Starting point

Level: 3

Attributes: STR 3.6 | DEX 2.0 | STA 5.9 | CON 10.2 | WIS 8.3 | CHA 1.0

Weight: 78.6 kg (give or take, who cares really)

Measurements: 34 inch waist (navel height), 42 inch belly/hips (just below my navel, just above my butt), 11 inch upper arms (L & R)

This challenge!

I'm going to be doing it a little bit different this time around. I'm taking what I learned from the previous two challenges.

4 goals is overwhelming for me. Still I keep getting to 4 things I want to focus on. So my goals are prioritized. If for whatever reason I don't manage to do something, I will keep focus in the priority order! (so goal #1 has most priority and goal #4 least)

#1: Strength

I want to work on my arm strength. Right now I'm at 4.2 kg dumbbells.

Today (12 november) my goal is to do 3x8 with these dumbbells. I'm doing bench press and bent over rows.

Goal: getting to 10.2 kg dumbbells, doing 3x8 for both exercises

Attributes: + 5 STR

Week 1: 100% score toward working on my strength

Week 2: 100% score toward working on my strength

Week 3: 100% score toward working on my strength (will probably not reach 10 kg though)

Week 4: 100% score toward working on my strength (stuck at 6 kg though)

Week 5: 67% score, I didn't do 1 workout. Ruined my A+ grade. Started with 8 kg

#2: Support

Last challenge I was having a hard time and kinda just focused on updating my own thread.

This challenge I want to focus on giving back the support I have received last challenge.

Goal: give support every day

Attributes: + 5 CHA

Week 1: 100% score, gave support each and every day

Week 2: 67% score, missed Saturday & Sunday. I don't have a reason/excuse.

Week 3: 100% score

Week 4: 100% score

Week 5: 86% score, one day not done

#3: Walking

I had the goal to walk 5 km by December 1st. Yesterday I walked 4.4 km on the beach.

So that goal is no longer realistic as I pretty much have it in my pocket. I still want to keep walking though!

Goal: walk at least 30 min on my off days (tue/thu/sat)

Attributes: + 3 STA

Week 1: 100% score, walked Sunday instead of Saturday, but planned for that.

Week 2: 100% score, record is now at 6 km at the end of the challenge I plan to reach 2 hours/10 km

Week 3: 100% score, new record: 7 km reached.

Week 4: 67% score, 1 day not done, 1 day substituted due to bad weather. New record: 8 km reached.

Week 5: 0% score, no walking done

#4: Cleaning

Over these 6 weeks I want to keep my house clean!

Areas to clean: kitchen, living room, toilet, bathroom, kitty room, bedroom, hallway, laundry room.

Goal: at the end of each week have all my cleaning tasks done

Attributes: + 2 STA

Week 1: 100% score, my house is all clean!

Week 2: 17% score, only managed to do my bedroom

Week 3: 83% score, didn't clean toilet & bathroom

Week 4: 100% score, all this clean!!

Week 5: 83% score, didn't clean the kitchen

Priorities are good. I often find myself not knowing what's most important in my goals.

Hahaha. I don't really hate cleaning... I just... don't get in the mood a lot :P

Yeah, I just decided what was the most important goal I wanted to achieve :)

I don't know, I'm not very good at priorities either, I just thought well okay lets do it like this...

Starting off on the right foot today!

Did my 3x8 strength training, as mentioned.

Then I added 2 kg to each dumbbell and tried 1 rep for each exercise.

It's heavy, but doable. So I REALLY hope my progression is gonna work out and I can get to where I wanna be.

I have confidence though! I can hold 10 kg in my hand, just... I'm pretty useless otherwise haha!

Also, I should pre-boil some eggs for extra protein. I'll make dinner soon which is spinach and fish :)

I've been replying to threads and following threads left and right. Expect me to be pretty active around here :)

If I followed your thread, then yes, I will respond to it very frequently ;) if I replied at least once, I'll definitely be back :D

I also already cleaned the kitchen and living room :)

So all and all, off to a great start. Which I usually am anyway... need to keep this up!

And you know it's like only 5:40 pm... woot!

Ahahaha, my cat totally hangs out with my dumbbells, too. I'm still working on convincing her not to walk under them when I'm doing rows, though! That and taking naps under me when I'm planking....

Nice start, looking forward to seeing where you end up!

HAHA that's totally my cat as well!! I totally fell on top of him once because I didn't notice he was under me. Luckily I stopped myself the moment I felt him under me. He also tried to climb into my shirt while I was planking, it was ridiculous.

Yesterday he actually jumped at me while I was doing rows, completely surprising me. Thankfully it was without nails ;)

Took my measurements:

34 inch waist (navel height), 42 inch belly/hips (just below my navel, just above my butt)

Yes, yes I have an insane difference there. Always fun when buying jeans! :D (it's horrible, because low waist never fits (that's 99% of jeans) and anything else is too wide around my waist!)

Anyone else have this issue? I want high fives!

Only jeans that are somewhat perfect are Levi's supreme curve jeans... guess what's hard to get?! Going out of the collection?! YUP.

Oh and I'm tall, 5'10", meaning I need 34 length... did I mention most jeans are length 32 :|

I wanted to do this challenge in Mass Effect style as well, but unfortunately my writing ability is a bit stumped at the moment.

Goals are looking good :)

I would stay light on the dumbbells & would recommend doing 3 sets made up of 15 reps light, then 10 reps a little heavier & then 6-8 heavy (you should be feeling like failing on 6-8ones).

Once you start to feel like the heavy ones are getting easier then up the weight by a little on each of the three. but really focus on form over weight, personally I think getting to 10 kg in six weeks is prob a bit too much, I've been doing weights for a while and am still on 10kg for db Bench Press. Maybe aim for 8?

Thanks for the advice. Though my dumbbells work with plates and I only have 1 kg and 2 kg plates. So increases are always per 2 kg minimum.

I build up with reps/sets over time. I hope it'll work out for me. First time I'm serious about strength training and just trying to build it up with what I think I can do.

So yeah maybe 10 may be over reaching, but I have no idea what I'm capable off at this point. I just try to push myself a little harder, because I'm generally a wuss.

So I'm hoping reaching for 10 will make me work for it. I usually can do more than I think and have a lot of mental blocks. And if I figure out I can't get there that fast, I'm not going to beat myself up over it, just take it slower instead :)

On the score of jeans, I acknowledge that it sucks, but I think you could alleviate your sucky situation by altering jeans when you buy them. I hear it's not hard for basic stuff like taking in the waist. And, if it is hard and I'm just stupid, then having a tailor alter them might be possible. Simple alterations are certainly inexpensive if you go to the right place.

I don't really have room to talk, given that I keep putting off altering clothes that I need altered, but it's an idea.

Anyway, I have to go. Apparently, Mix-A-Lot's in trouble.I am so sorry please don't fly to Japan and hit me

Yes very true. Just need to figure out that I can still fit it over my butt! Haha. I have these summer shorts that I can barely get over my butt/hips, but when they're on, they sit okay at my waist.

But yeah I'd love to make my own clothes either way... just need to... get a working sewing machine :| the old one I borrowed from my mom stopped working correctly.

And that was during my first attempt at making a costume lol.

November 13th

#1: Strength

Rest day!

#2: Support

Did my morning support round and generally tried to keep up to date with the forum!

Even hung out in the chat a little.

Didn't get to my evening round, due to work taking a chunk of my evening.

#3: Walking

Thanks to work and eating with my dad these few days that my mom is out the country, I didn't get to walking.

I'm a little paranoid bundle of nerves, so I don't enjoy walking out in the dark all that much.

So instead of walking I hopped onto my parents' spinning bike! Did a 30 min workout and cycled 10.55 km in that time. To compare, last time I did 30 min I got to 9.94 km!

Ended the workout with 30 seconds of going 40+ km/h :D

#4: Cleaning

Thanks to work I didn't do any cleaning, but that's okay.

Still going good so far! Tried some yoga which just had me and my dad laughing a lot at my failure to keep balance.

Also accepted a challenge to try working on doing a handstand. So I'll hopefully get to doing something toward that today.

I'll be leaving work early today, and so hopefully get everything done before I need to be at dad's for dinner.

Balance in Yoga is hard! Bf laughed a lot when he was trying to take some pictures of me doing the poses. Granted, I'm not the most balanced person ever ^^' I can't wait to see your progress on your yoga poses, they are certainly impressive.

Actually wrote down upper arm measurements... finally took those as well :) 11 inch for both arms. (half an inch extra if I tense them muscles)

Not going to have pictures... because... the stupidest excuse, taking pictures of yourself is hard and I don't actually own a mirror that's full size. (the one I have shows my head and shoulders and not much more than that)

I wanna add my BF%, but not quite sure how to get that percentage. Could get it from my parents scale and use it for progress that way... dunno, don't trust it much.
