Telemon's Battle Log

Yup, a new seat can be a real torture device. So can camping if you don't have really good gear. One of the people that is going hates camping, so it'll probably be hotels and such. My wife isn't one for cycling, so she'll probably run the wimp-out car (with the rack) and port the wine purchases. As long as there are good restaurants and wine involved, she's in.

Oops, posted this in my challenge thread yesterday accidentally...

I was feeling tired & a bit weak and it shows in the numbers, but I got it done... Hurray for 20 seconds of commitment.

numbers look pretty good for feeling tired and weak- were the 3 minute planks seconds "endured" for each of 4 reps?

some of the warriors in my boot camp can do an 8 minute plank

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but in short, 3 minutes is the total time I need to do planks with the time I am capable of holding the position in seconds - with a two minute break between reps. Each rep is separated by a slash mark.

Endured is definitely the right word for it at this point as I really hate doing them. It will be quite a while before I am holding that position for eight minutes at a time. But what the heck, you gotta start somewhere and I'm curious to see what I can do over time.

you get your hr really high- must be pretty sweaty after 25 miles!  Sweat translates into lost weight in my book

Yep, it's still too unpleasant here for that yet - 19° today with snow and wind. We did have one nice day though... Went for a jog that day.

Thx Honey. What can I say? If I'm not pushing hard I don't feel like I've really worked out. It might be why I have a hard time sticking to a consistent exercise regimen. They are almost always grueling....

I'm trying to get myself to a point where if I don't feel like working really hard that I back off but still do something. I'm getting a little better at this, but even my last 'easy' ride turned into a long ride with three high resistance intervals (spiking my HR to 162). I don't know... Somewhere along the line in my workout something always switches in my mind from 'enjoy the ride' to 'Push, Push, Push!'

man oh man; we live far enough south to not feel the need to invest in a snow blower. spent a few years shoveling out our 500 foot steep driveway by hand (plow won't do it, it has a bend at the bottom of the "steep") I shudder to read about all of your shoveling and snow blowing of the lovely white 6 sided crystals
