Hey everyone this is my first challenge and first post all in one!

Your right down to business:

Health/exercise goal 1: 300 spartan exercise routine.

I am going to do the routine no fewer times than 3X a week.

I am really bad about losing motivation and sticking with what I started so this challenge will make me finish what I started.

Diet goal 2: no soda,no salt, reduce caffeine when possible and drink water!

Im not to bad as far as soda is concerned its more of a caffein addiction. I also put salt on everything and am really bad about drinking water. So there it is more water less caca.

Life skill goal 3: bi/tri lingual

My wife speaks spanish, I have wanted to learn but am pretty lacking on the motivation front

My goal is to learn enough to go a full day and speak only spanish with her. Not to mention

My children really need to learn and it will be easier if both parents spoke it.

Yep I have 2 little monsters :)

Side goal learn to be more fluent in american sign language.

Anyway wish me luck everyone!

ok status update......

workouts have been going well, have been doing alot of running as well.

diet: going well still no caffein, soda, or salt(tablesalt) does not include the soup that I had that had

salt in the mix already.

spanish/sign language: have been reviewing my sign language and spanish flash cards

with my wife to correct me on pronunciation.

so all in all I have been sticking to it.

Madness?! No! This is Fitness?

Moving on...

Good luck with the soda. I was able to go from 6x cans of Mt. Dew a day down to 0, by replacing it with copious amounts of coffee. I can not really imagine taking it the next step and removing caffeine completely.

Luck to you on the entire plan!

Thanks man yeah I was taking like 5-6 caff pills a day with soda and coffee in the mix so needless to say my head wanted to blow up the first day without it. but ironically i feel more energy now that im not taking them and drinking water and decaf tea.

figured I'd add my stats

height: 6ft

weight: 185

waist: 33.5

1.5mi time: 10:10

1min pushup: 45

1min situps: 55

not lookin to bulk up or slim down too much just need to get more muscle definition.

I am in the military and already work out 2X a week and have to do a pushup/situp/ 1.5mi

physical test a year. If it weren't for the military making me workout i would probably be skinny as a pencil.

before the military 5yrs ago i weighed 135 at 6ft

: O    It's kind of cool you just quit doing that. It makes me kinda happy.

25 pullups?  50 pushups?  Quitting caffeine pills cold turkey??

Man, you don't mess around.  Props.

How about teaching the kids some sign language?  You can even get them to sing songs in ASL...

Admittedly I cnt do 50 at once I did 10 sets of 5.

But yeah hopefully quiting smoking is on the horizon.

Plus being in the military helps. Mandatory workouts twice a week.

I bought them a lil book called asl for kids

They like it a lot

Thanks for the support :)

Miska,

Following your progress is gonna make me push myself harder!  (I'm doing the 300 workout as well, albeit not completely yet, but I'm pushing towards it!) :)

Go big or go home!  This IS SPARTA! :D

keeping up with my diet plan. I am actually getting used to the no salt thing which is weird for me

because i have been putting salt on everything for years.

I have been slacking on my spanish because my wife has been at work alot so I keep forgetting to practice.

But I have been going over my sign language flash cards.

I already feel alot better since I have started this challenge. its actually amazing how much better i am doing metally

since i started this. I feel strong as hell and my mind is alot clearer and I have alot more confidance.

Haha! I know, right? I keep hearing my dad say "Go big or go home" in the back of my head every time I try something new fitness wise.  :)

The pullups are the hardest part for me as well.  Especially at the end b/c my arms are just jelly.  That being said, I'm looking forward to getting back to them tonight.  I have a feeling that the more we keep pushing ourselves to do them non-stop, we'll get there.  I'm going to see if I can crank out 10 non-stop tonight without taking a break.  We shall see!

LOL! Just remember, somewhere in Missouri, full body soreness is making me walk funny as well! At least you're not alone! :D

Fantastic to hear that you're adjusting to your diet so well!  I went straight paleo last challenge and what a difference it made in how I felt!  Just amazing!

Glad to hear you're reaping the positive benefits, mentally, physically, etc.

You're going to destroy this challenge buddy! Keep it up!
