Welcome to my journey - it should be fun... and dirty.

 

I've decided to take up adventure racing - and my first race is set to be a mud run at the end of June.

 

I've a long road to haul before that date.... improvements need to be seen in endurance, strength, flexibility, nutrition.... all and all we're looking at a complete overhaul here.

 

I've got my challenge log going over on the Assassin's board - this log will detail a bit more of the long range goal status.

Yesterday I decided to jump in on the 100 day burpee challenge. So I caught up (did 1, then 2, then 3, then 4, then 5) - and today I did 6... I can only see this getting harder and more awesome!

 

Also:

 

Yoga wake up routine including 2 sets of side planks on each side that I was able to get into position AND hold for a few seconds - YAHOO!

 

Walked / hiked through the snow to the mailbox (.68 miles) as a baseline - tracking that on the challenge thread.

Food for thought...

 

Got frustrated today over something I have NO control over (other than letting my feelings be WELL known).

 

Someone offers me a soda (I don't care for the stuff and don't usually drink it)

 

I said yes!

 

Noticed 3 things:

 

1.  Frustration / emotions = lack of thought with food/drink

2.  3pm is my trigger "sweet" time... If I'm going to eat it it will most likely be around that time.  This time the soda was offered right about that time.

3.  Headache followed soda... and now that I'm thinking about it, I've been getting headaches regularly when I eat sweets.  Sugar related?

 

In other news... I have team members signing up to run the adventure race with me in June - so now I'm locked in!  Not only have I paid my money but I have a team counting on me!  Woot woot!

I sent a video of the run I'm considering doing to a family member.

 

They told me tonight "I watched that video and I can't see *you* doing it".

 

Wow.  Thanks for the support.

 

Perhaps they are only seeing the *me* that I am at this very moment and not the *me* that I'm working on becoming.

 

Could I go, tomorrow, and run that entire race? No... but I sure as hell could finish it.  And by April?  You bet I will run it!

GAH! Wedding to attend in t-70 days~!  (anybody know what the t- stands for? I don't... but it sounds good.)

 

Family wedding = pictures.

 

I don't want to be fat in pictures that will hang on walls for the next how many generations.

 

Time to suck it up - sick or not.
