N8...so the coach can tell me to start the match from the kick off :) )
