About me

I'm 27 years old, female and have a lot of weight to lose. I've always been on the heavier side but I used to be an athlete so I at least was I was getting daily exercise. My second year into college I transferred to a University and stopped playing sports, worked full time plus being a full time student, PLUS I discovered WOW. I got over worked, over stressed and lazy. I didn't realize how bad it had gotten until 2010. The new WOW expansion came out and it didn't interest me at all. My friends had quit, I quit playing and had all this extra time on my hands. So I signed up for a gym. AND IT KILLED ME! I started working out, slowly. I didn't really lose any weight or inches because I was still only focusing on exercise and not diet. At that point I was still living with my parents and it's hard to eat healthy when your family members you live with, don't. My biggest issue was room in the fridge. I had to make small adjustments but nothing was really helping me.

In 2011 I bought my own townhouse and had all the room I wanted and started making healthier breakfasts and dinners. It's been a year since then and I've developed a lot of healthier eating habits but I still have a lot of work to do and I'm ready to do it!

Goals

1. DIET: 5 veggies EVERYDAY

GRADE : A:5 - B:4 - C:3 - D:2 - E:1 - F:0 - Then average for the week

WORTH : +3 CON (will depend on grade)

2. FITNESS : Go to the Gym and do interval training atleast 1x a week (Keep track of mph)

Starting stats : 2 min - 3mph & 30 sec - (1st - 4mph, 2nd - 4.1mph, 3rd -4.2mph, 4th - 4.3mph, 5th - 4.4mph, 6th - 4.5mph)

GRADE : # of times for the WHOLE 6 weeks = A:6 - B:5 - C:4 - D:3 - E:2 - F:1

WORTH : + 3 STA (will depend on grade)

3. FITNESS : Morning Mile Walk - 7/7

GRADE : # of times per week = A:7 - B:6 - C:5 - D:4 - E:3 - F:2-0

WORTH : +3 CON +2 STA (will depend on grade)

4. LIFESTYLE : Inventory the Townhouse/ keep a report:

  • Organize the pantry for easy inventory – week 1

  • Pull out all items and organize first

  • Possibly label front of shelves

  • Make an inventory list for pantry items

  • Organize kitchen cabinets for easy access – week 2

  • come up with a plan for re-org

  • Pull everything out and organize

  • Light bulbs and light fixtures counted and recorded as well as batteries – week 3

  • Inventory all light bulbs - watts and styles

  • Check to see how many bulbs I have total

  • Count all items that use batteries and make an inventory list

  • Maintenance schedules – week 4

  • Create a schedule

  • Do 1 thing on the list and schedule the rest

  • Finish anything left over that needed more time - week 5
  • Put together a way to have all inventory sheets organized - week 6

GRADE : A - Completed task - C - Started but did not finish completely - F - Didn't do

WORTH : +4 CHA (will depend on grade)

Steeler-Girl gave me the great idea to put my before stats for my intervals and I've needed to do the townhouse stuff for over half a year now. That's not even all of it either!

I forgot to add in. I think I'll do before and after pictures for the house stuff as well, although I'm not sure if I want to share how messy my pantry/kitchen is. :)

TODAY -

Challenge Goals :

5 veggies EVERYDAY - YAY - DONE

Morning Mile Walk - EVERYDAY - Evening Mile Walk

Organize the pantry for easy inventory – week 1 - Will start Thursday

Workout :

No morning walk I slept through all my alarms and was even late for work. --- Did this after work and walked 1.12 miles, jogged 4 mins of it.

Beginner Body Weight Workout - YAY did 3 sets and did ALL jumping jacks, 5 more incline push-ups and 5 extra seconds on planks! Modified/changed reps : 10 incline push-ups, 44 static lunges (Right leg step out is almost impossible to get back up) & 20 sec planks

Food :

Lentil Soup & 1 cup Spinach w/ .25 chicken breast and Poppyseed dressing

Venti Soy Latte w/ Seasonal Harvest fruit

Apple

Banana

1 small Pumpkin cupcake

1 cup broccoli

5 servings of veggies & 3 servings of fruits

Great job of walking anyway, even if it wasn't in the morning!! Nice way to keep the momentum up!

Also very good job of nailing those servings of veggies & fruit! :) I knew you could do it!!

Thank you! Yesterday I kept thinking, "just 1 more serving".

Veggies are going to be my struggle this challenge. I can eat fruit all day long, nom nom nom. Veggies on the other hand, uugh. I'm going to start adding in a salad at lunch, hopefully that will get my veggie count up.

Thank you Jaimee! Sleeping through alarms pretty much ruin my days. It puts everything out of whack and it's always a struggle to right it.

Morning walk - I would walk this faster if I didn't have my dog slowing me down, but I feel bad leaving her at home.

Great goals - especially the detail. And great progress so far, especially on the bodyweight workout!

 Level 4 Human Adventurer / Level 4 Scout, couch to 5k graduate, six time marathon finisher.

My Kindle has my new alarm app - it makes me do a math problem in order to hit the snooze button. I can set how hard I want the problem to be - it is at easy, but I'll tell you what, trying to figure out what 29-18 is at 6am is HARD! Good job catching up with the walk in the evening and the food intake looks great. Keep it up!

My Kindle has my new alarm app - it makes me do a math problem in order to hit the snooze button. hahahaha!!! My droid has an alarm app with the math thingy too!!! and it is not only one problem... it's like 5!!! Solving for x in the morning makes me grumpy tho!

HAHAHA. I would just end up putting my phone under my bed to silence it or throw it against a wall. I did that to a alarm clock when I was younger.

You look like you are doing well. Keep it up!

(And I think taking your dog along for the walks is well worth a slightly slower pace. It's good for both of you that way!)

ooooohhhh... I LOVE the before and after pic idea!! I should do that! I look into my organized bathroom cupboard and I know that no one but me will notice or care. The kids will be happy they can find bandaids and new toothbrushes, but they won't be in awe like I am. Great job on tackling that job and crossing an item off your goal list!

I glanced through your battle log - nice work with the veggies everyday! Keep at it with the workouts - you can do it!!!

WEEK 1 RESULTS - A

Veggies = A (meet goal or exceeded goal. 11/18 only had a chance to get in 4 due to not being hungry.)

Morning Mile = B (I missed 1 day and didn't hit 1 mile each day, had to turn around early)
