WEEK ONE SUMMARY

  • Goal One = A

  • Goal Two = B average

  • Goal Three = C average

  • So working out was pretty easy this week actually, so long as I remembered to set aside time to do it. There were other days I intended to work out, but ran out of time. I did decently at remembering to eat, and ended up with a B average for the week. Honestly, I'm just glad there were no one-meal days for me. I feel like personally, that's a pretty big accomplishment. My steps are a little embarrassing though. I really need to work on being more active in general. One day I was under the weather, but that was only one, and I'm at a C average. I've finally got some job interviews lined up (had one yesterday!), and I'm hoping that if I start working, I'll easily be reaching my step goals, since I don't "do" desk jobs. Next week: keep up with the working out, remember to eat breakfast, and get out more. Thankfully, the weather is starting to get better!  :tennis:

Huzzah! I don't know how you can make it without at least three meals a day.  If I don't eat bfast within an hour or so of waking up I look like this!

So here is my

WEEK TWO SUMMARY

  • Goal One = A
  • Goal Two = B
  • Goal Three = B
  • I'm definitely starting to feel trimer and more steady/solid from all the working out. My back, I think, is on the edge of its own rebellion from the pull-up plan I've been working on, but I'm hoping it's just a phase. I've injured both wrists in the past and during a college circuit training course they only muscles that never gained strength (literally, it was so depressing to watch the graph) were my shoulders. But I would love to be able to do a real pull-up (or more than one even!). I am, able to just hang for ten seconds, and I've heard that means I'm not a total weakling. Took an introduction to rock climbing class with my husband this last week (who is not a newbie) and also wiped out my shoulders/arms doing that. Maybe I'll work on legs this week. My letter grade for goal two (meals) didn't go up, but my numerical average did, so that's a good thing. And I raised my steps goal from a C last week to a B this week. I've had two job interviews since the beginning of the challenge, and already declined one offer (turns out it wasn't exactly what I thought it was, here's to all your eggs in one basket!!). I'm a little unhappy about my one F rated step day, because I was on my feet for 5-6 hours in the kitchen catching up on my backlog. I genuinely expected it to be a higher number, and after running a test the next morning in our tiny condo kitchen, I'm skeptical that my FitBit is actually logging all the back and forth I do at home. But, since it is my ruler for this challenge, I'm stuck with it and I'll just have to keep it in mind for the upcoming weeks. I am really happy that the challenge over all is motivating me to accomplish other tasks on my limbo (aka "todo") list that I haven't actually put as goals. Can you say junk closet? I've been a little down emotionally and run under physically (tackling the bedroom today - there's some nasty in there that sneaks up on me when I'm asleep and makes me all congested and keeps me awake coughing and hacking and I really need it to go away), so this is my "Onward and upward" war cry!! Bring it on week three!

WEEK FOUR SUMMARY

  • Phew! I was determined to get at least straight A's for one of these six weeks. And I'm happy that I was able to accomplish it this week as I suffered social group setbacks, job hear-back setbacks and *stupid* jean-fitting setbacks. Emotionally, not a great week for me. I know that I'm improving because my body looks different and feels different and both my husband and I have noticed. I just have to hold onto that for the next two weeks. I've already started planning what I want to accomplish during the next six-week challenge. Looking forward to it.
  • P.S. Yeah, I know there was no summary for week three. Oh well. :-/

WEEK FIVE SUMMARY

  • GOAL ONE = A
  • GOAL TWO = A
  • GOAL THREE = C
  • Almost fell off the wagon this week due to some heavy emotional stress, but I pulled through by the skin of my teeth. My steps have gone back down, but this was the first week of the challenge where I just moved naturally, meaning it's my only base line for how active I really am day to day for a whole week. In all previous weeks, there was a minimum of one day that I made the conscious effort. I realize now that the challenge is almost over is a silly time to look for a "base line," but I realized I didn't have one to work with, plus I was curious, so I went for it. One thing that is definitely true - I can rationalize not working out, but I think I'm effectively in the habit for reals of eating three times a day. Which is good, I needed to be. :-)
