livingroovy
2013, Oh Yes. Keeping it simple and all about consistency-- there's a lot of crazy (good crazy!) going on in my life, and morning rituals, daily routines, and good habits are becoming even more essential to maintaining health, energy levels, and excitement! I'm also going to keep the same basic framework for the year for my goals. Each goal is tied to a habit I am looking cultivate throughout this year. The challenges within each goal will change every six weeks, but the habits will stay the same. Beginning Stats:Level 5 Gallifreyan Druid[sTR] - 15.3 // [DEX] - 11.25 // [sTA] - 14 // [CON] - 15 // [WIS] - 11.55 // [CHA] - 13.6 Goals: 1. I am someone who wakes up early. The challenge: Wake up at 5am on weekdays, 7am on weekends. Out of bed and beginning my day by 5:30am on weekdays, 7:30am on weekends.Grade: A= 40+ Days. B= 35-39 Days. C= 30-34 Days. D= 25-29 Days. F= 24 or less days. **Reasoning: I accepted a full time job for the first time in my life. Really excited about it, but also have a lot I want to accomplish. I work creatively best in the morning, and do my best workouts in the morning. Therefore, waking up early will allow me to do a lot of the things I enjoy right away, and free up my evenings to chill out a little bit. +2 [CON], +2 [CHA] 2. I am someone who has a daily yoga and meditation practice. The challenge: I spend 10 minutes every day sitting and breathing/moving and breathing.Grade: A= 40+ Days. B= 35-39 Days. C= 30-34 Days. D= 25-29 Days. F= 24 or less days. **Continuation: This is a continuation of last challenge... I feel like I am sort of in this habit, sort of not. I also have a 365 meditation challenge going, and as I am currently 7/7, I want to keep that streak up! +2 [DEX], +2 [WIS] 3. I am someone who grows stronger every single day.The challenge: 3 strength training workouts every single week (gymnastics or crossfit).Grade: A= 18+ (none missed). B= 15-17 (1-3 missed). C= 12-14 (4-6 missed). D= 9-11 (7-9 missed). F = 8 or less (10+ missed). **Side note: I'm starting a 200-hour gymnastics and specialty training teacher training on January 19th. This goal is taking this into account because I really want to focus my workouts around this training and getting stronger all the time. +2 [sTR], +2 [sTA] 4. I am someone who writes and creates for an hour or more every day.The challenge: I write and publish one blog post and newsletter per week.Grade: A= 6 posts. B= 5 posts. C= 4 posts. D= 3 posts. F= 2 or less posts. **Reasoning: I want to write, paint, draw, etc. as part of my daily life. I currently don't do that as much as I would like. Committing to one article and newsletter per week will focus this idea and will definitely make me create at least some of the days! +1 [CHA], +2 [WIS] ******* Strategy: Waking up early:Keep my alarm across the room so I have to get out of bed to turn it off. Also, annoying loud alarm.Get to sleep at a decent hour (yes I go to bed at 9:30pm on lots of nights!)Accountability partner for morning workouts Daily yoga and meditation:Right away when I wake up.5 minute meditation before I go to sleep. Also helps with deeper sleep, so I am more rested when 5am rolls around.Every time I find myself checking Facebook, do a sun salutation or a handstand. Getting stronger:Gymnastics teacher training.Planning my workouts at the beginning of the week and telling somebody when and where I will be working out. Creating and Writing:Blog posts are being published every Tuesday- therefore written and completed Monday night.Have 3 hours already set aside each week in my calendar. Don't usually need this long but the time is there.Whenever possible, unplug. ******** Tracking & Accountability: I will try and post here as often as possible- for sure twice weekly updates. If you have any questions pertaining to your challenge specifically, please post them in the Druids General Chat Forum so I can help you out and answer them! If you notice me slacking... feel free to get in my business!! ********* Side Quests: -- I'm doing a daily photo for 2013.
