The Story So Far...

I have spent the last two years here at Nerd Fitness (as of 6/30/2013) and it's my internet home. In the first 6 months of my stay, I lost 50 pounds, but unfortunately this last year of my life has been the hardest ever: divorce, depression, and some gained weight.

I'm now on my way back down to 10% body fat, killing zombies, riding my bicycle to work twice a day (9 miles each), taking Krav Maga classes, and becoming a true zombie-killing urban ranger.

Stats
Age: 26
Weight: 210

BF: 23%
Height: 5' 11"

Current Goals

  • Ease back into paleo.
  • Krav Maga
  • Biking
  • Paying off debt.

You'll get there man, you always manage to punch above your weight.

This is your idea of photobombing?  Is this an Aussie thing

Yay, Loren!!  And dang.  I really like how you formatted that post.  I should've scoped that out before filling up my challenge post with lots of writing and not enough bullet points.

Happy 2013, it's gonna be a better year for all of us!

F'reals! I wanted a photobomb too!

Thanks... I always kinda format the same so it's easy to read. Happy 2013 to you as well.

Glad to see you back and posting. I will be hanging around to support you the whole way.  :)

Woot! Zombies, Run! I bought it a while ago and ran once or twice. Love the app and am dying to get back into it. Will be running a minimum of twice a week with it to meet my current challenge goals.

That's awesome! Thanks for the support. I probably won't do Zombies, Run! all that much because I am on a ketogenic diet, but I'll probably do it for fun a few times. :)

Do you have a challenge thread up?

Makes sense. What kind of hiking do you do? On flat trails, valley trails or mountain hiking?

And I do not. That section of the forums wasn't up last time I looked but I see it is now! I will be putting it up in a little bit. Link will eventually be in my signature.

Subbed!  I am dying to try Zombies, Run! but alas, I am in possession of zero devices upon which said app can be used.  Le weep.

Your goals look great!  You've got support, you've got a plan, you can do it.  And a Whole90?  I bow before your epicness.  Whole30 is where I'm at now, but I would love to someday kick it up to 60 or 90 and just bulldoze through it.  :)

Around here it's mostly mountain hiking, which I like.

Cool... excited to see what's in store.

Aww. What a bummer! You'd love it!!! Haha @ le weep. :P

Well, I think I need it. I've gained all of weight back and I am not healthy. I just need to stick to it.

Mountain hiking is my favorite. So much to see and you feel so accomplished when you summit. My partner and I vacationed in the Adirondacks and it was one of the best times of my life. I cannot wait until we can go again. One of my longterm goals is to climb the highest mountain in the Adirondacks :)

So how are you feeling getting back into your rebellion groove?

That's awesome!!! Really cool. It's easy to find mountain hikes here but I've never done anything that extreme. :) - Hopefully I will, though.

I'm liking it. It's hard not to let myself get down about losing everything I worked for before this year. I'm currently in the hangover phase of Whole 30.

Not all of them are extreme, each mountain has its own challenges I am sure you know :)

Don't be down just because you had a step back, you should be proud for jumping right back into Nerdfitness and your good habits again. It takes a huge amount of inner strength to tell yourself to get up and do it (based on your blog I am sure you know that). You will get back everything you worked for because you are working to get it :)

Also, I think it is great that they (Whole30) post what to expect day by day. If I hit the hangover phase without knowing what it was I would likely stop but knowing it is normal and it gets better makes it worth wile.

Hahahaha. :D :D :D

Do you have your myfitnesspal linked anywhere? If I'm going to follow you into a Whole30 challenge, I'm going to need some tips on a diet.

Weird. I fixed it. It's in the sig and here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/lorenwade

Thanks for the kind words. Kind of ironic isn't it? I write a blog like this but can't seem to get my own life in order... I guess that's part of the adventure. :)

At the same time though, you are the best person to write a blog of that kind because you know the issues people face and can tell them what to do about it.

Hey Loren!  Glad to see you back in action.  Those are some hefty goals you've set out for the course of the year.   I applaud your looking at the whole 90 -- yikes!  Definately out of my league.

Have you moved yet?  So many changes at once...I'd be feeling a bit off as well.  Hang in there, there are brighter days ahead.  Promise :)

Thanks. :) I kind of went off the rails on some hard cider tonight that family bought me... so I am starting over tomorrow. If it's gonna happen, I'm gonna do it now.

And... no moving yet. Thanks for support. :) I'm excited to get started. Pictures of my fat ass, tomorrow!
