Ohai, activity in this thread!

 

Grew up in SW Detroit, live downriver in Southgate, work out at Powerhouse Gym in Lincoln Park, work in Dearborn and hang out a lot in Ann Arbor. :D  I'm all over the friggin place.

 

I keep seeing meet up talk, someone should organize it. :D

So, I figured I'd look through this thread and take note of where everyone says they are.  I'll post that below.  Later today I'm going to plot all of these points into a map and see what would be closest to a mid point so anyone who has posted could attend (I suspect it will end up Lansing, which is good for some).  I'll know for sure once I plot it all though.  In the mean time -

Awesomeness Raev.. hopefully we can get something planned I'd love to meet up with everyone. That said, Warrior Dash 7/27/2014 in Mt. Morris wife and I are doing the 11:45 heat. Think it would be awesome if we could get a whole group sporting some NF swag ;-)

Nice! Have you assigned number values to how many people are in each town? I know there is some overlap and that should be considered, as should the frequency of posting. Or at the very least, those who haven't posted or been active within the last 2 or 3 months should be pulled out.

Also, are we beer people (which I'm assuming is an "of course" since we're in michigan) or do we want to get together to do a workout? We could do both of course! Get together and beat ourselves up followed by beer and carousing.

On the actual map, it lists how many people are in a location.  I didn't take into account frequency of posting.

 

We could do quarterly meetups.  One in Lansing, one in A2, one around Detroit, etc.  Make it a recurring thing.  I know I'd like to drag some NFers out to Dragonmead Brewery!

Did someone say beer?! I'd sure be up for that. Did a quick check on how far we are from places (since I have no idea where anything is in this state) Lan 24, GR 60, Kzoo 62, A2 80. Wife and I could do any of these baby sitter pending. We thinking Saturday afternoons maybe?

If we met in Ypsilanti, 9 dots would have to drive east, and 9 dots would have to drive west. (I tried looking at the map itself, the one with the number of people at each dot, and I couldn't get through.) Now I'm going to do some maths.

A few of us did this last year - it's always a blast.  The nice thing about the heat times is they don't mean anything.  As long as you are registered on the right day, you can run in whatever heat you want.

Wow, I'm loving all the activity! I could definitely do a meetup in Livonia, though anything much farther would require a pretty severe inconvenience to my housemates since we share two cars between seven people. I have a lot of busy Saturdays, but things get slightly less crazy for me after March.

Powerhouse yes, Lincoln Park though. How is the Novi one?

 

It's good, just very busy when I go after work. It's also very difficult to find a parking spot within reasonable distance, but I like the gym. I'm still trying to figure out where all of the racks are, but I'm getting more comfortable there.

That's how Lincoln Park is. Half racks, power rack and dl mat is removed from everything else. It's always the same group of guys and girls in this area too. All squatting or deadlifting. The bros don't come around the area.

Yes, kinda. I've been inactive, but I when A2 Derby Dimes first start playing I played that first season. I'm thinking of getting back into it

That's an easy one. Corner Brewery. It's my favorite for large groups. Then there's Aubree's and Sidetrack. Depends on if you want a burger (Sidetrack) or Pizza (Aubree's). 

If anyone is up for last a last minute hangout... I kinda wanna wanna go to the Hops and Barley in Melvindale! They have $5 PITCHERS of Killians on Monday. They have $1 PINTS of everything on Wednesday. SERIOUSLY!!! They also have good wings that are breaded with this special sauce. I just can't find anyone to go with me yet since it's a bit of a hike. It's so much fun though. I think they targeted this place for Ford workers, since the waitresses have rather small outfits.
