Prologue and Exposition

So this week has been pretty suckish. I've been sick since wednesday (not the flu thankfully), and it's kept me from getting a whole bunch stuff done. I only got in one workout (monday) and I skipped out on three paleo breakfasts, so my current grade for that part of my challenge is at a C- at the most. I did keep up with the strecthing, but I didn't do anymore handbalancing work. On the bright side, exams are over and I am happy with all of them. I plan on picking up some of the slack I dropped while being sick by going through my workout today and getting the 35 burpees I missed over with. I'm also going to make some more boiled eggs so I don't have to worry about cooking in the mornings. It's time to get back on top of this challenge. Oh, and I need to log some distance since the deadline for a new guild HQ is sunday. Sigh, lots to do, lots to do.

Agh, being sick is no good - but better that you miss some stuff and get better than do too much and stay sick longer. You can get back into the swing of things - don't stress out too much! And great job on the exams!

Sorry you were sick, but it's good to hear that you're better!  Welcome back to the swing of things, hehee.  Good luck on pulling through week three, hopefully that cold doesn't try to hang on. XD

Thanks for the well wishes guys. I'm just getting over it now, and I need to rock these next few weeks since last week was pretty much wasted. Time to get moving.

Today my main focus is going to be catching up on all the burpees I missed. I haven't calculated the total yet, but it's probably around 100. Shouldn't be too awful if I split ithem up.

I also want to participate in Nuala's Unofficial Challenge part deux, so I think I might add camel or pigeon pose (or both) in on my flexibility days.

Time to get back on track. Let's do this. *determined face*

Well it's been a while. And by a while I mean it's been a week. So time for a status update!

7/7 for the paleo breakfasts the past seven days (woot!) which I'm pretty happy about.

Only got in 2 workouts, missed yesterday because of rehearsal and homework, but I plan on making it up today.

I've been keeping steady with the stretching excercises, and I already feel like I notice a difference in my overall flexibility, which is exciting :D

I have however, miserably failed on the mini challenges and the burpee challenge. I don't feel like calculating the amount of burpees I have to make up, but I think it's in the 200's... And though I did do camel pose a bunch for the animal challenge, I never timed or logged it, which is just laziness on my part.

Overall pretty successful, but there's still room for improvement. And now that we're half way through, I'd really like to nail the rest of the challenge. Game on.

Update time again!

I'm super happy with the flexibility part of my challenge. It's the only goal that I havn't slacked on for the entire challenge. Did my stretch routine three times this week, and seeing the improvement in flexibility is really awesome.

Although I didn't keep up with them at the beginning of the challenge as well, I've been doing good with the paleo breakfasts. My go-to meal for the past week has been a spinach, mushroom and feta omlette that is quite good. I'm not tired of it yet so I might stick with it for the rest of the challenge.

Workouts have been... meh. I need to become more motivated to put the work in to see the results I want. I only got in one workout this week, on Wednesday, so I'm going to try and make up for the missed workouts today. I really want to finish out the challenge strong and this is the area that needs the most improvement.

Grades-wise I've been pretty sucessful, although a B on my Calc exam will probably mean a B overall for the class, but I'm not too upset about that. A's in all other classes though. (:

I've also decided that I need to be a lot more organized for the next challenge. I think starting a Daily Battle Log might help, so I can record specifics and accumulate a record so I can gauge improvement more accurately. IIt might force me to be more accountable as well, which would be good.

Oh, I almost forgot about the burpee challenge... I'm so ridiculously far behind at this point, I'm not sure if it's possible to catch up. It doesn't mean I won't try to, but I don't expect to recover from a 500+ burpee deficit anytime soon. It would be pretty awesome if I could though.

Ooh, that omelette sounds tasty! Nice job on the flexibility and grades, too. Are you missing workouts because of a lack of motivation, or other stuff that's taking priority? This is definitely the time in the challenge where the early momentum is long gone and you have to find your own reasons to do what you planned. You're doing a great job overall, though, keep it up!

I think it's both lack of motivation and other priorities that distract me from the workouts. Some days there really isn't time for them, but others I miss only because I talk myself out of it. I'm going to really try and focus on knocking them out for the rest of the challenge though. Thanks for the encouragement! (:

So the challenge is officially over, and this time of year is officially way to busy for me. Hence the lack of a follow up post or any posts at all during the final week.

The last week I honestly think was my best. And I want to keep up that momentum to swing into the next challenge. All workouts were done, flexibility work was fully accounted for and paleo meals were made every morning. So for the final results...

Goal 1: Improve Eating Habits

While there was definitely improvement, I did not live up to my goal of eating paleo every morning. I did however steer clear of uncessary sugar and sweets, whcih was also a goal. Overall I'm giving myself half-credit. +1 CON

Goal 2: Strength

I slacked off the most in this area, but since I can now accomplish my three rep goals of 8 pullups, 30 pushups and 30 squats, I'm giving myself a point. I need to do better on this next challenge though. +1 STR

Goal 3: Flexibility and Skill

I did really well on this part of the challenge. Full credit, but no bonus point for 15 sec. free standing handstand, which I still can't quite manage. +2 DEX and +2 STA

Life Goal: Maintain A's In All Classes

So close. So frickin close. A B on my calc exam means I got a B in calc overall. Half-credit. +1 WIS

Overall I'm happy with my first challenge, and I'm looking forward to the next one! One thing I really need to do next challenge is log all of my data, that way I don't have to think back and try to remember what I did or didn't do, and so that it's easier to track progress. Thanks everyone for the support and for making this a fun experience, the community here is great and I look forward to seeing everyone in the next challenge!
